How can Romney already have an acceptance speaking spot scheduled?

The RNC lists an actual TIME on Thursday for Romney to give his acceptance speech but the Roll Call isn't even until TUESDAY.

Does the RNC have special predictive powers???

Do they have a special crystal ball???

Maybe they hired a bunch of psychics.

Maybe they even know next week's lottery numbers.

What a special organization the RNC is.

Or maybe something a little dirtier is going on (as I suspect).

How? You're kidding, right?

Oh wait, what I meant to say was that I have some nice oceanfront property for sale in Utah.

You're kidding, right? Do you seriously think that the RNC would allow anyone other than Mittens to be their delegate? You don't seriously think that politics is about 'the people' actually having a say, do you? Wow, that is too bad. Welcome to reality, serf.

If Romney

is nominated, Obama wins.

Can't fight ObamaCare with RomneyCare or abortion with abortion, or debt vs. debt.

2 same candidates cancel each other out and the incumbant wins

Good point. Since they want to get a jump on things,

and they know it's Romney, why not just invite the president to give the acceptance speech?

When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the Universe.

There's nothing sinister

There's nothing sinister about this. More than enough delegates have committed to vote for Romney to guarantee the nomination. Its time for people to accept reality: Romney is the Republican nominee for President. Its time to move on to other battles!

Well at least you aren't saying he won fair and square, or are you?

Fair and square for what

Fair and square for what usually goes on in American politics = Yes
Fair and square for what usually goes on in the real world = No

So, since this election cycle is 'politics'

we take their lying, cheating, intimidation and just move on? Nothing sinister or out of the norm, we just move on... is that what you're saying? Where shall we move on to in your opinion, G.J.? No thanks.

I'm watching to see who will

I'm watching to see who will make the ballot in my home state. After I know that I'll decide who I'm going to vote for. I pro-life so I doubt I'll be voting for GJ. American politics (especially at this level)is a dirty nasty business. The American people already know that politics is dirty and they don't seem to care.
I suggest we keep on working for our issues and get stronger. Ron Paul is right eventually we'll be the tent or at least we'll control what goes on in the tent.

for the clarification.

You are welcome (thanks for asking)

BTW even though I understood why the Romney campaign did it, it still bothered me to see them push through the rules change and then not announce RP's votes. They don't understand that their desire for the appearance of party unity makes real unity harder.

No magic or voodoo here

He was promised the nomination 4 years ago when he stepped down to allow their pick, McCrazy to be the nominee. The corrupt GOP pretends to have 'debates' for a show, and their 'primaries' are just to make people feel like they are involved and have a voice, but the nominee is selected way ahead of time. But, people like Ron play along in order to at least get the liberty message out. But yeah, it's not a crystal ball or anything like that.

Dear "a-piece-of-the-" YOU NAILED IT. I've said this all along

I firmly believe (as you said), that Romney was promised the nomination by the rotted RNC back when hs stepped down for McCain in 2008.

It's dirty and illegal.

But you brought up a great point that Dr. Paul played along to get his voice heard.

I remember back when they asked him if he would run again in 2012 and Dr. Paul replied; "Yes - I would like to be part of the national dialogue."

That statement alone said a lot about him already knowing the eventual outcome but wanting to use the RNC and the national spotlight for his message.

So if what you said is true, then we all have been played for fools and suckers for a year and it looks like they got away with it.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."

Same reason that Ann Romney is scheduled to speak

while leaving out important people that actually matter and represent a large chunk of republican voters. No Dr. Paul, no Palin, etc. Can you say rigged???

Same reason that if a football team is winning the NFC Championship game 56-10 with a minute left, it's appropriate to pencil them in to a slot in the Super Bowl. It takes no super powers to predict the winner of this nomination.

So you don't see a problem with this???

Do you think this was planned yesterday???

The RNC has planned this for months - knowing all the while they would cheat Ron Paul out of any possible chance.

They are dirty - rotten liars.

Sounds like you're making excuses for their misdeeds.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul

What are you talking about?

That Romney would be the last speaker on the last day has been known for months. The winning candidate always speaks last. And there has been no reason since late April to pretend that it would be anyone but Romney. This is not a last minute change. He won a long time ago.

Romney didn't win ANYTHING a long time ago!!!

He is only a nominee until later TODAY - SAME AS Dr. Paul.

Obviously you are a Romney supporter all the way and you'll make excuses for the dirty RNC no matter what.

But Ron Paul NEVER ended his campaign and never dropped out or even suspended his campaign.

Either you don't know how the procedure is supposed to work, or you're making excuses for the cheating of the RNC.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul

It doesn't matter that Paul didn't end his campaign

Whether he ended it or not, Romney had already won. That's one reason Ron Paul keeps saying that Romney is going to be the nominee and that nothing can change that fact. That's pretty much a direct quote from his email.

"He won a long time ago."

Easily and comfortably accepting this is why due process will cease to exist. At least for most of America.

It is sad that many people have become sheep and welcome oppression with open arms.

But, as long as their [your] team "wins". Right?

"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul

That just doesn't follow

He didn't win by a coin flip or some arbitrary decision. He won because he got almost 5 times as many voters to vote for him as Ron Paul did, and the other candidates dropped out. He beat the competition, and the race was won several months ago. When my team loses by this margin I accept the loss as well.

You can be disappointed that he won - but he did win and the race really is finished.

I will

NEVER believe that Romney or any other Republican candidate, for that matter, got more votes than Ron Paul. Paul was drawing in 8-10,000 attendees at his rallies...Romney was drawing in a few hundred.
