Romney & RNC betrayal of principles reverberates through blogosphere

Conservative and Tea Party blogs are on fire about the past 48 hours' worth of betrayals by the RNC and the Romneycare campaign.

A few of them have started to point out that they now understand what all those "Paulbots" felt like during the primaries.

Now is the time to build coalitions!

From http://thelibertyzone.wordpress.com/2012/08/28/goodbye-gop/ (warning, NSFW language)

The noxious slimebags pushed through their little power play, with GOP Rep. Marsha Blackburn Goebbels declaring that “this has been a great exercise in grass-roots” and that GOP stands for “Great Opportunity Party.”

Opportunity to do what, exactly?

Cheat, and push through a candidate that stands for exactly nothing?

Impose their chosen boy on the rest of the country, giving us yet another shit sandwich and chuckling that the idiot populace will continue to reward them with their votes, merely because they have an “R” behind their name, regardless of the fact that he is a substandard candidate?

Silence conservative opposition?

Silence pro-liberty opposition?

Do they think this will win them the love of the electorate?

Whom am I kidding? Most Americans don’t get it, and don’t want to get it. It’s much easier to just vote straight party ticket and pretend they’re oh-so-civic minded.

You know what? At least Obama supporters, delusional and ignorant though they may be, stand for something. Granted, it’s a Marxist, redistributionary something. But they stand on their principles, warped and evil though they may be. Republicans merely roll over and scream at the tops of their lungs about their lofty ideals.

But in the end, they’re still the party of stupid.

I can only hope that more and more people realize what frauds you are, GOP. And here’s hoping they shun you for it.

When the country crumbles into shambles around us, the Democrats won’t be responsible. YOU WILL!

Go to hell!

I Disagree

There is no betrayal of priciples when none existed to begin with.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe RNC actions in Tampa are a violation of RICO statutes

The article is great...the comments are even better!

Comment by S_Sydness: After the RNC rule changes, stripping delegate from Ron Paul, and basically turning 2016 into a presidential campaign that none need bother participate in unless we support the Status Quo, I'll be registering as a Democrat and voting Obama.

The entire GOP process from beginning to end was tainted with voter fraud, deception, lies, tricks, and dirty dealing; not from the Paul campaign but bought and paid for by Mitt Romney. Mitt and his gang of crooks, thugs, and aristocratic miscreants; along with the banking cabals pulled no punches and pulled out the stops (actions that would've had the average citizen LOCKED-UP), to secure an undeserved spot for a scumbag who bought the nomination.

After being directly involved and watching all this garbage play out, this long standing Republican has seen the true enemy and his name is Mitt Romney and his gang of corrupt kiss-asses known as the "Grand Old Party". "Blue-Blood" fraud Mitt Romney has made a mockery of the political process and his criminal element "the RNC" are paving the way to an Orwellian disaster like this country has never seen.

I can't stand Obama but the prospect of possibly 8 years with crook and criminal Romney (who stopped at nothing to secure a nomination he doesn't deserve) is far scarier then 4 more with Obama. Heed this warning folks, 4 more with the Dems or possibly 8 with a party that removed your voice from the political process. Yes, as far as the GOP is concerned, "SIT DOWN, SHUT UP, NOMINATE WHO WE WANT OR YOU WILL NOT BE A DELEGATE". Why trade a worse crook for the crook we already have?

The RNC is loosing supporters in droves....., and I'm 1 of 5 in our household who will not support this corrupt party. Next election I'll lean Independent but chances are that I won't even bother. My voice may not matter but the pulling back of my financial support damn sure will. The RNC has committed political suicide all to nominate Richy Rich Romney. They don't need freedom loving American like me, they're looking for mindless slave to do their bidding.

Paul/Ventura 2012...paybacks

Paul/Ventura 2012...paybacks a bitch!

Don't hate the player, hate the game!!!

From what I am seeing in the online media news

Mitt Romney and his wife are almost being made fun of. There is not much respect now that the deed is done and Romney is the GOP nominee.

Maybe it is time for the second phase of the MEDIA and NWO agenda. Make Romney look bad so that Obama looks better, and gets re-elected president.

Ron Paul was the only obstacle in Obama's way. So Ron Paul had to be ignored, marginalized, defeated, hidden from the public eye. Ron Paul is the only true winner and statesman among them, and so by today's standards he could not be allowed. Do we still want to play this game? How much longer?

Just speculating. We will see.

It's no conspiracy and no NWO agenda.

The truth is, Willard's already been doing a fantastic job of making himself look bad. I'm sure he isn't spending so much money with the goal of losing to Obama, but that's going to be the end result.

I don't play, I commission the league.

Like i have been saying

These people in the Republican Party that chose to ignore the facts and stand behind somebody like MR are getting EXACTLY what they deserve. Let them drown in their own vomit! Now they are getting a little taste of what we have had to endure. Maybe now they will open their eyes and see how they themselves have been acting for the last 12 months!
As for the talk show host, they are just trying to save face with the public. Its all about those ratings for them. Truth is people like Levin and Rush are just fine with it....

Samuel Adams

What will be inetresting,

considering it was all done in broad daylight with an "in-your-face" attitude, is whether anything will change.

