A party within the Republican party; 2nd tier party structure

What about staying republican party members, but building our own 2nd tier structure with the intention of replacing the RNC and taking over state parties (switching to caucuses everywhere, unbinding delegates)?

Proposed membership requirements:

1. Must be a registered Republican
2. Must swear an oath to defend the constitution, promote peace, and advance liberty

Republican Liberty Caucus

Isn't that what this group is? I know we have this set up in our state, and the numbers are growing rapidly.

Looks really good

Might have to join this.

Reading their principles

Sounds really good so far.

Havent looked at the bylaws yet.

Maybe

Don't know how they function though...

If we were to select people to help form this party

I would say we should use the selection already made.... Our delegates.

If we could get them together on the formation of this as a committee to lay some initial proposals on the table...

That is

If they'd accept the task...

Sound like a plan

why not. the gop is

why not. the gop is established, we just need to take it over now.

and we should do it openly

and we should do it openly now that they have disrespected us so bad.

Agreed

We should recruit any disgruntled republicans, but we should establish some internal rules preventing co-opting.

You mean like they just did.

Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution, inevitable.

No

Like permanent principles of decentralization which cannot be changed but by a massive threshold of support. We should build in internal penalties, like removal from the party, for introducing measures found by the voting body to have been attempts to usurp or to have violated those principles.

Like a party constitution which restrains all other measures.

Actually some of that I see as good

but the last parts are really no different than what the RNC just did. They are trying to protect themselves against what they perceive as a threat by shoring up any loose ends.

On a personal level, I'd like that but on an ethically Constitutionally minded basis, it goes against openness.

I'd love a way to weed out the chance of co-option but how do you do that without soiling what you believe in.

Although, I would go a step further with the first things and not allow them to be changed. We're all way past flip flopping about what we believe in.. I for one know exactly what those things are and it's a strict adherence to the Constitution.. Well the original anyway before they started hacking it up.

There's nothing to prevent a free association of republicans

I don't see how they could stop this.

Can't

Self-bump forever. Would love some comments.

We could easily build this online.
