Best Doug Wead quote...

This is not a direct quote, but close enough from the chat last night?

Q: Doug at one point you said we may have up to 1000 delegates. Can you provide a more accurate number?

Doug: No, but what I can say is we have enough to make the establishment nervous.

Ok people. That gave me some hope that the following might occur, and it may be far more about the platform than showing Romney love. IT could be that the platform may become something that candidate Romney may have no chance to defend based on past history and conviction. That is where the cookie crumbles for him. At that point, votes are up in the air as to how it goes.

I found it depressing that Wead did say that rules had been changed that Paul cannot be nominated from the floor. Not really sure what that means. But maybe it is not important if you think about it. To my understanding, there will be two names on the ballot. And, I assume that those two names will get an opportunity to speak. IF the GOP plans on following at least one of their own rules. So, from that point people go to vote. And who knows? Sadly, I think people are still really dumb. And those morons who will drop cards for Romney likely wont change.

I will continue to pray for Paul, our delegates, our country, and each and every one of you that we will all have the spirit to continue trying to save this country from itself.

After this convention, if RP

After this convention, if RP doesn't get the nomination, and I expect he won't, I am through. I will never vote for another Republican again. I always voted Libertarian when I saw it on the ballot and Republican if there was no Libertarian. Now I just will not vote for a Republican. The party is corrupt. The Democrats and Republicans always called each other corrupt, but I only believed it was the Democrats. After this nomination process, I know that it is both. I believe 100% that RP actually won a number of primaries as well as even more caucuses than we are seeing. Honestly, this has completely destroyed my faith in the American political system. We are just third world with better PR.

I am certain...

He won Maine. And possibly even Washington and Alaska.

Yup

and until people demand going back to hand counted ballots and actually make it happen, there isn't a damn thing anybody can do about it....

The Platform Committee is

The Platform Committee is done. Most of Dr. Paul's ideas got voted down. I believe they did add the audit the Fed though, which from what I understand was a concession Romney made during talks with Ron and Rand Paul.

Unless delegates were assigned to the platform committee they have no influence at all on the platform, so your assumption there is incorrect. I suspect they are simply nervous that Dr. Paul's delegates are going to be very outspoken at the convention. They sure don't want Mitt's coronation interrupted.

Audit authority is undeniable

Constitutional government cannot legitimately create a power greater than itself, so it's not really much of a "concession" that the GOP recognizes that if they don't use their authority to audit the Fed; they are tacitly admitting to being paid off by this corruption that has been forced on us for an entire century.

How audible and visible will this appear during this convention, or not; is the crucial question playing out. Can the party elite downplay Dr. Paul's long, faithful service among so many of his delegates; while pretending to honor him for standing firm on this one vital issue? Do they think they can get away with sidestepping this, without serious resentment being raised at a time when unity is needed most?
