So, what happens now for those delegates who were removed,

after spending time and money to get to Tampa? I love RP, but did he think of asking the opinions of his delegates before deciding to "compromise"? I'd say most would have said NO and preferred to fight till the end.

Perhaps the Unseated RP Delegates

... are all being given FREE "Go-Romney" t-shirts as a consolation. Woo-hoo!!

This has been a war between us and Romney, the RNC

and the neocons from the very beginning.

About time we started acting like it was a war and stopped pussyfooting around.

"In the end, more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all -- security, comfort, and freedom. When ... the freedom they wished for was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free."

betrayal

Looks like the campaign has been sold out from the inside. To discard a plurality is not a compromise, it is giving away any leverage you might
have had at the convention. It is absurd to suggest otherwise. I would do my best to try and undo this betrayal. All the disenfranchised delegates should file
restraining orders immediately.

Can the delegates fight against Benton's betrayal?

Do you mean a restraining order on Benton or someone else?

Can you please clarify what the disenfranchised delegates options are.

"In the end, more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all -- security, comfort, and freedom. When ... the freedom they wished for was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free."

Hopefully

They get a committee seat and continue to work on materializing Ron Paul's message in the GOP.

You seem to be very naive about the sort of people

we are up against.

Think Macchiavelli.
Medieval princes.
Throw the plebs to the wolves to stay in power and pursue our agenda.

Rumsfeld read Macchiavelli.
So did I.

"In the end, more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all -- security, comfort, and freedom. When ... the freedom they wished for was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free."

Not at all

What Ron Paul tried to tell us is that there were few of them remaining.. it was all a big "Wizard of OZ" with MSM's lies making them seem bigger than they are. My county was supposed to have 21 seated Republicans.. my first meeting there was 2. They never had a quorum, even when they invited their friends.. we had 10 open seats.. we could have out powered them within three months..

But too many are like you.. you believe what MSM says, you didn't bother going to the meetings to see for yourself, like I did. Ron Paul KNEW all we had to do was show up, and he found out, there's allot of BIG TALK around here, but too many NO SHOWS.

Now Palin's people are flocking in...

Ron Paul gave Libertarians an golden opportunity to take the GOP and go mainstream and instead, they woosed out and settled for a REPUBLICAN GJ.

Such a shame. And to top it off the same people who didn't show are calling Ron Paul a cowards, and a fraud.

I am talking

HW Bush, Cheney, Kristol, Rove, Abrams, Perle, Jeb Bush, Armitage.

These types of people

"In the end, more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all -- security, comfort, and freedom. When ... the freedom they wished for was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free."

Right

Those are the people who I was so afraid of and why I hesitated and was ill when I joined the GOP, but they are not there.. and that is why Ron Paul asked us to fill in the gaps.

There are spokesholes for MSM.. NOT in the GOP seated and reigning.

I agree

they cannot affect determined people going for precinct positions etc. and then working up.

They still control MSM and RNC.

"In the end, more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all -- security, comfort, and freedom. When ... the freedom they wished for was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free."

Precinct?

When I worked elections, we worked precincts.. this is a county seat under the Board of Supervisors, where our job is to vet candidates, delegates and issues for ballot access.

The seat is what credentials delegates.. and why, if we had those seats, we could do to the neocns what they did to us.. we just didn't have the seats and why so many qualified, duly elected delegates got tossed. Seats are the bottom line.

We are on the same page

bottom up is difficult to counter.

"In the end, more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all -- security, comfort, and freedom. When ... the freedom they wished for was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free."

I'm happy about that

I just wish more Ron Paul Republicans would get those seats.. It's killing me to see Palin Earthquake coming in to take those seats.

They Are Learning Firsthand

...what it's like to become the easy prey of sociopaths.

Hopefully they go to Tampa

and participate in a historic moment for the Revolution and Ron Paul that they will remember for the rest of their lives!

DO IT ANYWAY
(The version found written on the wall in Mother Teresa's home for children in Calcutta):

People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies. Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you. Be honest and sincere anyway.

What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight. Create anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous. Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, will often be forgotten. Do good anyway.

