Top 3 reasons the liberty movement failed

1. Ron paul never defended himself. Throughout the campaign we have seen it , the fraud , the abuse. Never once did ron paul call anybody out on it. Never once did ron paul stand up for himself. Sorry to tell you this but politics is dirty business , if you dont defend yourself you are going to get walked all over. And thats what ron paul and the campaign allowed them to do , walk all over us.

What if ron paul had gone off during one of the fox interviews? Directly said on national television that there is active fraud going on? Some would falsely argue that it would be "blacked out". This is false because this is the wonderful thing about modern politics. The other side would take this clip and use it as ammunition against the republicans. If ron paul openly said he was being cheated out of the election , the left media would be playing that clip 24/7. This would have caused investigations from the outside , and it would have caused romney to be exposed for cheating.

2. Conspiracy theories.
This destoryed the credibility of the movement and its supporters completely. You may have your own opinions on this , but im not going to get into an argument about it. The average person on the street sees a ron paul supporter as a extremist who believes completely insane conspiracies about our government. The truther movement is the biggest culprit. Nobody is going to join a movement that thinks the government blew up the trade centers.

3. Letting the media get away with propaganda.
The campaign never adressed the fact that they were also being cheated out of the election by biased media coverage. Going forward (if this movement survives) this is priority number 1. You cannot , in 2012 , win an election without fair and equal media coverage. No amount of "grassroots" bullshit will ever change this fact. I suggest somebody make a high budget documentary on the media coverage of ron paul.

The "Liberty Movement" was NOTHING ron paul.

But the Tea Parties are alive and well and number in the 1000's across the globe.
Ron AND Rand Paul are Tea Partiers- anything else is MOCK liberty.

"OH NO! He has a SON?" Neoconservatives and Liberals EVERYWHERE!

Rand Paul 2016

The number one reason the liberty movement failed.

Commentators reporting ad nauseum that "this is why the liberty movement failed."

Well let it fail and be done with it.

Bowels have movement, they're full of crap also.

The top ONE reason...

The Top ONE Reason that Ron Paul did not get elected president (there was no "failure" of the liberty movement - it's growing...) was THE MEDIA !!!!!!!!!!!!

If you can't get on the boob-tube, you will NOT win any election in this dumbed-down environment. EVERY bit of media is bought and paid for by certain groups of people who want the status-quo to continue uninterrupted.

Beware the cult of "government"...

I think you left off an important one.

The American public doesn't like freedom. That requires they be responsible for themselves and don't use the power of government to exploit their fellow men.

Freedom doesn't compete well with a free lunch.

"Bend over and grab your ankles" should be etched in stone at the entrance to every government building and every government office.

You've hit the nail on the head.

Limitless government springs from the lazy, the dull-witted, the self-involved, the childish, the fearful, the corrupt and the incapable. These symptoms (and more) ensure a vicious circle of big government and a demanding public with mouths open, ready to receive their stipend.

O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

You fail when you stop

You fail when you stop trying. The greatest minds of all time failed many of times, learned from their mistakes, and never stopped trying to accomplish their goals.

"Failure is a great teacher"....someone once said....

In my book, the definition of failure is when a person stops trying, fails to give effort, and gives up the fight.

The cause for Liberty and Freedom will NEVERFAIL.

Never be afraid to ask simple questions.

The top three reasons Ron

The top three reasons Ron Paul did not get the Nomination:

1. Election Fraud
2. Election Fraud
3. Election Fraud

yup, big time

and media fraud, cheating, lying, stealing.

the idea is to grow the movement so massive that it cannot be ignored or marginalized.

biggest problem i see is that we live in an idiocracy controlled by the establishment, MIC, MSM.

The liberty movement is alive

The liberty movement is alive and well. Nothing to see here folks, move along...

The liberty collective can die. It just wants human sacrifice.

It wants the right to be in control and doesn't want to look bad.

Sometimes confused for a campaign of individual's seeking liberty.

It was not about an election... it IS about a movement.

... still moving.

Millions have been awakened.

Even those that have quit and given up, can still see through the Matrix.

Staircase wisdom

Liberty movement has not been doing great since its inception. Thanks to Ron Paul, it got to its peak performance so far - 150,000 write-in votes for RP and 2% votes for Libertarian party.

I agree with #2 point, though. Many GOP fiscal conservatives were turned off by our populists. Consider this - if 50% of our folks (Anarchists) turn the rest of our Libertarians off, what else can you expect? Many folks brought along things unrelated to Ron Paul and Libertarian movement - pacifism, conspiracies, promoting group "rights" (demands) of Palestinians, etc.

