Nomination at Convention Moved up to Monday, Per Fox News

Carl Cameron just reported that they decided to move it up and get it out of the way since the roll call by state is such a long, tedious process plus they don't want any controversy/problems from Paul delegates.

Edit: I made a mistake, it was Cameron (not Shep) reporting during Brett Baier's show.

I thought it was always the 2nd to the last day .

As in 2008 when the nomination was on Wednesday evening I believe.

Then the speeches were on Thursday if I remember.

What's going on here?

I pray for the Paul delegates.

Stay on your toes and ahead of the game.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul

So let me get this straight

They made a rule change that they want to count the votes an hour before the votes are counted; and then they won't tell you when the vote is going to be held - Monday is it now?

And it's now at a time that won't be broadcast, which is the only reason people watch this on TV, and they might cancel it by claiming "storm" if they need to?

This isn't very confident behavior.

And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.

Can somebody explain why...

...it seems Ron Paul has all but given up while his hardcore supporters charge on expecting victory and doing the work, while he seems to be receding into the twilight of retirement.

It's been weeks or months since I've heard or seen Ron Paul give anything resembling a rallying speech. I don't get it. He always preached run to the very end of the race, and it seems he's stopped running or even walked off the track into the bleachers to watch the race with the spectators.

Very perplexed. Please help with this question.

"It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a rEVOLution before tomorrow morning." - Henry Ford

Because Ron Paul isn't into

Because Ron Paul isn't into fighting battles that have already been lost. Some of his supporters don't have the political experience to know that the battle for the nomination has been lost so they waste their time on it.

Romney has no chance at President

If you can't trust him with your dog, how can you trust him with your vote?

Let's replace our politics and policies with Paulitics and Paulicies! I live in Denver, I want to see Ron Paul debate Obama at DU!

Cool, Since Rand Paul is speaking Monday

We can do a first round of voting, get it thrown out and go to a second round and brokered convention.

Sounds like they're playing by our schedule!

And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.

The RNC is now requiring delegates to write/tell them

a hour beforehand who they are planning to vote for, so there are no surprises. Stealth delegates....don't tell 'em.

...I changed my mind about that. Maybe everyone should tell them and stand en masse at the convention so there's no mistaking the actual numbers.

My concern

If this is now a requirement in the rules, don't we put our votes at risk of being invalidated if we don't follow the new procedure?

Wouldn't it give them a publicly justifiable reason to say that our votes don't count?

that's Monday

I don't believe there was an update to Monday. They updated Tuesday's schedule and added Scott Walker. They've also released Wednesday's schedule. If the pattern holds, tomorrow they will release Thursday's schedule.

Skip roll call?

Really? What does that mean ? Will not having it hurt us? I hoping to learn all I can this week about how these conventions go.

they're not skipping the roll call

They're just moving it from Wednesday night to Monday afternoon.

If Ron Paul Pulls An Upset, The RNC Will Say It Didn't Count!!

If Paul does get the nomination the RNC will probably say it won't count...Sounds like Iowa...lol

If Ron Paul gets the nomination, it would look stupid to have the following scheduled speakers for the "PRESUMPTIVE LOSER"

I'm not too sure this wasn't planned in case of an unanticipated upset by Ron Paul..

Romney is scared SH#ITLESS!

So you don't think it is the Hurricane threat ?

that caused the move to Monday. So once the nomination process is over, they can cancel the convention if they have to.

You Got It ironman!

That just want the coronation to go smoothly so they can feel like they can beat Obama.

And the theme for Monday is:

WE CAN DO BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh Yes! We CAN do better than Willard!!

Ron Paul Wins Republican Nomination for President in Tampa!!!

Keep the faith!

If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy.
James Madison

this was announced several days ago

when they released Monday's convention schedule. All people here noticed was the time of Rand's speech. I'm surprised this wasn't more talked about.

My personal opinion is that they know that there are people in the convention hall who will hold out hope until the vote is complete that somehow there are a magic 1000 stealth delegates who will stop Romney from getting the nomination. They're probably expecting someone to try to turn the nomination process into a floor fight, and for some Paul delegates to go around trying to convert other delegates up until the vote happens. Now, by putting it on the first day in the late afternoon then having Rand speak that night (and possibly be introduced by Ron on video), they're going to deflate any anti-Romney efforts on Tuesday and beyond. If the vote wasn't until late on Wednesday, then some people would probably be tirelessly harassing other delegates for the first three days to try to get them to vote for Ron Paul. Now that is gone, and it's probably very smart for the RNC. Everything from Tuesday on is going to be all Romney, all the time.

why the down votes?

Shazad's opinion is right on.

And consider how the RNC booked every venue within a couple hundred miles of Tampa for the entire week. Then they helped Paul stage a rally Sunday afternoon at the Sun Dome. Ron Paul staffers told us via email (and I was told on the phone) the campaign would have buses to take us to the RNC opening media event for all delegates Sunday evening. A few days ago the RNC decided there would not be enough time to screen the buses entering, so most Paul supporters will be nowhere near the other delegates all of Sunday. Monday morning we have breakfast at the delegate hotel then board the RNC buses to get into the brainwashing convention, which leaves little time for non-Paul delegates to see the grassroots outside.

This entire event is controlled on many levels. I will still do my best and vote for Ron Paul.

RNC - nip it in the bud strategy

... they're looking to keep the liberty movement down. We the rloveution have a few days to beat this strategy: skip the breakfast and beat their buses. Get up earlier than the neocons . . . operation early arrival

yep the rnc is paving the

yep the rnc is paving the road to elect obama.

Ron Paul 2016

Has THAT Ever Been Done Before, Historians??

Guess there will be some ever so slight edits to speeches...or does it mean the hurricane is coming Tues or Wed.?

Surprising announcement like let's just get it over with and go party.

All Delegates!

This news has got to tell you that there are more Ron Paul Supporters than you think.

The establishment are running scared!

Be sure you get to Tampa on Sunday.........Hope a lot of you were not just planning to get there on Tuesday prior to the Wednesday scheduled nomnation process!

With god's help we can do this. Bless you all!

Benton says there are 373 delegates and alternates combined

(who are supporters of Ron Paul)

If I was Benton I would say the same

It's smart for Benton to have low-balled the Paul delegate count, this way the Romney camp let their guard down.

"Don't worry folks, the Ron camp say only 373 delegates are coming to Tampa..."

Yeah right, buddy ;)

Don't Trust that turncoat Benton

He will deal with the devil and screw us over. He is bad news I cannot believe Ron lets him get away with the shit he does. Do not deal with the DEVIL. (RNC) or Benton

And Shazad, I know that you know this.

yeah, he's just faking everyone out

Maybe he just left out the "1" in front of "373" and he's waiting to spring that on the RNC on Monday.

Well, there ARE strategic

Well, there ARE strategic decisions being made that we aren't privy to. So before I start throwing stones, I believe I'll stick around til the end and see what happens...I really think the entire country is going to be shocked, I can hardly wait...

The campaign has never

given real numbers, just saying that I'm pretty sure that you realize that...not arguing what they are.