Give the best you have, and it will never be enough. Give your best anyway.

In the final analysis, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.

Thomas Jefferson: “Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that His justice cannot sleep forever."

Sorry man but who's got that kind of cash?

I mean really? It would have been a very difficult thing to do if I were seated and sacrifices would have to be made by my family and children for me to do that.

But now that we have no voice...I can not justify it.

So you think the delegates

So you think the delegates would have preferred to spend the money to go to Tampa only to have Romney's people vote them out when the issue got to the floor? The compromise was that Paul got more delegates than he could have won in a floor fight in exchange Romney avoided a floor fight that would have been time consuming and nasty.

Yes! All of us would have gone down there for the show down...

Which would have gotten HUGE exposure on the MSM because they love a fight. And the story would have finally gotten national coverage and even if they did vote us totally out...the story would have played out and gotten discussed including video of the actual LA State Convention.

Yes 14-17 is better than 0...or is it? We now have LOST LA (where we controlled up to 34 delegate seats) as one of the 5 states needed to nominate Ron Paul from the floor.

Is that a good thing?

What about the other delegates?

Particularly the Santorum ones? Do you think there might be 3-5 of them willing to join a coalition to nominate Ron from the floor?

We would have lost LA anyway.

We would have lost LA anyway. The floor fight would have taken place in the afternoon and would have gotten minimum coverage on the evening news. No, its not good that we lost but given the situation I think its the best result we could have expected.

Don't want Reimbursement BUT do want the record straight...

It was claimed in Doug Weads Facebook meeting last night that the compromise for the Louisiana Delegates was brokered by...THE LA DELEGATES! This is not true as I am one of the ousted Alternate Delegates from Louisiana and we were never given a choice in the deal that was made.

Now it is my understanding that is was brokered, at least in part, by the head of the LA RON PAUL Delegation, Charlie Davis.

If that is the case all I've got to tell everyone is that a large many of us have we have been fighting Charlie the whole way as he has been pushing to "Give Away" our Delegate count to Romney and Santorum Supporters ever since we won the caucuses. In fairness to Charlie, he has said this was the request of the National Campaign. We have had contentious fights over the giving away of our Delegate Count since April and had several hard core grassroots supporters kicked out of the "Club" because they would not back down.

In the end, we went from controlling 34 Delegates...to only voting in 27 (in an attempt to appease the LAGOP) to settling for 14-17 in the last appeal instead of refusing the deal and taking it to the convention floor. All in an attempt to pacify the GOP.

I don't get it and neither do many many of us in LA who poured our time effort, money, friends money, families money into getting our cause heard...on the convention floor!

Now maybe I just don't see how "powerful" this is for the cause of liberty. Maybe I'm just fussing because I wanted a full on show down and didn't want to be part of the GOP in the first place.

But I can tell you this for sure. Apathy is settling back in for many of us down here but this time it has been at the hands of our own campaign.

Amen

Amen From LA. I'm not a delegate but I did spend my time and money to see this happen too. After looking at what is taking place, I can really understand now why so many people never even bother to vote and don't even know LA is a caucus state. I wonder what would happen if Obama gets beat and says well let's sit down and negotiate whether or not we'll seat the new president. On a huge scale none of this makes any sense but we're still talking about this like elections are not the final say.

So now not only do Americans have elections for representatives but then the representatives elected have to be approved by the incumbent for them to be valid? Let that sink in...

mrosato

This is REALLY reprehensible... I am speechless at such a capitulation and throwing those people under the bus AFTER asking them to pay their own way to go there, and take all sorts of abuse just to do what they were told only to have the campaign discard them to satisfy the GOP. This is nothing short of betrayal...

Yeah, I agree with you...

"Throwing those people under the bus"...that would be me. But rather than taking it personally, we the flattened and rolled over, see it in terms of the whole effort by all of us to get Dr Paul nominated on the floor. This deal is an affront to all of us who worked so hard to make this a reality.

I still don't get how compromising to the point of losing our plurality of delegates is in our best interest.

Take it up with Mitt Romney

er.. The Granger, maybe he can explain it to you/us.

The RNC should reimburse them

for EVERYTHING!