The true answer why Libertarian movement does not do well is because it itself has ideological limitations. Only Ayn Rand was able to understand WHY USA had lost capitalism and constitution and WHY Ron Paul ideas do not sell well under good economy.

I Can't Speak For Anyone Else

But that email from Ron saying we didn't have a chance to win and then Rand endorsing Rombombya took the wind out of my sails. I was flying high up until then. I haven't given up on the Liberty Movement but that stuff slowed me down for a while. Also seeing how the GOP keeps screwing the newcomers over bugs me pretty bad. I think we would be better off leaving the freaking parties and going with a different plan. Just my opinion. This is a war we are in and the pigs that run things aren't going down easy. Not sure what happened but it seems weird that we were going so great and then Bilderberg happened and down we went. Oh dear, I must be a conspiracy nut!

They were never going to let

They were never going to let him win. They told him that and that is why he put the kibosh on everything. We were gaining momentum...we were "winning". But they were never going to allow it.

I felt the same way but from what I understand that wasn't really talked about, unless I missed a forum post way back when.

#1 The FED

The FED and its ability to endlessly fund any extravgent spending .. be Free money welfare or warfare ... Hard to compete when they can bribe anyone with anything

Oh Sorry, the FED is a conspiracy of private banking cartel. Damn it really is a government agency put in place to produce employment and keep inflation low, my bad

A movement cannot fail...

... the people in the movement can quit, but that is it. One man refusing to give up is a movement.

The three items in the OP handled differently would not have changed anything.

We are dealing with criminals.

I am not quitting and Liberty is still thriving.

Just for the record, does the OP have the ability to foresee the future in other aspects of life or is this truly amazing vision for how things might have been limited to the three items listed?

Liberty = Responsibility

Tea Parties are ALIVE and well with 1000's all over the GLOBE

"OH NO! He has a SON?" Neoconservatives and Liberals EVERYWHERE!

Only Thousands?

I have a feeling it's a lot more than that! (Globe Wise)

The only reason is that the political system is corrupt.

Your reasons are irrelevant fringe issues. They divide us not unite, IMO.

It failed?

I must have missed the memo. I thought we were still pursuing liberty. That sucks I don't want to be a socialist.

The bold effort the present bank had made to control the government ... are but premonitions of the fate that await the American people should they be deluded into a perpetuation of this institution or the establishment of another like it-Andrew Jackson

If it does fail...

...it will primarily be due to many who 'make up' this purported movement who do not adhere to the fundamental principles of liberty, let alone actually even understand them.

There will, of course, always be men who not only understand them and stand rock-solid and unwavering on them, but who will, when it is ultimately necessary, defend them by any means.

Right now you merely see such men bluntly pointing out the faux and the misunderstood and the ignorance and the false advocacy.

Failed??? We're just getting started.

The movement is young, the rEVOLution is just beginning to ramp up and hit the mainstream.

The individual who refuses to defend his rights when called by his Government, deserves to be a slave, and must be punished as an enemy of his country and friend to her foe. - Andrew Jackson

It's a deep subject. The movement didn't fail completely, many people have been enlightened. I think the biggest problem we had was using the GOP as our vehicle. "Taking over the Party from within" was a waste of time. I think in order for the movement to grow and thrive, we need to recognize that mnay devoted Patriots would absolutely never register as a Republican or vote for a Republican. Asking a Patroit to become a Republican will never get us where we need to go. I think a third Party can emerge in America as evidenced by the fact that persons registered Independant now exceed the registration as Dems or Repubs. The Party could simply be called the Independants and we would have 40% already. Remember the wingnut Republicans actually voted for Peeping Rick Santorum. Forget about using the Republican Party as the vehicle and we can unite under a more pure and meaningful banner. Ron is not partial to Republicans, he used them to get his message out and they did everything they could to distort and demean it. Dump the chumps. The Independant Patriot Party.

Impossible with current ballot access laws in place.

That's why Ron Paul came back to the GOP after running on the LP ticket. He recognized that the system is rigged and only the two 'major' parties have the infrastructure to run successful presidential candidates.

The bogeyman that people around here call "The GOP" is a stack of paperwork...some Articles of Incorporation filed somewhere. It's paperwork. There are people who occupy the positions of power spelled out in that paperwork. Those people--the ones who are willing to show up and do the slogging required to run a political party--are the ones who determine its character or lack thereof.

If Liberty people don't show up, don't participate, don't run, and don't vote, we get the GOP and the government we deserve.

The movement hasn't failed. It's time to act like grown-ups and take the significant gains we've made into the future.
