Ron Paul urges his followers to stay engaged in GOP

TAMPA – Rep. Ron Paul is entering the twilight of his political career, but for the masses he inspired — the liberty movement marches on.

Thousands of the Texas Republican's followers filled the University of South Florida's Sun Dome to hear Paul speak on the eve of the Republican National Convention, a backdrop that served as a reminder for Paul's unsuccessful presidential campaigns and the reality that he is unlikely to seek the office again.

"It's just been great the experience I've had these past five years," Paul said. "The people now are waking up and realizing the failure that we have and why the ideas we have are coming about." He offered a forward-looking message to his supporters, encouraging them to continue until their views are the GOP mainstream. "We'll get into the tent believe me, because we will become the tent eventually," he said.

I won't support Flip Robme

but I will continue to work inside the GOP, and I will continue to work to elect liberty-minded candidates to the US Congress and Senate.

(I'm not surprised by recent events. I could relate stories illustrating how the GOP has suffered under Fascist influences for a long time. However, I believe by 2016 we will indeed have control and the GOP will once again have a true liberty agenda. Follow Dr. Paul's advice and don't give up.)

this is precisely the disinfo that i am talking about

this blog was written shortly after tyler durden quoted paul out of context which blew up on here and ronpaulforums.

in a recent interview with bloomberg paul was asked what he thought about his party. he responded like any humble person would. he said he doesn't own the party. he doesn't take responsibility for their choices. he said, "it's not MY party." emphasis on MY.

so some knucklhead posted the headline on here, "paul: gop not my party" which was misconstrued to mean he was endorsing quitting the GOP. but after repeat attempts to get any mod to correct it, they allowed the false rumor to fester and spin out of control.

your faith in that examiner blog is a result of willful ignorance, in part mostly by the moderators who continue to allow this out of context charade to continue.

i would even go as far to suggest this article would never had been written had a mod had the courage to step up and put a stop to it. said author would not have regurgitated it like it was actual news.

Regarding stay engaged...

I am proposing an idea, a plan, something positive and actionable that takes advantage of this moment and sets the stage for a continued fight.

September 17th is coming.

timely bump

the fact that this was never front paged shows mods are compliant in disinfo campaign currently underway.

C'mon Troy

Give the mods a break. There are only a tiny handful of them, and I believe (assume) MN is responsible for what gets frontpaged, not them. There is no grand conspiracy here.

There have been a lot of developments that have happened since the RNC. The biggest one of them is how they treated our delegates and RP. They successfully changed the rules to basically allow themselves to rule from the top as they have already proven they will do anyway.

Please don't dump this on the mods or MN's shoulders. They have lives and families and many other responsibilities outside of the DP. They do this because they care about the future of this country, like we do, not because they are getting rich.

Cut them some slack is all I'm asking. We're all angry and upset over the way that many things have turned out. Let's (myself included) try not to take that out on each other.

ill forgive them when they stop aiding and abeting the 'rumor'

the front page conference call advert is directly responsible for the flood of phone calls paul is about to get.

please give up your long-term goal of starting locally and bringing the gop back to its roots.

please leave everyone out to dry and return the party back to the neocons.

please blow it all on some fat chance that you'd win with a johnson ticket.

you wouldn't support it if RP was Prez and Johnson (or Judge Nap) was on as VP?

How much time do you think we have left? These people are gearing up for WWIII. We are staring down the barrel of a financial collapse.

Sorry, but I'm just not as optimistic as you are about changing the GOP when they just circled the wagons in the manner they have. It would seem like we could have the plurality in 50 states and they would do the SAME thing at the National level.

Paul would have every right to say "I didn't leave the GOP. The GOP left me."

they said that 4 years ago, too

if paul ran 3rd party 4 years ago then we would have been ineffectual today.

no nevada. no minnesota. no iowa. no maine. nothing.

you are willing to throw it all away on the idea that only a president ron paul can save us.

and for you to think only a president can change things means you've already forgotten the first lesson of liberty.

Jefferson's picture

I may

have given that impression, but no I don't think a President can save us. I would rather make an attempt at having some we can trust when the SHTF though.

I simply feel like we are in the same cycle as when Perot ran. People are sick of BOTH parties, and the independents are the fastest growing voting block out there. The R's and D's have been bleeding supporters as fast as the indy's can gain them.

You mention all those states, but they got punked at the RNC.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. It's late here and I don't have the brain power to hash this out.

we will become the 10 fat people as long as we dont bail out now

if this was 92 i would agree with you

but perot taught the establishment a very valuable lesson. afterwards, the two-party duopoly changed the rules so that a third party would never become a threat ever again.

the rules changed. third-party is a pipe dream. nader proved that marvelously.

you are throwing it all away.

not front paged yet?

Couldn't agree more

We have made enormous advances in many state GOP parties and have to continue the fight. I can't wait to see what the 2016 election will look like when we have control of the state parties and can use our position to ensure the primaries/caucuses are handled fairly in the states we will control. We need to focus on electing liberty minded national committeeman/woman for each state since they are super delegates and could give us a huge boost in the next cycle.

vote this thread up

front page.

He offered a forward-looking message to his supporters, encouraging them to continue until their views are the GOP mainstream. "We'll get into the tent, believe me, because we will become the tent."

Finally a well titled thread!

So many stupid threads posted about abandoning the GOP...grrrr.

Finally, from Ron Paul himself. STAY IN THE GOP FOLKS! We are taking over. The rEVOLution is in full gear! Don't walk out on the rEVOLution; we've come so far.

I don't like politics nor am

I don't like politics nor am I competent in it.

But here's my interpretation, FWIW:

until Ron Paul is done/has become hopeless with the GOP, AND SAYS SO (*) I'd say : trust him to believe you/we can still storm into it and recall it about the Constitution and wake it up to the reality that corruption won't last forever, with a People's patience necessarily limited.

But again, I may be wrong.

For Liberty. Peace.

(*) which, btw, may not be more than 72 more hours to go/put up with... (Only History in the making knows)
