Romney

probably has his delegates locked in a hotel so they can't socialize with Ron Paulers.

DS

Delegation Sequestration.

Today is the day to take the first battle.

Good morning delegates, go out and make history.

I feel sorry ...

... for the band.

Not Me

The band was a bunch of old white duffers ........sing "Play that Funky Music White Boy"......I fell out of my chair laughing. Hell they were happy to get the gig! lol~!

Sorta reminded me of the

Sorta reminded me of the Ramada scene from The Blues Brothers.

Romney had at most what 600-800 bound delegates?

He knows that wasn't enough, but why this power play? It makes no sense.

He has to know that forcing bound delegates to vote for whom they are bound to, means he can ONLY guarantee those 600-800 votes.

But in order to secure these votes (against rumors of "stealth" delegates) Romney is going to LOSE most if not all of the officially unbound delegates.

Anyone who is going with Mitt by default, will be hard pressed to follow through with such a power grab.

In short, he just lost the nomination - no question.

It's all over but the counting.

BUT....

If the move was done in order to set up some sort of heavy handed use of police or military to forceably remove delegates who refuse to leave for voting their conscience, then the play makes more sense. They don't intend to win on a vote. They intend to win by arresting everyone who won't vote for him.

I also expect them to declare that an absolute majority is not needed. That only a majority of "acceptable" votes are needed. And that's only if they don't shoot for the above heavy handed scenario.

But if he makes a play for a show of physical force, he will then guarantee he will lose the election - especially if he plays heavy with the Texas delegation.

If the Texas delegates get arrested for bucking Romney - they will come home and announce they are not voting GOP in November. I even see massive and likely successful legal challenges in Texas as well to keep him off the ballot.

Once this happens at the RNC, if Romney was so stupid to attempt it, will bring out open revolt in state after state. The party will fragment, and who knows what might result.

Would various states put other GOP candidates on the ballot? Will some have Newt, Santorum, Paul even?

How far does the rift go?

If Levin is already jumping ship, if Hannity is already warming up, is Rush and O'Reilly not far behind? With that kind of pressure on talk radio to dump Mitt, can he even make it to Friday before being ousted?

He had nearly 1400 bound delegates

That's not something that is just my opinion or that is debatable. That's just the way it is.

You see Shazad is worried about it

He is up in the middle of the night.
He KNOWS Romney just made ANOTHER HUGE gaffe.

But we need to take advantage of it.
And we won't by just posting on here.

Get the word out to everyone who might help. emails and phone calls and anything else you can think of.
There is REBELLION against Romney brewing, with his heavy handed, if not brutal Stalinist tactics.
We have to make the rebellion grow.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help.

GOP Reps, Prebus - flood them with protests.
It won't happen if you don't help.
We have to take our shot. It' a long one - but it CAN be done.

"In the end, more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all -- security, comfort, and freedom. When ... the freedom they wished for was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free."

Yep - I'm frightened

What is your prediction on the final vote total this afternoon? How many votes does each candidate get? I bet I can guess closer than you can.

Can't sleep?

:)

"In the end, more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all -- security, comfort, and freedom. When ... the freedom they wished for was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free."

It's morning

I'd still love to see your answer to my question about delegate counts. Throw out a guess, without any caveats. What does Romney get, what does Paul get, what's the total for all other candidates combined?

Much will depend on how much activism there is in the Ron Paul

camp.
How many people actually do something practical to turn up the HEAT on Romney and Priebus.

You know that as much as I.

"In the end, more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all -- security, comfort, and freedom. When ... the freedom they wished for was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free."

Give me a number

Use your predictive powers to guess how successful they'll be in doing that. If you refuse that, then answer twice - once in the case that delegates get active, and once in the case that they don't.

Tell me why I should give you any info

that might in any tiny way help Romney?

I have my thoughts on the matter.
They will not be shared with the likes of you.

Why are you still supporting a GOP candidate

that CANNOT possibly beat Obama?
It will be an absolutely HORRENDOUS loss once Obama uses the info that is available against Mittens and tells Indie's.

Is Romney the WEAKEST candidate EVER put up by the Republican Party?
It must have been a VERY long time ago if there was.
I can't think of a weaker one in the last 50 years.

You seen the latest polls in Florida? Mitt nightmare.
And Crist endorsement isn't even reflected in them ....... yet.
It will only be a small effect but another 2 or 3 pts taken away from Romney.
Why the HELL did Romney pick loser Ryan?
Is he such an asshat that he couldn't work out that Ryan would seal Florida for Obama?
Several other Republicans could see that and have been more or less saying that in private.

