Reporting from Paul Fest Day 1 (Palin is in Tampa to Cause Brokered Convention)

Reporting from Paul Fest Day 1 (Palin is Tampa to Cause Brokered Convention)

Working my booth at the Paul Fest today, The Wealth Creation Revelation booth, Lew Rockwell was hanging out for a few hours in front of the booth. That was awesome. I am hearing the following via word of mouth:

1) There was a disinformation attack on RP. Reports were leaked that RP conceded and said that if he won the nomination he would not accept it. The report was unfounded; Ron Paul himself came out and made a follow up statement saying that if is nominated HE WILL ACCEPT THE NOMINATION.

2) Sara Palin is in town and playing games, she is trying to steal the nomination, she sent out packets to all of the delegates asking them to vote for her if there is a brokered convention and she is trying to cause a brokered convention. I spoke to delegates at my booth who said they received the packet. None of our delegates will vote for her, putting my dislike for her aside, if she helps with a brokered convention I am fine with it because I think we could win a brokered convention.

3) Gingrich released his delegates today! And a delegate told me they are expecting Santorum to release his soon!

4) A North Carolina delegate told that there was some shuffling of delegates and North Carolina picked up a few more RP delegates.

here is the latest from Deb Wells I just got

It wasn't her that said it. But here is a snip from the email she sent just now:

9) Floor Operations

We will have easily-identifiable staff on the floor with walkie-talkies. They will do their best to keep you informed. You’ll also be kept up to speed through text messaging.

10) Voting

If you’re a delegate in an un-bound state, you are free to vote your conscience on the Republican nomination.

But please note, we do not have the five states necessary to nominate Dr. Paul, and he has expressed a desire not to be nominated since it is clear we don’t have the numbers to win a floor fight.

I hope this clears up any questions you may have!

Misinformation Again? Ron Will Accept the Nomination if

nominated, per the campaign today. Last night's conference call a staff member, gave misinformation that Paul would not accept nomination.

I will go with Ron will accept the nomination is nominated. That is why we are in Tampa, It is all about the delegates as Paul has been saying all along.

A.Hansen

I'm trying to tell you I got it again from Debbie Hopper this morning.
I AM NOT TRYING TO DISSUADE ANYONE FROM NOT VOTING FOR RON PAUL!!
I AM SHARING THIS BECAUSE I THINK IT IS AN OUTRAGE!!!

Subject: Everything You Need to Know - Correction

Last night's email had incorrect directions to the USF Sun Dome. The correct location is in the email below. Please accept our apologies.

Dear XXXXX,

To make sure everything runs smoothly going into this weekend’s events and next week’s Republican National Convention, I’ve put together a brief list of items for you below.

As you’ll see, many of these items were addressed on this past week’s conference calls, but I just wanted to guarantee we’re all on the same page!

1) Sun Dome “We Are the Future Rally”

As a delegate or alternate, you will be a VIP at the Sun Dome event.

You should have received an email from Eventbrite with a link to print out your ticket. Please be sure to bring your printed ticket to Gate C on Sunday morning in order to get your VIP wristband and access the VIP area.

If you were a properly elected delegate or alternate, but were stripped of your status by the RNC in the past few days, you still have VIP status with us!

However, due to space limitations, your RNC-credentialed guests will not be able to access the VIP area. They will have VIP preferred seating on the arena floor directly in front of the stage if you have already reserved a ticket for them. They must bring their ticket in order to access the preferred seating area.

Remember, doors open at 10:15 am. You can get directions HERE.

Complimentary beer, wine, and refreshments will be provided to you at the Sun Dome.

Please note that due to the RNC making a last-minute decision that would require all our buses to undergo security screening to get to Tropicana Field, we will no longer be able to provide transportation to their Opening Ceremonies Sunday night.

If you want to attend the Opening Ceremonies at Tropicana Field, you will have to ride with your delegation from your host hotel – meaning you won’t be able to see Ron Paul deliver the speech the RNC doesn't want America to hear.

2) Whiskey Joe’s

We’re having a private dinner and photo opportunity with Ron Paul at Whiskey Joe’s from 6:00 – 8:00 pm for delegates and alternates.

But please note, you must have already RSVP’d in order to be able to attend the dinner.

The wristband you’re given at the Sun Dome will serve as your ticket to get in the door at Whiskey Joe’s.

Due to space limitations, the private dinner and photo opportunity are for delegates and alternates only.

However, there is a tiki bar outside on the beach where your guest can hang out, have a drink, and catch a bite to eat during the dinner - provided you have RSPV’d for them.

Doors will open to the public at 8:00 pm, and we’ll have live music outside on the beach.

3) Bus Transportation

The Ron Paul campaign will provide bus transportation for you and your credentialed RNC guest from your host hotel to the Sun Dome rally, from the Sun Dome to Whiskey Joe’s, and then back to your hotel at the end of the night.

You will receive another email that will deal solely with transportation and provide you with all the details you need to know.

Please note - you must have already RSVP’d for the bus transportation for yourself and any guest.

4) Ron Paul Iowa GOP Event

On Monday, August 27, from 8:30 am to 10:30 am, Dr. Paul will host a breakfast fundraiser for the Republican Party of Iowa along with Iowa GOP Chairman – and former Iowa Ron Paul Campaign Co-Chair - A.J. Spiker.

Click HERE to reserve your spot at the breakfast.

5) Rand Paul/Ted Cruz Iowa GOP Event

On Wednesday, August 29, at 8:30 am, Senator Rand Paul and Texas U.S. Senate candidate Ted Cruz will headline a breakfast reception in Tampa to help raise money for the Iowa GOP.

Click HERE to reserve your spot at the breakfast.

6) “Don’t-Miss” RNC Events

Senator Rand Paul’s speech will take place Monday evening at 8:30 pm.

The vote on the platform will happen Monday afternoon.

The Ron Paul tribute video the RNC is planning is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday.

Please see your delegation leader for a full list of RNC events you may want to attend.

7) Dress and Behavior

For our official campaign events, you’re free to wear your Ron Paul t-shirts or buttons.

Some RNC events will be business casual. The convention itself is more formal. Please contact your state delegation chair for dress-related questions about specific RNC events.

Remember that you’re representing Ron Paul as a delegate or alternate at the Republican National Convention, so please be respectful and try to carry yourself in the same manner as Dr. Paul.

8) Credentials

You will pick up your RNC credentials from your state party.

Remember, you will need to pick up new credentials each day. Contact your delegation chair for details on when and where to get your tickets.

If you have RNC-related questions, such as what items can be brought into the convention and to RNC events, contact your state delegation leader.
