RNC passes rule binding all delegates to popular vote for future elections

Mitt Romney's presidential campaign, led by top Romney lawyer Ben Ginsberg, forced through a major change the GOP nominating process on Friday in response to Ron Paul supporters' efforts to win delegates to the Republican National Committee..

The Republican National Convention Committee voted 56-40 to make it impossible for supporters of one presidential candidate to override the will of voters at a state convention, as Ron Paul supporters did in Iowa and Nevada.

The purpose of the change, Ginsberg said, was "to correct what we saw as a damaging flaw in the presidential election process in 2012."

The rule forces statewide presidential primaries or caucuses to determine the ultimate allocation of delegates, preventing takeovers like Paul executed in Iowa by eliminating unbound delegates in statewide contests. States would be allowed to decide whether to give all their delegates to the winner of the primary or caucus, or distribute them proportionally according to the results.

Yep... When the masses are

Yep... When the masses are sick of rigged voting machines, a country going down the tubes, and a corrupt government... When they are ready to do what it will really take to change this I will be the first in the charge! Peaceful revolution isn't going to be allowed. When it gets bad enough change will come.

Who would have thought that Tyrannts would allow ...

people to vote themselves free?

RNC has now taken the velvet glove off and shown their true intentions to the country.

No wonder they brought in so much security in Tampa.

This must be approved by the body!

It has serious flaws for liberty.

It allows the GOP mafia to determine your candidates! Fundamentally it would be unconstitutional in most states! Giving power to the mythical, fairly undefined party to place candidates on the ballot, and taking it from the hands of the grassroots to choose, flies in the face of a Constitutional Republic.

No Problem there just make sure the popular vote

isn't based on rigged Diebolds or stolen ballots or disenfranchised delegates....No Problem..

Just one last kick in the nuts, then a final deathblow

In the "Lawyers for Ron Paul"

In the "Lawyers for Ron Paul" lawsuit, 7th circuit court judge David Carter tentatively ruled that Richard Gilbert was right on the federal election law; that the delegates are not bound to anyone and can vote their conscience. It's not a final ruling but wouldn't it be supreme to all this? When the judge ruled on this, the RNC attorneys told the judge they were going to do whatever they wanted no matter what he said. According to one of the radio shows about the case, it was said that the judge was shocked at what the RNC attorneys said to him. So basically, is this what they were referring to by doing whatever they wanted? They read the federal election wording and it said delegates could not be intimidated or coerced or anything in making their decision on a candidate. If what the judge said was true, everything the RNC and GOP are doing needs to be dealt with.

It was in the 9th Circuit Court

It is a tentative Ruling per Federal Judge Carter, essentially a re-confirmation of an existing law which already lawfully allows for the unbinding of all national delegates prior to a National Election. The Declatory Writ, a response from the expected appeal from the Romney Camp I believe is in Litigation Limbo for a couple of days but shoud be definitively resolved by the first day of the Tampa Convention.I can only hope and pray that the L4RP will be able to secure U. S. Marshalls in, around, near and ultimately throughout the Republican National Convention in Tampa to simply counteract the ridiclous security measures for which the RNC and the National GOP will take this game ( to extraordinary measures and for this I have no doubt. I strongly believe Dr. Paul and his many, many supporters will (without any doubt whatsoever) require the utmost in security safety resulting in a powerful counter-defensive (i.e. U.S. Marshalls present to oversee the Federal Injunction Court Order is lawfully bound to. Anything per the RNC/GOP otherwise is a willful unlawful violation of Judge's Carter Federal Injunction Lawsuit. And can then be acted upon accordingly.

Great catch!

Our delegates on the floor need to flyer the floor with copies of Romney's argument in federal court in 2008 trying to get the delegates unbound from McCain!

Put the current lawyers statement on the other side and the 2008 statement on the front side to show Mr. Flip Flop at his best (/worst).

Not even close to being accurate

Although something like that was written on a certain highly entertaining twitter stream, and asserted by someone other than the judge in certain interviews, if you read what the judge himself has actually written you won't find anything remotely like that. What you'll find is the judge ripping the complaint to shreds. A claim was made about a "tentative ruling" but such ruling ever turned up in the official documents.

The judge may or may not have been shocked about something the RNC attorney said, but the transcript hasn't been posted and so all you have for that is the word of the same person who claimed that there was a "tentative ruling" when there doesn't actually seem to have been one.

What the judge actually wrote, in everything that's been posted so far, mostly just rips the complaint and the amended complaint to shreds. "Incomprehensible" and so on.

I want to see this new rule - THIS IS TERRIBLE

This is SO BAD.

This is the epitome of mob rule and against Republicanism, both big and small "r".

Small r republicanism MEANS, by its very DEFINITION, that locals elect people to whom they DELEGATE THEIR POWER to vote at the next level up.

That's what the word republican MEANS.

This change forever changes the Republican party, formally now, into the Democrat party.

For this alone Rmoney needs to be run out.

We need a new party in this country

This means that for future elections, the delegates mean nothing

The algorithms within the electronic voting machines have always been tampered with to favor the selected candidates. The delegate strategy was a way to combat that. In future elections, because of this rule, even if the candidate has the support of the delegates, it will make little difference in the election results. Like we have seen all through this election cycle, the public has rallied (literally) to Ron Paul but the voting machines showed a different result. Now the game is rigged even further for the elite's selected candidates. They are crushing the ability for the people to effect real constitutional change. This is part of something called the New World Order (if you dont know what it is, you should).

"Those who vote decide nothing. Those who count (or fix, through algorithms) decide everything." Joseph Stalin (Russian dictator, mass murderer).