Why Mittens will lose so BADLY.

At least half of the Romney supporters

around here are actually Obama people. They are well aware that Romney hasn't a chance against Obama while Ron Paul....well you know.

If not us than who?

Just answer the question

We'll see today if your blog has sufficiently convinced delegates to drop Romney and replace him with a candidate who almost all of them think has even less of a chance of beating Obama. Good luck on the roll call vote. What is your prediction?

You didn't answer my question

Why are you still supporting a candidate that is certain to lose against a weak opponent like Obama?

And lose HORRENDOUSLY when all the info comes out.
Obama will drip feed it out for maximum effect.

He has started with topics that have a long shelf life.
His ads are not very good at the moment.
Chicago will do better ones.

Thanks for the compliment BTW

if you think that my blog posts will influence the result.

It's a free country I choose not to

I have my ear to the ground to know what is actually going on in Tampa.
I don't see why I should tell you.

I will know better nearer the time of the vote.
It's going to be an interesting day don't you think?

I'm not threatening to throw

I'm not threatening to throw you in jail if you don't answer. I would just be interested. I'm going to be busy for the majority of the day and unfortunately will not be able to follow the convention until the evening. If you tell me that Paul is going to get 1300 votes I am not going to be able to go to Tampa and warn my buddy Mitt. I'm just interested in seeing what people's predictions are. If everyone keeps talking about how the result is in doubt I assume that means they think the vote will be close. How close, though?

Your main theme is correct

Your numbers are waaaay out.
And you are waaaaaaaaaay too optimistic.
We are long shots to stop Romney getting to 1144.
It CAN be done if EVERYBODY puts their backside into it.
It will do no good posting on here.

EVERYBODY needs to do their bit by hounding Romney and Prebus.
EVERYBODY has to help by sending a letter to Prebus and contacting their GOP Reps.

They cannot ignore uproar numbering in the thousands.
The will of the people will be heard if you shout it loud enough.
Are YOU going to shout?
Are YOU going to send a letter?
Or are you going to quietly accept the loss and do nothing to help?

BOUND

was the key word as to the rest of mitt's delegates, HAD would be the operative word now.

I don't mean to offend you in

I don't mean to offend you in any way, but I really, REALLY hope you're wrong. There will be riots if that happens.

AHH, Now I see what all the ammo is for

.

I hope I'm wrong too. I'm just calling it like I see it.

Was this power grab expected?

Did anyone expect there to be a move to establish a "party leader" in worse style than communists?

Did Hitler have this much power? (even he kept the trappings of 'law' to a point.)

This tells me there is more and worse to come.

This was an opening salvo.

It was not an endgame.

Couple this with bringing the National Guard in for "security" and the general sense that "something" is going to go down - and all I'm saying is, could this be 'it?'

I sure as hell hope not. Things will get mighty ugly if he pushes things that far.

Hopefully, the overnight efforts to join forces with other candidate supporters in the delegations, will win the day tomorrow and either defeat these rules and/or convince them to take "anyone but Mitt", open the Convention and "fight it out" (figuratively) over who the actual nominee will be.

I suspect some compromise at least at first between Newt, Palin and Paul. That seems to be the talk radio consensus right now.

Santorum could be brought in the fold, but I think there is too much trepidation about the religious right. Conservatives want to focus on fiscal issues right now. They know they need to do this to win in November.

The bigger question, if things cool down and the delegates take control of their convention, is "do they tag Paul Ryan with the sins of Romney?"

If not, he might end up the compromise candidate. If so, then of course, he'd be out as well.

There may come a time where he's put on the spot to either denounce Romney or suffer his fate. If he proactively denounces Romney - he could win over the convention. If he waits to be pressured, be might be given a pass, but I doubt he'd end up on the ticket when it's all over.

HAHAHA!!!!

No wonders its soo empty!

yes

I listened for a few minutes to that flaming a-hole Mark Levin tonight and he stated that Paul's people, and some others including Romney supporters are challenging the GOP rule that delegates can be unseated and replaced.

Surprisingly, Levin is on our side on this one. He even stated that Paul supporters earned their right to be delegates and can act freely to vote their conscious. Levin ranted in support of the convention having floor fights...said the convention is not supposed to be a coronation. Hmmmmmmm.....

Hahahahahahaha

Hahahahahahaha hahahahahahaha!
