Ron Paul's 'Thank You' letter

Dear Friend,

I can't tell you how touched I've been by my supporters' generosity from day one of my Presidential campaign.

Your support has made an incredible impact that will continue on well into the future. In fact, as I look back at the past year, I'm literally amazed at how far we've come.

Today, we can catch a glimpse of our future - and it's a bright one.

Due to our Liberty Movement's youth, energy, and growing numbers, establishment Republicans are recognizing their days of controlling the national GOP are coming to an end. Even now, they are being forced to recognize that our issues - like finally auditing the Federal Reserve - are not going away.

My hope is, with your continued support, it will not end until free markets, sound money, constitutional principles, respect for individual liberty, and a common-sense foreign policy are all restored in America.

For your generosity and all that you'll continue to do in the name of liberty, thank you.

For Liberty,

Ron Paul

This guy...

Words cannot describe how much respect and admiration I have for Dr. Paul. The man is a class act in everything that he does and he doesn't do it for personal gain... I can't imagine the shenanigans he had to go through during his time in Washington. I feel though, that I owe you a thank you!(I would says we owe you a thank you, but I am not one to speak for the other INDIVIDUALS on this site) From the bottom of my heart, thank you Dr. Paul for being a breath of fresh air, when all I was able to see and breathe was pollution. Wherever this liberty train is moving... I'm on board... LET'S DO THIS THING!

Ron Paul is retired

Just about.

Now let him relax in his twilight years. He deserves it. He's asking us to carry on. Now just do it! He paved the way, now it's up to us to grab the torch and run with it no matter how sidetracked we get. BUT none of this can be accomplished if obama stays in office. He is anti-constitution. THINK! Fight against obama with all your might. Voting GJ is like voting for obama. This is business, not an emotional love fest. However we get there it doesn't matter. We won't get anywhere for liberty if obama stays.
Please consider what I'm ranting about. Sleep on it.
Paul Ryan may help steer this ship. It'll be better than what we have now and it'll extend our chances for the take over---but not if obama stays.

Keepin' it real.

To wait four years than eight years for a true liberty candidate to get nominated... And if anything, you voting for Romney is voting for Obama... You don't like him, he doesn't have your best interests at heart, you know he will say anything to get elected, and he agrees with Obama on a majority of the things we despise as Liberty Lovers... I don't like Obama either, but I don't have this hard on for getting him out of office just because... I want him out for real reasons... the same reasons that MITT ROMNEY AGREES WITH HIM ON... I can't in good conscience vote for the lesser of two evils... One of these days, it needs to stop, and that day is long overdue... And I know that "ZOMG! OBAMA IS GOING TO DESTROY AMERICA IN THE NEXT FOUR YEARS IF HE'S NOT STOPPED!!!"... To which I say BULL SH*T... We all know we need to worry about Congress... I'd rather have Obama sitting there in a holding pattern with a stalled government for four years than have Mitt have it for 8 with no checks and balances due to party loyalty.

This is very important. We are all seeking the next step, and can't let the energy die now.

I'll share my personal story below, but first - business. Here are a few humble suggestions:

We need to act quickly.
We need to get behind a single candidate to show our influence.
We need to develop a system wherebye we can all unite behind a single platform, and hold our own process of selecting a "party leader".

We should do this via the speed of the Internet. Forget the delegate process - we don't ride on ponies...

One website.
Any citizen can register.
We hold local (state?) nominations/competitions/debates.
We then hold a series of national nominations/competitions/debates.
Maybe start with 100 candidates, narrow to 20, then to 10, 5, 3, then the ONE.
Do this using Internet technologies. Voting can be done anytime within a 24 or 48 hour period. No need to "go to a poll." Must use technology to limit one vote per person. Votes can be easily verified using tracability - maybe even make voting transparent. Use uStream and other video technologies to run LIVE video debates, speeches, but allow people to watch later...

Obviously this can be done, and I'll leave it to the techies to make it happen. But we need to do this and do it fast - before we loose each other. Maybe DailyPaul can be that forum - but it might be best as a registered political party.

