8/23/12 I just got off the Delegate/Alternate Conference Call

Total buzz kill.

More questions were asked (or were allowed to be asked) about busing and VIP passes than what our delegate count really is. And how the Platform went. Or what exactly we should do on the floor.

Apparently, according to the Campaign. RON PAUL WILL NOT ACCEPT a nomination from the floor.

Basically at this point I guess he considers it not cool to be flaunting his support when in that controlled environment it will look very small.

They never answered if MA was settled and alluded to the Credentials Committee issue - which John Tate was meeting with the RP committee members and could not participate in the call I was on.

There was a lot of talk about when you speak to the press answer the question YOU WISHED they had asked. Just jump right to good stuff that you want to say. And to remember that you are representing a movement. They don't want wild eyed - pissed off- people getting on camera. I see their point - but I for one am, in fact, fairly irritated.

They didn't say endorse Romney...but after Monday simply say you are looking forward to bringing the party back bla bla bla... and firmly planting the flag of liberty in the republican party.

Someone asked if Ron Paul would be endorsing Romney and they said, "good question."

If Ron Paul ends up endorsing Romney I am going to flip my lid.

there is nothing stopping him

there is nothing stopping him from accepting his name placed into nomination, yet he doesn't want to do it.

There's NOTHING stopping him?

Sometimes I think that people on DP don't read their own posts, or maybe they just don't believe what they post?

Over the years, I have read reams of "conspiracy theory" and documented FACTS, about TPTB. THE POWERS THAT BE are EXCEPTIONALLY POWERFUL. You have watched them, whether you believed it or not, do things that were beyond amazing, dispictable, historic, mind blowing.. and throughout all this, Ron Paul stood alone.. a joke, a misfit, an exception..and we ALL admired him and looked up to him, and many of us did what he asked, but not enough of us... that is a fact.. and it's not like it was easy for him, or us, to get where we are today. TPTB are not in this to play games. THEY KNOW WHAT THEY WANT and THEY WILL DO ANYTHING TO GET THAT.

Now as remarkable as Ron Paul is, and he is, he is NOT a martyr and no one should expect him to lay his life down. He's NOT asking us to die for him or for Liberty. he asked us to join the GOP and get a committtee seat, become a delagate and vote for him. He has asked us to do our part, and for those who did, to become the heirs to his message. We CAN do this, IF we do as he asked.

So to say he has nothing stopping him... HE DOES. He wants to LIVE and I want him to LIVE too. I want ALL of us to THRIVE.

It's amazing he has come as far as he did. People here say they are stealing his message.. actually, they are getting the message and GOOD! GOOD!! That's why we must carry on

are you implying that he will

are you implying that he will be "corrected" if he goes against the wishes of the GOP establishment?

I'm telling you that what you are seeing is his being "corrected".

Not quit! I know my calling no matter what happens at the RNC I will be ready to do my part to make sure that the R[3VOL]UTION carries on far beyond what Ron Paul could have ever imagined.please follow me on Twitter @txdelegate for updates from the floor

If we wait too long we will surely perish!

((((((((((SliverSonofLiberty))))))))) You Rock and I LOVE YOU!!!!

I'm SOOOOOOO WITH YOU! Even though I don't do twitter... KNOW, I'm WITH YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Granger, will you be

Hey Granger, will you be campaigning for Romney? If not, how will you keep your committee seat?

Just wondering how that works. How do you remain a GOP leader of any consequence unless you are willing to support the ticket?

I must be willing to give up what I am in order to become what I will be. Albert Einstein

Like the DP, the GOP is made of people who don't have everything in common. I don't know anyone on the committee who liked Romney, but once Romney's name was listed as THE nominee on the CA Sec of State web page, they all began focusing on other issues and fuctions of the committee rather than talk about Romney.

I've mentioned that recently, what I thought were three stealth Ron Paul Republicans seeking to do what Ron Paul asked ALL of us to do and take committe seats, I now believe are Palin Earthquakers.

So I will keep my ears open to what Rand and Bills say, and listen carefully to the Palin folks, since they already out number me and the other Ron Paul Republican.

I support the ticket, in that I support the Ron Paul Republicns who need that power. You've got to stay in the game to win, and we have many wins, though many here don't see them as wins, for example, the tea party being taken.. as the tea party supports constitutional sheriffs, that's a win. Romney is now talking about supporting an audit of the fed, that is a win.

While I'm sorry that it's Palin Earthquakers and not Ron Paul Republicans comming into the GOP to take those empty seats, there are issues we can agree, and I will focus on those, fundraising, supporting the party.

As people, we are not always going to agree, or see eye to eye, just like on DP. While the Neocons may see me as a troll they want to have banned from their committee, as long as I am respectful, pay my dues, play by the by-laws and give them no reason to eliminate me, I should be able to keep my seat and prepare to vet Ron Paul Republicans issues and running for office in 2014.

See, that's what makes me

See, that's what makes me doubt that the "GOP strategy" is ever going to work.

We're in the minority and our views differ substantially from the establishment majority and in order to stay relevant as leaders we have to participate in fundraising and other party activities in support of candidates we don't want to support.

Personally, I'm just not willing to do it. I'll show up at the conventions and vote if somebody gets me in, but I'm just not going to actually attempt to help candidates who hold views so different from my own just to stay relevant and be a good soldier in the club.

So unless a liberty candidate pops up in the local GOP, I won't be active. Can't do it. It would violate my principles.

I must be willing to give up what I am in order to become what I will be. Albert Einstein

We ALL feel like that

It's what makes us equals.

I'm lucky in that the guy running for congress that we nominated is a liberty candidate.. so I will focus on him.. I'm not real keen on who we picked for senator, but those who are, will focus on her.

In the meantime, at this point, you get to watch the Palin Earthquake operate.. and you get to remind evryone about, "That was Ron Paul's idea".

If we are not there, we don't get any liberty canidates.. now that the Palin guys are coming in, we have more opportunity for more liberty candidates.

Also, when you vet these candidates, you can ask "Ron Paul" questions and get answers, and make a few points.
You just have to look at the whole thing as an opportunity to learn, to educate, to hold what ground you have achieved, and work to gain more ground. Find those who you can agree with and practice tolerance for the ones you don't (I buy them lunch, or coffee "my treat").

There's a lot you can do... I'm not a phone person, but happy to put together something for a parade.. and I like findraising. I volunteer for everything and they don't actually want me to do anything.. maybe phones.. whatever they think you don't want to do, that's what they'll try to get you to do.

The good news it's it's only a two hour meeting once a month, and you might have a few Ron Paul Republicans on your committee to have local friends/ team with.

No one on my committee wanted Romney, so you have to KNOW that............... also they are jealous that I have a candidate that I LOVE.. many never had that.. and my guy is still in the race.. they would have never figured that one.

My meeting is tomorrow, and one of the best things about ti, is I know several don't want to go to hear me say "Ron Paul"... I can't wait.
