RNC Foul Play Assures Ron Paul Supporters Will Not Vote Romney
Submitted by McWilly on Fri, 08/24/2012 - 14:24There has been an ongoing battle between Ron Paul supporters and the now visibly corrupt and morally bankrupt GOP over Ron Paul’s delegate count and rightful spot speaking at the Republican National Convention upcoming. Through the continued efforts of the GOP to stymie Ron Paul and his supporters via any means necessary, legal or not, they have assured that no Ron Paul supporter will vote for their preemptively anointed candidate come election time.
Throughout Dr. Paul’s campaign, the GOP has played dirty. Instances of blocking Ron Paul supporters from voting, intimidation of RP supporters, violence and outright vote fraud have all come to light. The terrified fatcats of the GOP will do everything and anything in their power to stop Ron Paul from gaining any fair shot at the Presidency. And now even a chance to speak his mind at the RNC, which he should be assured a rightful spot at due to his amassed delegates, has been stripped away and replaced with an insulting “tribute” from the Romney camp.

I think if I were a delegate
I think if I were a delegate right now, I'd consider not going. I'm so frustrated at all our thwarted efforts to play by the rules, only to be denied by the rule makers. Can't win a rigged game. Guess I'll just stock up on ammo and wait for the knock at the door.
Tribute is Nothing More Than Romney Thinking He Will Get Our
Votes. Never in a hundred years would I ever consider voting for Mitt, the most corrupt, lying, flip flopper on earth. He thought he could control the outcome of this convention and he has but making sure Ron Paul did not get his 5 states, therefore he could not be nominated and get his 15 minutes because Mitt knows it is Ron that could win the hearts of delegates and win the nomination.

This doesn't make any sense
Why would Romney even do this? Unless Ron Paul is closer to winning than we imagine...
Otherwise, it seems like he should just let Paul have the few hundred delegates that he earned, and try to have unity and respect in the party. That way he would pick up at least SOME of the votes of Ron Paul supporters in Maine, Minnesota, Iowa, Nevada, New Hampshire, Colorado and other swing states with a lot of Ron Paul supporters.
This strategy, though, burns the bridges, ensures that hardly any of the Paul supporters will vote for Romney (and some will even vote for Obummer out of spite) and will all but ensure losses in all of those swing states. It just doesn't seem to make any sense.
Romney is thinking mostly of November
It makes sense if their polling/research says that Paul supporters are unlikely to swing to Romney if they try to placate or incorporate them. Romney's team is probably trying to balance the image of "division" in the GOP (which they seem to believe will hurt Romney) with including the Paul camp in the GOP (which they know the party needs in the long term). They are partial toward their guy winning, so they're going to do a lot of things that will make us mad. Even if we don't agree with the strategy, they are playing the way that they think will give them the best chance to win in November.

wake up. Romeny has no real base support. He would have never won in the first place. By forcefully shoving in our throats the nomination of Romney, the Republicans have already lost in November. They keep digging their own grave. So be it.

I really think the GOP's
I really think the GOP's strategy is to lose, this is why they have force-fed Romney upon Republicans. If the collapse is inevitable and imminent, they would like that to happen on Obama/The Dems watch, and then position themselves to be there to pick up the pieces in 2016...But The Liberty Movement needs to halt the GOP's future scheming in their tracks.
The Liberty Movement needs to be the ones people look to for an answer - so, regardless of the outcome of Tampa, we afford cannot to relax, or to stop educating. We cannot stop talking and pointing out all the inequities we see everyday.
Like Ron Paul says,"Keep talking, they cannot unhear what you say."

I agree with you. But Romney and the establishment don't, so they're going to do what they think is the best strategy. I think their reasoning is plain enough, based on their statements and actions. I was just trying to answer the question of "why?" not "should they?".
So, should they? No, of course not, they ought to nominate Ron Paul in his place. Convincing them of that is a challenge, though...

I agree, but I think they are making a colossal mistake. Not only will they lose some votes from Paul supporters, but some will now vote for Obummer out of spite.
Unless Dr. Paul is going to endorse Romney...but somehow I doubt that would do much except to cause Paul's supporters to start looking for a new champion.

You know....I'm rather enjoying all this. I used to work for ABC, PBS, and government/military access television stations. I've been having a ball using the internet alternative media to virally spread the truth. The RNC and GOP must be out of their minds! Do they really not understand how fast news travels?
