Kurt Bills Flip-Flops: Switches Presidential Support from Ron Paul to Mitt Romney

Minneapolis Star Tribune: State Rep. Kurt Bills, who won the Republican Party's endorsement for U.S. Senate, switched his presidential support Thursday from Ron Paul to Mitt Romney.

Bills said in a statement that Romney and his running mate, Wisconsin U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan, "alone have the ability to beat Barack Obama in November and help America rediscover its conservative principles."

Kurt Bills presses Republicans to back Romney, not Paul

In a statement being distributed by the Republican Party of Minnesota, GOP Senate candidate Kurt Bills states, "In order to defeat Obama and his lieutenant Amy Klobuchar, Republicans of all stripes must stand together. We cannot afford to squabble, and mustn't equivocate. We need to unite--standing on our shared principles--to win in November."

Flip-flopping for the flip-flopper

Oh...how unexpected.

RAND PAUL or NOT AT ALL

Is everybody stupid here?

Ron Paul cannot win, he said it himself. It is over for him, so Bills is supporting the nominee. STFU and donate to this mans campaign. I can confirm that the Minn. Establishment WANT BILLS TO LOSE! They are going to crush the liberty movement in his state by saying that candidates like Bills cannot win. Is this what you want? Donate!

LOL

Now I want Bills to lose too!

Fuck Bills and you too, while we're at it. Morons like you never get real principles,.. They're so far out of character for you, that you just don't comprehend why they're important.

Jump ship, Rat and be done with it.

Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution, inevitable.

dumbass

Do you even know what libertarian principles are? Dont your realize that Ron Paul himself has Endorsed Establishment Republicans before? Just look at his endorsements in 2010....How many NEOCON assholes did Ron Endorse in Texas? All of them!!

Obligatory endorsments when you are running for office, MEAN NOTHING.

SO grow up douche.

You're backing a traitor and you're asking ME if I know what

they are? LMAO.. that's rich.

Dr.Paul is an eternal optimist. He wants to believe the good in someone and that he can convince them to change their ways to his.

I don't hold those same views. I'd rather see them removed.

You busy yourself with playing politics, Santorum and I'll busy myself with my own ways.

Be the change you wish to see. Can't do that by going along to get along.

Get with the program, loser.

Ron Paul can't win so endorse

Ron Paul can't win so endorse the establishment? What do you stand for? Even if Ron does not get the nomination this weekend, why would you then give support to the people who oppress us? This needs to end and if all of us don't stand against tyranny we will forever be the victims of the fraud that is our monetary system. You are choosing to be the problem.

.

To emphasize...

The truth is that Kurt Bills is really hurting for campaign contributions. He isn't getting much support from the establishment republicans here in Minnesota. Its a political move to try and drum up some support.

In reality Kurt Bills is one of the few Republicans running for senate that understand free markets and libery. That should be enough for us all to support him.

EDIT: He gets lots of support from normal republicans here, he's hurting for contributions because Wall St. doesn't have him in his pocket. Unlike his rival Amy Klobichar

Ron Paul - Intellectual hero

I liked Kurt Bills....

not anymore! Just another traitor like Rand.

I don't play, I commission the league.

Rand Recently

...very publicly complained about yet another bill that was 100s of pages long being handed out right before a vote. Nobody had time to read it. A few found hidden pork that would hurt their states.

How many Senators have done that? It is more than worth it to have a Senator that brings those things to light.

fonta

Yes, it is worth having Rand

Yes, it is worth having Rand Paul as a senator, not as loyal politician that you can count on or maybe the establishment can count on him.Who knows? ...but Gary Johnson is sounding good right now.

Every establishment shill whines about pork...

where have you been? On real issues like drones and sanctions, Rand has caved in to the neocons.

I don't play, I commission the league.

I Know He Has Caved In On Many Things

...however he has stood up for many things as well and there are not many Senators who have stood up for anything.

fonta

Tell me...

What is your logic for your conclusion?

Ron Paul - Intellectual hero

Turning on Ron...

and endorsing Willard, who is diametrically opposed to the principles of the liberty movement.

I don't play, I commission the league.

