B.S. ALERT! 9,300 at Romney Rally? Really? LOOK here!

The talking heads on radio, the t.v. pundits, and newspapers all touted this week how HUGE the crowd was at Romney's 'homecoming rally' in Michigan this week, claiming 9300 in attendance. REALLY? 9300? Here's a shot of that 'huge' crowd:

Now here's the Ron Paul Rally at Michigan State University earlier this year, with a reported 4,000 in attendance..

So, is this "Romney momentum" real, or just a propaganda campaign? The pictures don't lie, do they? You decide.

According to local news

... it was only "hundreds"... lol

Here are some more angles of the crowd pics, as well as the "hundreds" reference:

All politics are local. Newspapers discarded locally as well.

Summary: News Via Carrier Pigeon ~ Antiquity to 1912

====================================================================
The hallowed history of the carrier pigeon - NY Times
By Mary Blume

PARIS — The attractive little Musée de la Poste in the Montparnasse neighborhood has for 20 years been showing objects related to the admirable French postal system — many, many stamps, of course, but also the story of mail delivery through the ages, as well as such objects as the metal pincer that until the mid-19th century held letters from plague-stricken regions while they were disinfected in boiling vinegar.

The museum has recently surged into high drama with a story of unsung heroism and sacrifice: a temporary show called "Pigeon Vole!" (Fly, Pigeon!) dedicated to the carrier pigeon. It is a small, rather summary show because the museum frankly did not realize how interesting the subject was. It will be featured this spring in a television program on the French-German cultural channel Arte.

The first message-bearing pigeon was loosed by Noah. The ancient Romans used pigeons for chariot races, to tell owners how their entries had placed. Genghis Khan established pigeon relay posts across and Asia and much of Eastern Europe. Charlemagne made pigeon-raising the exclusive privilege of nobility. The Rothschild fortune is said to have been seriously augmented by a pigeon bearing news of the British victory at Waterloo. But it was in the Siege of Paris in 1870 that the carrier pigeon won its wings.

Good reason

For Mittens not to attempt a rally. True support? Optics?

Without an actual head count,

Without an actual head count, this comparison is impossible. The angles are completely different. Paul's gives the illusion that there are more people than their are, since it fills the frame. Romney's is taken from a high angle, which can have the effect of making it seem like the rally is smaller than it is. That doesn't negate the fact that Romney has paid people to show up and hold signs for rallies before or the fact that Paul packs houses from coast to coast without being the presumptive nominee, but comparing these two pictures is not an accurate way to show that disparity.

"Presumptive nominee?" What are we voting for?

"Disparity" is clearly shown. The Ron Paul rally likely has a gate count. ... The Mr R pretend 'OK Corral' might not.

The heavens have not spoken to me on this matter.

Did you (or anyone) read my post?

I said that Paul is packing more supporters and more enthusiastic supporters than Romney, and he was doing it before Romney had the extra "clout" of being assumed to be the GOP nominee for president.

The problem is that if we want to use accurate comparisons, this is not a very good way to do it. Optically, the picture of the Paul rally creates an illusion of full-ness that the Romney picture does not. It's not a fair way to compare their crowds at face value. If we care about accuracy (and maybe I am the only one who does) then this is not a good way to make our case that Paul draws bigger, more enthusiastic crowds than Romney.

Yes I did read your comments. You wrote them well.

I found your words to convey thoughtful fair assessment of the situation. I saw no contrary reasoning.

My comments focused on two points.

The deceptive use of the word combination, "presumptive nominee" is used by media ad nauseam to give the false impression that there will be only one candidate nominated, and that one is already a forgone conclusion. Unlikely, if you review history. Nomination takes one person standing up, being recognized & speaking the phrase, "I nominate Ron Paul for President." Where upon the presiding chairman (or officer) states, "There is a motion to nominate, "Ron Paul for President, do I hear a second?"

"Second!" roars the crowd. Thusly, Ron Paul may be nominated. The convoluted Republican Party rules be damned. What is the primary intended purpose of the Republican Party convention? What do our $18 million buy? To nominate candidates for President to represent the party against all other challengers. Each party typically nominates a few of their candidates for each offices. Then they commence to have run-off elections to determine which of the nominees will be on the final election ballot. The party rules would have you believe potential candidates must jump fences as daftly billy goats in Spring. Just ain't so.
....

"Disparity" of crowd size was clearly shown by comparing the two photographs. Assembled spectators were obviously way different. I did not raise an eyebrow about accuracy. I was amused by the widely varied estimates of crowd size. That I left to the gate count or other suitable means. An accurate count of folks in the picture was not necessary nor important for me.
....

My replies are not to challenge you; please continue to choose your words carefully... Especially those given to you by ones with evil designs.

Hold your head up. Your comments were so well grounded, that I choose to reply to you.

Homeland security statement: patriotism is now considered terrorism.
I love www.isidewith.com shared it with everyone I know. If anything they realize its not just a red and blue idiot running for reelection.

Yeah, it doesn't give that

Yeah, it doesn't give that impression to me either. But I'm not going to take the time to count the dots to check for sure ;)

no way

it looks like what a high school gymnasium would hold...basically a few hundred.

-vapaulsupporter

I think your right - I did a quick count

after I posted, and i struggled to get much over 1000

Yeah...and like how they will

Yeah...and like how they will report "hundreds or people" at a RP rally when it was thousands.

where are all the cars?

Judging by all the PRIME PARKING SPOTS left out by the road it looks like they were all just mobbed up and fenced in like cattle to look like more people.... but I did find "Waldo"

Pfft.. even if it were true..

Pfft.. even if it were true.. Ron Paul draws a crowd of 10,000 when he goes to the corner store for the morning paper.

Typo

I'm thinking 930, Max.

No 9300 or 93000 , it depends on where the banksta press

utilizes the fractional reserve method of the FED system of counting and multiplying.

With all due respect, I will no longer be a voting prostitute for Constitution rejecting harlots.

Folks feel they are just numbers to a bank.

Wise observation.

Bankers account for clients w/ compound interest.

Fractional reserve is the way they account to the banking system.