If someone wants to start this, I'd like to be the first donation. :-)

Our country is far too divided. It is up to us to reign this situation that seems to be getting out of control.

Reach out and take it!

The Fringe of every party is waiting for your Independent run...
Don't you realize you already announced your run when you refused to endorse Mitt Romney...

He did not lose the Rupublican Nomination,
it was fraudulently stolen.

Ron has implied his "Independence" from his own party...
so reach out and take it!

Longest commitment I've made in life

besides marriage. I've been a die hard for Dr. Paul since the first interview I saw him give. I think it was on Meet the Press in 2007. Member of dailypaul for 4.5 years.

I love you Dr. Paul. I wish we could all be as principled and devout and true to conviction and wisdom.

I hope you will continue to help inspire us to move forward. We obviously need an example with the state our nation and world are in. Please help us remember the days before the explosion of our government.

Thank you for every hour and day you've given to us and our country. Thank you for helping us to wake up to relevant issues and hope for good.

Thank you.

I am going back to the Independent Party

Two years ago I and my wife and son left the lifetime membership of the Independent Party in Oregon to vote in a closed Primary for my hero Ron Paul. I went to comittee meetings where I felt unwelcome but I ran for PCP and was elected.I am going to tear up the paperwork for pcp. I want nothing to do with the Republican Party ever again. After the Blatent Fraud over the last two years by state, Federal and Local GOP and the lies of CNN, Fox News, CNBC, MSNBC and the three networks. I have had enough. I realize the republican party is nothing I want to be involved in. I will not support anyone that endorsed Mittens Romney or any NEO_CON running for any office from local school board to President of the United States. My family and I are switching back to Independent party and will support Gary Johnson. Hopefully Ron Paul will do the same. I don't give a damn what Rand Paul or Justin Amash do. I will never give them any of my hard earned money. If either Romney or Obama win the presidency I will not support any socialist or communist actions. I joined the Army in 1968, I pledged to defend the constitution from enemies both domestic and foreign. I intend to do so. I am an Oath Keeper.

What do you think Ron wants us to do?

I agree with you so much. But, wasn't Ron's goal to get us to overtake the party? I was at the Tampa rally and it seemed to me that they are still pushing infiltrating the party. Frustrating and difficult, but.. I am not sure what else to do.

Thank you Ron Paul supporters!

You are unique as Ron Paul is.

My thank you to Ron Paul

I'll be honest, I didn't know much about who you were before this 2012 election. I had heard of you, but really had no idea of who you are or what you stand for, until this year.
I'll never forget my older sister calling me up one day and saying, "Isn't it exciting? Ron Paul is running for president again!" My response was, "Isn't he a doctor? What does he know?" Because of her I started to pay attention. I paid close attention to all of the candidates this year and wow have my eyes been opened...
Surprisingly to me, not only did I find myself watching all (yes ALL) of the debates, but we looked forward to it in our house. It was popcorn night in front of the television. With each debate it became more and more obvious that I was just waiting for them to ask you questions. Rumor has it I had been seen yelling at the television, "Ask Ron Paul! Ask Ron Paul!" Yep...I was hooked.
I listened to all of the candidates responses, but your answers were by far the most clear, consistent and just real (for lack of a better word). I would listen to you fight for your points at times, I heard you loud and clear Dr Paul. But it was also clear that the other candidates did not hear you. And it was because they didn't want to.
I knew you were my guy, so down my political yellow brick road I went where I stumbled onto the Daily Paul...the people on here are nothing short of amazing. The articles were great and the commentaries were sometimes where I learned the most. This is where I actually talked to delegates (they are like movie stars to me now...)and learned what "point of order" means and "division" and what role "the chair" plays ,oh and lets not forget..."Roberts Rules". All completely foreign terms to me until now. The daily Paul to me was a true education in a lot of ways, but it was also sometimes therapy to me. We took hits for what we believe, we saw you take hits and man alive those delegates took hits. I spent many Saturday afternoons watching a delegate convention on Ustream and yelling at the computer like it was the best football game I ever watched. Win or loose. Of course the best were the wins...
So now, I have seen the last thing that has happened. Tampa. I hear and feel the pain from those delegates that were robbed of their voice. I don't know what the next step is here, but I'm sure there will be one. Oh...we are not going away now. So thank you Dr Paul for opening my eyes and showing me what America is actually supposed to be. From the very bottom of my heart.