My thought is that when the crying is over it will be business as usual. The GOP is just a cog in the machine - it means very little.

The law cannot make a wicked person virtuous…God’s grace alone can accomplish such a thing.

Even Limbaugh gets the significance of the rules change

and that takes a LOT! These are from yesterday's show

Viva La Revolucion!

It's true: many in the GOP are angry, listen to this:

This was a comment I received from a College Republican Facebook Forum I'm apart of. In regards to the shenanigans by the GOP at the RNC, this neocon told me this, "I'm mad they tried to change the rules. That is no what young republicans are for. Damn stingy old republicans."

Even the neocons in the party are pissed. You do not commit so much corruption without there being BLOWBACK.

there will be

significant blowback. The GOP can't win without us. I hope mitwit loses by a small margin and I hope we get the credit for it!

The rallying cry ... Let Them Speak!

oooo ... great forum title and article, Katherine. Correct! Exciting to see factions coalescing. I was *shocked* to hear even Mark Levin dialing it back (re past RP vitriol) ...

Mark Levin against the rule changes: "Worst he has ever seen"
. Reads the Blackwell letter. Defends the grassroots activists and delegates ...
(and whoa, will wonders never cease) even RP supporters stating they should not be disenfranchised.
(Listen at beginning and end.)
Lovely bit o' writing from your cited article:

Michelle Malkin reports on the establishment’s efforts to silence the voices of the grassroots, the voices of liberty and the voices of anyone who doesn’t toe the RINO line.

First, they voted to amend the party rules to allow future presidential candidates to have veto power over who can be delegates from any state. Not the people. The people can’t possibly be trusted to elect delegates to the convention! No, presidential candidates – the ones running to gain power – the ones with the money and the clout – NOT the people – will choose delegates. And you can be sure that the snotty upstart supporters of Ron Paul, those crotchety TEA Partiers and other grassroots conservatives who want to limit the power and scope of government aren’t going to be invited!

Huh ?? Don't see it.

To wit: The Giavelli Report: See Last Video

Seems to me they've gotten to the point where they are witnessing the blatant RINO thugery tactics ... last minute rule changes, etc.* ... and are defending anyone who is anti-establishment, coming to the defense of grassroots (bottom up ...Teaparty and RP supporters) vs the RINO hand-picked puppet (top down, next-in-line coronation approach: McCain, Romney). The conservatives (Malkin, Levin, Palin, etc.) at best, have always had an uneasy alliance with McRomney and could only dryly say this was better than having Obama in office ...

Republicans get in trouble when we worry about whose turn it is, he said. That doesn't have a history of going well for us. ~ Ted Cruz

* But Priebus did not just rewrite the rules of 2012. More ominously, he and the Romney team rewrote the rules of 2016. The party brass engineered a fundamental change in the next nominating process in order to assure that neither Paul—nor anyone else as interesting, or dissenting—will ever again be able to beat the establishment at its own game and win substantial numbers of delegates. The Paul delegates, many Tea Party conservatives and a number of renegade Romney delegates objected, creating the only real drama of the day, and the convention.

Wake them up!

Truth is treason in an empire of lies

hmmm . . .

well, it would be nice to see *them* (my neo-con/GOP friends) wake up; I certainly couldn't do it--

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

Naw he's wrong. Obots don't stand on principle either

Everything Obama ran on he didn't do. End the Wars? pthh! He increased them. But do the Obots hold his feet to the fire? Nope they just chant Yes we can and hold on to their hope and change idol worship.

there is NO difference in the parties. Republicans are only just barely beginning to wake up to this fact.

Yes, when is America going to wake up: there is NO

DIFFERENCE between the parties - in either their political goals or their character.

Voting for Gary Johnson

and campaigning for him as a volunteer and making sure Romney comes in 3rd place -- that will send the message.

I was referring to the reference of the RNC as a "joke" vs.

a term that would reflect more egregious behavior. I wasn't the one to downvote your comment, but I also don't appreciate your constant mentions of Gary Johnson all over the place. Everyone is already well aware that voting for Gary Johnson is one of our options. We are already aware that, of candidates on the ballot, his positions most closely reflect those of Ron Paul's. But right now we're still focused on the convention and RNC and Ron Paul. I don't know if it was your post or someone else's, but I did appreciate being recently informed that the RNC is apparently trying to get Gary Johnson's name off the ballot in Iowa - what should be of concern to all of us, whether we're considering voting for Johnson or not. But short of something newsworthy like that, how about giving it a rest until after the convention when it will become a more appropriate topic of discussion here at the DAILY PAUL.

Facebook has been exploding with information on the fraudulent activies of the GOP elite. People that usually never commented or liked my Ron Paul posts are now jumping on board with my posts like the video of the Maine delegates leaving the floor. Some that have never shown any political preference were sharing the video and adding pro-ron paul comments.

It is probably a good thing that the Romney campaign committed so much fraud because anger really gets people going, it started the tea party, now it is re-igniting the liberty movement with a lot of new faces.

GOOD... let the GOP implode for their stupidity

I was listening to talk radio on the way home from work yesterday and Mark Levin was going off on the RNC and the rule changes... and my dad said Rush Limbaugh was pissed off about it too

I'd love to see..

a huge division between Limbaugh and Hannity! (chortle)
