John Nichols: After His Supporters Are Treated "Atrociously," Ron Paul Won't Endorse Romney!

Here's what John Nichols, one of the few principled liberal allies we have, had to say about our indefatigable Gray Champion:

But Paul's not so easily bought. [CORRECTION: Ron Paul can NEVER be bought!]

“I have not endorsed the ticket,” Paul explained Tuesday. “I endorsed the principles I have been talking about… I endorse peace, prosperity, individual liberty and the Constitution. I am more intent on that than on the politics."

After His Supporters Are Treated "Atrociously," Ron Paul Won't Endorse Romney

John Nichols on August 29, 2012 - 2:18 AM ET

...The only speech that might have been more engaging would have been the one that wasn't delivered -- by Ron Paul.

Paul was the Romney challenger who stayed in the race longest, and who won almost 200 delegate votes (193 by the Seattle Times count) during the Tuesday night roll call that nominated Romney.

Once upon a time, that might have guaranteed him a convention speaking slot.

But Paul was not allowed near the podium. And the party brass engineered a rewrite of the rules for the 2016 nominating process in order to assure that neither Paul -- not anyone else as interesting, or dissenting -- will ever again be able to beat the establishment at its own game and win substantial numbers of delegates. The Paul delegates, many Tea Party conservatives and a number of renegade Romney delegates objected, creating the only real drama of the day, and the convention.

The Paul delegates shouted their disapproval from the back-of-the-hall seats to which states with substantial Paul contingents had been relegated. "It's a coronation," said David Aiello, a medical student from Rhode who, like many Paul delegates, complained that, "The party leaders, the people in charge, they don't want a real debate. That's obvious this week."

They think we're a joke. They won't be laughing come November!

We are still the same force we were before this convention started; A force to be reckoned with!

We warned the GOP to stop their shenanigans, but they refused. And it's TIME we let them know we meant it. We own them the clear message that the GOP won't get our votes come November.

This can only be done in one way!

We CANNOT vote Romney and certainly NOT for Obama, but only for a third party candidate. (I don’t care who it is, although I think we need to be united about it)

This will send the massage the GOP needs to learn, we will not be fxxcked with, and when you do we're out of the Republican Party.

It's doubtful our third party vote will win us the White House, but as the November election results are analyzed it will certainly be sending a very clear message to the GOP, how they screwed up.

The Winds of Change!

Yes they will.

Romney is SUPPOSED to lose. The fix is in. It's why they want him. He CAN'T win. He's McCain all over again. The GOP is run by NEOCONS and these guys are LEFTISTS. Krauthammer, Kristol, Limbaugh, they are ALL for BIG GOVERNMENT running everything. You have to understand that. We have only an option of ever increasing statism.

I'll take either of the headlines,

LOL, what a douche...

"I shook the hand of the American Dream. And it has a strong grip,"

I think he misspoke. By "the American Dream" he meant "a fellow Congressman in an airport bathroom, and by "hand" he meant...well, I'll leave it your imagination.

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

P.S.
[*] if only because it's associated to Santorum's name, in context ;) Remember ... the same guy who wanted to ban all the porn from the WWW, because, yeah, that's totally critical for mankind's future on earth.
