Michigan people you're doing a good job - New Polls!
I was all for Ron Paul focusing on Nevada until I saw the new Michigan polls. Ron Paul has climbed from 5 percent to between 8 and 9 percent. Three polls today show similar patterns.
Mitchell Reaserach (the least respectable) - Performed on January 9-10th. Margin of error 5%.
McCain 23%
Romney 17%
Huckabee 11%
Paul 8%
Giuliani 8%
Thompson 2%
Rasmussen - Performed on January 9.
Romney 26%
McCain 25%
Huckabee 17%
Thompson 9%
Paul 8%
Giuliani 6%
Interseting fact: They said 17% polled believe Paul was at least somewhat likely to win nomination.
American Res. Group Performed from January 9-11th, 500 Rep. Questioned; 100 Indep. Questioned, 4% margin of error
McCain 34%
Romney 27%
Huckabee 15%
Paul 9%
Undecided 6%
Giuliani 5%
Thompson 4%
Interesting fact: 8% of Rep. voted for Paul, 11% of Indep. voted for Paul. McCain grabed a whopping 43% of Indep.
So I say to the Michigan Paul supports that they're doing a fantastic job without any visits by Dr. Paul. Good for you and let's get this in double digits and beat Giuliani and Thompson AGAIN!

What???
What the hell are you people getting excited about?
Look who has double digits, that`s right, the same War Monger that New Hampshire voted for, and,is leading in SC.
For The Two Faced Lier to be leading anywhere is proof positive that the voting is fixed,or,Americans are War Loving People.
John McCain is a disgrace to other POW`S and Veterans everywhere.
Just to watch him turns my stomach.
Bottom Line..............Americans want to send their children to WAR,after all.
SO!! shut you mouth America,we see just what you want, and it ain`t peace.......it`s WAR,WAR,and, more WAR.
Fed Up Vet
Its not about Democrat or Republican..
Its about truth and lies and who is controlled and who is not..
Ron Paul is the ONLY truth speaker and he is NOT controlled... and when he says BRING THE TROOPS HOME...he IS NOT KIDDING!!
No other candidate not Obama and certainly not Clinton or Edwards are going to bring ALL OUR TROOPS HOME AND CHANGE OUR FOREIGN POLICY!!
THIS ELECTION ITS RON PAUL!!
Why We Cannot Trust True Democrats To Help Us
Collectivist thinkers will vote for McCain so the general election will between Democrat and Democrat-Lite.
Hillary has the anti-war vote. Obama gets a lot of the rest.
Converting Dems To Anti War Ron Paul
Since many Democrats will not bother voting in the primary because Obama and edwards are not on the ballot. They need to hear about Dr Pauls opposition to the war!
Please folks in Michigan make them aware of it! Convince them to vote in a primary really that matters.
How is that possible???
Hi!
I'm not American and I don't know much of the American voting system, but how is it possible, that candidates are not on the ballots???
Please explain. Thanks!
Because
Michigan moved up their primary date and therefore the RNC and DNC punished Michigan.
comment
I just wanted to say that Michigan historically has been a very difficult State to poll because of the demographics. You have the eastern side of the State which is heavily unionized and mostly Democratic, you have the western and northern parts including the upper peninsula which is Republican but a wide spectrum of Republicans and then you have the colleges which are even more diverse so polls really are meaningless here.
woo hoo!
woo hoo!
Yeah, heck of a job Brownie!
Let's get serious here! 8% is not good. Does anyone here know how many delegates are up for grabs in MI?

there are 17
So Michigan is even more insignificant than Wyoming?!
Why do we even care about MI? And RP with a swooping 8% and a possible cash shortage to face the February tsunami, I think we're better off focusing somewhere else where it really counts!

It ALL really counts
And yes, I am from Wyoming.
I am also a state delegate.
We are sending many to state and may I remind you that not one vote has YET been cast by any delegate for any candidate... note one will be done until Sept in Minneapolis/St Paul.
I don't believe any delegate is obligated to vote in Sept the way they are today. What happens when McCain drops out after Feb 5th... How about Hunter and Gulianni? Do their delegates still vote for them in a convention that is taking place 7 months after they quit?
smaller places matter... and all politics are local.

and Wyoming has 3
Check that...
Those are 3 ELECTORAL VOTES and not delegates going to the National GOP convention in MN in Sept.
If you are talking DELEGATES, Wyoming was penalized by the GOP because we moved the date of our county convention up to Jan 5th... we went from 28 to 14. We may get those back. Regardless, our system here alternates counties to send primary delegates and the counties that will send alternates. My county is sending a delegate to nationals and we are sending some RP friendly delegates to state and even more are alternates.
I am learning a bunch about the system, but don't minimize these "lesser" states... they all count and one educated person can convert MANY