Your

Assumption is that he is somehow turning his back on Ron Paul? Kurt bills is running his own political campaign, not a campaign to elect Ron Paul. I don't see your logic.

Ron Paul - Intellectual hero

No assumption lol

That's exactly what turning your back on someone means.

If both are still in the race officially..well I'd think that was pretty easy to figure out.

We're not even going to mention that it's a slap in the face to the Liberty movement.. Well I just did anyway.. Look at that, I flipped flopped!

I said I wasn't going to do it and I TURNED around and did it anyway!

He dumped Paul and endorsed Willard.

Considering that Willard is a warmonger and a shill for the banksters, that's a slap in the face to the liberty movement. Period.

I don't play, I commission the league.

people calm down

He supported Ron Paul when ron needed his support.
and now its fairly clear Ron Paul wont get the nomination
and so as a republican he is supporting Mitt Romney
I guess Bills chose the lesser of two evils, but thats his choice
Personally, I believe Bills did the harder thing, endorsing Ron Paul duning the primaries
now onto the election, who do you want him to endorse?
Ron Paul, isnt on the ticket, Gary Johnson endorsement would alienate him, but a Romney endorsement, helps keep him going, and doesnt affect the way he votes.
and Romney isnt going to win anyway

"I don’t care about [Ron Paul's] chances. I support him. We have no other solutions. It is my duty as a citizen and as a taxpayer who doesn’t want to be hoodwinked in the long term by bureaucrats." -- Nassim Taleb

He should support Ron Paul

He should support Ron Paul until the end. If he doesn't have a candidate he can endorse, he shouldn't endorse one. We are moving into a new era, and there are two sides, banksters and fraud on one side, liberty on the other... and he just chose the wrong side.

Tell it like it is brother

Ron Paul - Intellectual hero

I want him to endorse Ron Paul

I want him to endorse Ron Paul so he can get the nomination. I didn't think I'd have to explain to someone at the Daily Paul that the delegates decide the Nominee - so it has not been decided yet.

So what does

Kurt Bills endorsement have to do with the nomination? You yourself just explained that it is infact delegates who decide's the nominee. Ie. NOT Kurt Bills.

Ron Paul - Intellectual hero

He is trying to influence

He is trying to influence delegates to abandon principles and support Romney. Such an act immediately discredits him in the future and also immediately puts his figurative head on the political chopping block. Off with it already!

This has nothing to do with convincing delegates

Delegates have already decided what they're doing. He's not trying to influence the nomination, because that's already a sure thing for Romney.

I probably shouldn't even comment

I'm pretty sick of most of the people on this site. You all render judgements as if from on high. Get off your high horses.

The reality is that Kurt Bills is one of the few Republicans running for senate that understand free markets and libery. That should be enough for us to support him.

Was I bummed when I got the email? Yes. The truth is that Kurt Bills is really hurting for campaign contributions. He isn't getting much support from the establishment republicans here in Minnesota. Its a political move to try and drum up some support.

Ron Paul - Intellectual hero

So he's hurting for money...

So the solution is to kowtow to the establishment in order to get funds? And not rally the base with a speech that gets people to VOLUNTARILY give their money to his campaign. Give me a break.

Good Thing

I didn't donate to help out the Bills guy. Very few have I assisted with in donations asked for by the Paul campaign to support "Liberty" Candidates. The same goes for Ted Cruz of TX. They've proved themselves Untrustworthy.

What "shared principles"?

What "shared principles"? You've missed the point already. The RNC has shown themselves to be driven by power and using force and corruption to get it. There is a bigger picture to see here. By giving up your principles you Win What at all costs??? The system is terribly terribly broken. To quote Ron Paul "We (The Republicans) have lost our way. Obama needs to be outed, charged, tried and convicted of massive fraud and deception...let alone impeached for misuse and abuse of presidential powers. Voting for a Republican artificial nominee is just as duplicitous. Please wake up! You are no further ahead either way.

STOP THE NONSENSE

Kurt is a great man who MUST become elected....
he will be a true powerhouse in the Senate along with Rand Paul

What he is doing is political pragmatism... their is nothing wrong with that..
He is still, first and foremost, a Ron Paul supporter..
let the man do what needs to be done to get elected..