These are the types of people who fix the system. Wealthy industrialists who support a socialist world government system. This rule change makes it more difficult to combat there rigging. Those cheaters in the RNC will be consumed by the NWO as well. It will effect everyone. World laws, legislated & enforced by a world bureaucratic governmental system & marketed as if it is necessary to maintain a free society will be the new serfdom.

The one factor that the globalist elites ignore in all of their plans is the power of God. This brings great hope! God is patient & enduring, but God will not be mocked. God sees the deeds of the wicked & vengeance is Gods. If you do the math, the globalists are in deep, deep sauce, perhaps not in this life, but at Gods judgment of the human race on the last day. That should evoke fear in the hearts of those who seek a New World Order, but it does not. They are blind leading the blind & they invent ways of doing evil.

Knew this and more was coming.

You had to of known these type of changes were coming. I knew the GOP would change way delegates were awarded..voted on...distributed and would be based on rigged primary results. I also think you will probably see the end of caucuses soon and the GOP would just go to purely electronic primary ( rigged ) primary voting. You can also count on the GOP sending in fake liberty candidates and infiltrating the revolution to where you wont be able to tell the real candidates from the fake ones. No one will have the history of voting records to look at like the good Dr. did.

The only way this continues to change in our favor is by infiltrating and taking over the GOP, not going third party. Then, we get to change the rules and make them fair. They are counting on Ron Paul's retirement and our passion and longevity tailing off.

In order for this to work, we will need several liberty candidates running for President and participating in debates. We will need to eventually take over congress. We will need more programs on cable news similar to Freedom Watch and Ben Swann's Reality Check. We will need the local police, military, our national security departments to awake from within and make changes ( hopefully arrest ). We will need to continue to awake people from the matrix by the millions.

Stay on target.

it's ironic because there

it's ironic because there won't even be elections in 2016

oh, there will always be elections

But they are the ones counting the votes however they wish. Remmeber how the Iraqis always re-elected Saddam with 99.99% of the vote?.....

So What

They can pass any useless rules they want. It's laughable seeing that they have shown that they don't follow their own rules anyways when they work against them..Try as they may, they are done and many that have watched this go down over the last 8 years have vowed to work hard to make the GOP a thing of the past. To make sure that they are always countered and make sure that everyone knows that they are a joke and cannot be trusted.

I'm just curious if the Dems are going to try and actually keep their nose clean to make the GOP look even worse or are they also so deep in corruption and fraud themselves they are going to have to play the same games and destroy themselves as well..

All of this actually could be a blessing in disguise because in the end this two party monopoly coupled with their bought and paid for Media mouthpiece has become the running joke of this nation. I know none in my life that has any faith or trust anymore in the system above. Which is something I couldn't say 10 years ago.

"I have found that being rich is not about having the most but about needing the least"

Oh, they didn't mention

Oh, they didn't mention Maine! Could it because Ron actually won Maine and big at the beauty contest?? ;)

Let's get our people in there in 4 years. We can overturn everything then.

We need supporters to run for local positions or support those currently running.

We already...

We already have a MUCH stronger presence all over the country, within the power positions. We still have a long way to go, but we are doing an excellent job of getting the "good guys" in there.

time to move to new zealand

its the end for america

Talk to Vinny Eastwood First

Vinny lives in New Zealand and has a radio show at http://americanfreedomradio.com

If you listen to him New Zealand is worse off than we are in the US. Plus you will be a "subject" of the Queen of England. We already won that struggle here in the US.

Stay here with us and do not quit before the miracle!

This is what CA does

Romney's campaign is out of CA.. go figure.

There actions are

Their actions are predictable. Whatever process that gives more control to the people will be squashed. We are a pure democracy not a republic and this from the republican party? The republican party has been taken over.

a strong libertarian party is our only hope.

9 votes needed to reverse.

Enables Corruption

This enables corruption. The media can now completely control the vote. Sad sad day... but something in my gut tells me this current system can't last much longer. I'm optimistic. It just feels like the days of the dual-party system are coming to an end.

I hope.

Now that Ron is gone

Never again will the Republican establishment allow the possibility of a Liberty candidate gaining any traction in the GOP.

We need to face the fact that the fix is in and build something else that we *do* control.

If You Weren't So Defeatist

I'd invite you to join the LP.

The fact is, this is a marathon, not a sprint. The "Republican establishment" has begun to change, with Ron Paul supporters taking over in many places.

I understand your frustration. I knew that they were against freedom 30 years ago, which is why I'm not a Republican, but that doesn't mean the tide can't change (it was just going too slow for me).

My goal is nothing less than three liberty-defending candidates on the ballot for every office so the voters can't screw it up too badly. It would also be a sign that the politically active see value in freedom.

The LP has gone to court to prevent our candidates being chosen by popular vote: we don't trust the public to choose candidates to express our party's values. The Court agreed: our "speech" can't be forced upon us, and we have a right to associate with members of our own chosing, and to nominate and support our candidates.

Foolish of the GOP to have their values decided by non-participating strangers.

What do you think? http://consequeries.com/

I'm not a defeatist

But a realist when it comes to the Republican Party. Ron Paul, once he became a threat, was *never* going to get a fair shake. It is unrealistic to think that libertarians of any stripe could be successful in a party overwhelmingly dominated by neocons, theocrats and corporate looters. Nothing in common and no room to compromise.

I hope you are not disappointed but I first joined the LP in 1980 and was part of the effort, among other things, to recruit Ron Paul as the LP candidate in 1987 and was LNC finance chair during the campaign. I've been on the "inactive/retired" list until recently. FWIW, I think the LP system of an overtly open convention is superior and a whole lot more meaningful than the farce used by the Dems and Reps.

in regards to your last

in regards to your last paragraph, is that the same grounds the GOP uses in determining who they select as the nominee?