Thank You Dr. Paul!

I am a 39 year old father of four. I have been a registered democrat my whole life and voted for President Obama in 2008. I was disappointed in president Obama initially regarding the Patriot Act. Sadly, the first time I ever heard of you Dr. Paul, wasn't until the 2008 election when you broke the single day fudraising record of $6 million (story was on CNN). As fate would have it, in late 2010 I came a cross a video on you tube entitled "Ron Paul - The Only One We Can Trust". (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFZYH-c5TLU ) After watching this video it was like a light bulb went off in my head. I began researching you and your voting record in congress, listening to your speeches and began understanding your message! I was hooked! In late 2011 I registered as a Republican for the first time in my life, so I could vote for YOU in the NY primary. I joined several local meet - up groups, sign waved , and began putting up your posters, yard signs, and bumper stickers EVERYWHERE! I bought and read your books, End the FED, and Revolution: A Manifesto. I even bought two copies of the constitution and have read it many times over in it's entirety. I have learned more about limited government, sound money, liberty, a wise non - interventionist foreign policy, and the wisdom our founding fathers from listening to you during your speeches and interviews, than I have in all my years in school and college. I had the honor of meeting you personally at Cornell University's luncheon fundraiser. What I admire most about you is your ability to maintain an optomistic outlook for the future of this great republic. In a world of despair, you have provided me with HOPE. You truly are a "Statesman for the ages". I can't thank you enough for sharing your message of liberty, peace, and prosperity. I get it now, and I am forever grateful. I will be sure as my children come of age, they too will read your books and the constitution, I will teach them as you have taught me, and they along with countless other young people with will carry the torch of liberty forward, making sure it shines brightly for future generations to come.

Long Live the Constitution!

Thanks for trying, Ron

Please just enjoy your retirement now the best you can. There is no more hope for more freedom in this country at this point. Broomstickers 1, Liberty 0.

Red: Hope's a dangerous thing Andy. Its got no place on the inside. You need to get used to that.

Andy: You mean like Brooks did?

No More Hope?

Hope is only gone when you decide it is and give up. Not gonna happen.

We Should All Be Thanking You Dr. Paul

It took a principled man like yourself to lead this liberty movement. Without your leadership we wouldn't have much credibility. We have made many gains toward the attainment of liberty. The problem going forward is finding another leader like you to continue going forward.

Unless or until we can capture the Whitehouse with a candidate like yourself, we will never fully reach our goal, The Whitehouse.

Once again, thank you for all your efforts. We will always remember how you inspired us.

All the best in the future..

Your friend for liberty,

For 2016..

Tom Davis for president!!!!

This is only the beginning!

It's our turn to relay, Ron Paul!

Thank you Dr. Paul

And what xine said! I happily would have sat through 3 convention's boring speeches again, donated again, sign-waved, and traveled to hear you speak again. While it's our turn with the baton, we still need you as our leader, and I hope you will continue to be!

Oh crap. My monitor is all blurry and wavy all of a sudden.

What an incredibly classy human being and statesman Ron Paul is.

Thank you, Dr. Paul, for your years of tireless service.

We won't let you down...nor will we let ourselves down.

I love you buddy, but after the antics of the campaign

toward the end, a certain song by The Who comes to mind. We could have won this if they had some merely average folks running the show instead of clowns like Benton.

Too old

As much as I love Ron Paul, he'll be too old in 2016 to make a viable run. I don't believe our country will ever elect someone who is over 80 years old. He was already pushing it this year (just turned 77)

Even Reagan was only 73 when he got elected for his 2nd term. We need to find a new champion. It won't be easy!

Still hoping, due to the fact that the GOP pissed all over him and his delegates yesterday, that he might decide to make a 3rd party run.