My bad. I was thinking of IA.
What I'm trying to say here is that I don't think it would be in the interest of the Campaign in terms of funds to spend anything in MI with the possibility of scoring much better elsewhere. Particularly with the bad finances of the others (except Romney, of course!). Ron Paul's chances overall are pretty good but we need the money to win somewhere so we can increase our base. I don't think MI can help with that.
Local people in MI should keep it up, for sure but don't get disappointed with the end result. It might be another McCain stronghold. Let McCain get delegates that may end up voting for RP and get out of the race faster! I think it's a better strategy.

I sorta agree, but
he's actually has risen from 5% only days ago. The real breakthrough is to beat the Huckster. If Paul can somehow position himself 3rd in a bunch of these states, he can grab some delegates and cause some real problems for these suckers at the Convention.
good strategy
Because of the disaster the Dems have created for themselves here there will be TONS OF VOTES to spread around so Ron will do well without having spent time and money here. The young voters especially college students can't vote for Obama even if they intended to so who do you think they will vote for, and every person I have talked to or listened to here in Grand Rapids is voting for Dr. Paul except for a stray Romney supporter here and there. McPain and Huckaflea who are cash strapped have no support here from what I have seen and heard, Ghouliani and Thompson are broke and orbiting around Pluto so all said I'm excited about Tuesday.
That is so encouraging.
thank goodness for grassroots!

Brilliant article that explains why we love Dr. Paul:
http://lewrockwell.com/orig12/farber-r1.1.1.html
from what I can tell
the only candidates with cash to spend are Paul and Romney. All the others are broke and Romney has to use his own money. How can those other guys even be running campaigns?
I read on Drudge that Giuliani's top staffers are now working for no pay.
This crop of Republican candidates are so weak, I am convinced if Paul's campaign were being led by competent people we would really be kicking it.
Believe me, there are so
Believe me, there are so many of us frustrated to the point of bitter tears with the lack of proper organization in the organization. I don't know what else to do.

great job shaping up there!
Michigan RP Grassroot Supporters are Doing Great Work!!!
Reading all the comments from Michigan Ron Paul Grassroot Supporters this weekend is inspiring and a reminder of exactly what it means to be in this ReEOVLution.
We are all so proud and wish you well in Michigan!!!
Thank you for working so hard and long for Dr. Paul.
Actually on Monday we are...
Passing out slim jims to one of the largest factories in Michigan in Wayne.
The Ford Truck Plant, when they leave their shift. Thousands will get slim jims and a pat on the ass for voting RP baby!

We can get17%
If 17% say they're open to his message then we CAN GET THEM!
Let's go for 17%!!!
Ron Paul needs a better showing
9% in the fourth state isn't going to cut it. Urge Democrats who are running in their useless Michigan Primary to vote for Ron Paul.

Michigan is a State with
Michigan is a State with millions of Middle Eastern descent Americans. Christians and Muslims. They love the idea of pulling out U.S. troops from the whole Middle East. These are all independents. Most of them are going to vote for Ron Paul. Some may vote for Obama.

Obama isn't on the ballot
Obama isn't on the ballot because he withdrew when the Democratic party pulled the delegates from Michigan for voting early. Neither Edwards nor Obama are on the ballot, so a lot of the Independents may vote for Ron Paul in the Republican primary if they know their votes won't count in the Democratic primary.
MI
I am originally from MI. The big 3 factory workers will be very interested in RP's position on the NAU. We need to get the message out to them, they need Ron!
Nice work Michigan RP-ers!
Unfortunately
They have the unions telling them to vote democrat and most of them do since most of them are sheep. I've lived here (MI) my whole life and the union people always vote democrat and if you ask them why, they say it's the what the union said to do. Although I do think some are starting to wise up since our dumb ass governor Granholm is a dem.
On a positive note though, there are signs and stickers popping up everywhere around my city - just outside detroit. I went out with a couple friends last night and we put signs all over and noticed a lot more that others had put up.
Everyone that I know of that's going to vote are going to vote for Ron Paul. I've been telling the union workers that I know, to vote for Ron. Not sure if they will or not.
But the Dem's Primary
doesn't count because the DNC won't be seating any MI delegates. We need to get some Dems that know this fact to vote for RP even if for *Dem* reasons. Get my drift? They could bring in considerable RP votes!
