Members of the Republican National Committee voted Thursday to split Maine’s delegation to the national convention into two separate groups, awarding roughly half of the state’s 20 contested delegates to Mitt Romney and half to Ron Paul, a Maine party official said.
Charlie Webster, chairman of the Maine Republican Party, said the RNC Committee on Contests had hoped that Maine’s contingent of 20 Paul delegates would agree to the split.
Webster said the Contests Committee concluded "there were so many mistakes made by the party, by the credentialing committee and by the chairman of the convention ... that it wasn't a legitimate election."

Why isn't the campaign screaming about this? - because they made a deal and they didn't blink or object when these delegates objected - they are just going along with the deal - and you still want to go to Tampa and make a stink to demand the nomination of the man who sold you out?

Where is the outrage? - the public complaint? - everything is quiet on the RP Campaign front - I didn't mean to imply that the RP campaign did not initially try to assist their state delegations - LA, ME and MA - just that they struck a deal - and nothing you have noted dispels this interpretation. The Romney campaign and state parties contested RP delegations, RP confronted the challenge and then negotiated a settlement that was acceptable to them. It is all very pragmatic and normal - politics as usual. I just don't think many of his supporters wanted him to negotiate a deal.

In my opinion, If I were the Maine Convention Chair, I would say you are correct, there was no convention in Maine, therefore by Maine law every Republican is thrown off the ballot by state law.

take it to the floor in Tampa and let the committee decide. This is getting out of hand! Where is the campaign, and why are they doing this? Dr. Paul wanted civility at the convention, but with the way the delegates are being disenfranchised - by his own campaign - it seems to me like he's instigating unrest. Can the delegates change their minds in Tampa and say NO DEAL?

To his most ardent supporters his campaign is a crusade to restore freedom and constitutional government - very admirable and idealistic - to the RP family, the campaign is the family business - Ron Paul has made the decision - RON PAUL, NO ONE ELSE - to strike a deal with the powers that be to ensure that Rand Paul, the next generation, does not alienate the rank and file of the Republican Party.

Yes you are pissed off because you were sold a bill of goods by a campaign that never ever intended to go as far as you were willing to take it - so the solution is to nominate Ron Paul - the person who sold out your side?
