RNC Platform Reported to Say: Audit the Fed, Return to the Gold Standard

US Republican platform said to eye return to gold standard

Aug 23 (Reuters) - The Republican Party is set to call for the creation of a commission to look at restoring a link between the U.S. dollar and gold severed 40 years ago, the Financial Times reported on its website Thursday.

Drafts of the party platform to be adopted at the Republican National Convention next week in Tampa, Florida, also call for an audit of Federal Reserve monetary policy, the paper said.

Marsha Blackburn, a Republican congresswoman from Tennessee and co-chair of the platform committee, was quoted as saying these points are not an effort to placate libertarian Representative Ron Paul and the delegates he picked up during his campaign for the party's nomination.

"These were adopted because they are things that Republicans agree on," Blackburn told the Times. "The House (of Representatives) recently passed a bill on this, and this is something that we think needs to be done."

This is lip service and nothing more...

... just like the GOP says it's platform includes pushing for limited government but does the opposite.

Only fools would believe that either party would follow the mantra's they promulgate when all they have proven through their history and actions is that they have no principles or honor whatsoever.

More lies for the sheep to happily ingest.

You are right. Lip service is the right answer, IMO.

The RNC lies, Romney lies, and they all seem to lie. They can't be trusted no matter what say, especially with this election close at hand.

The FED will self implode

and the dollar will collapse. So what do they pretend to offer?

The only reason Mittens would support this

Is if TPTB instructed him to, I am now kinda weary of a "fed audit" given all we know about the current petro-dollar paradigm, and the move for a consolidated world banking system, it could just be a ploy to self-implode the current FED and replace it with a FED of the world or something...I just don't trust it anymore. They could use that narrative to their advantage, and to push through their ultimate agenda.

Good thing that adding these to the platform is not an attempt

to placate Ron Paul supporters, because I am not placated. Platform means nothing if the head of the party doesn't embrace it...

Attention All Delegates! Break your "Binds" and vote for the Constitution in Tampa! Ron Paul 2012

The thing I care about most

is bringing our troops home and stop policing the world, but auditing the fed and sound money is a close second. Unfortunately, Romney won't follow the platform if elected. It wouldn't even surprise me if he dropped the platform immediately. It will have to be the next liberty candidate who makes the platform into policy.

bringing all of our troops home

would completely crash the dollar. The main reason we are in the middle east in the first place is to basically FORCE OPEC to sell their precious oil for our worthless dollars that we print by the trillions. If they did not face the threat of annihilation, there would be no reason for them to trade their oil in Federal Reserve notes. So there would be no need to "Audit the FED" if we brought all the troops home, cause it would implode anyways and cause hyperinflation.
