Just curious, why do you suppose Ron Paul isn't endorsing Gary Johnson?

Gee, Homer do you think it might have anything to do with

The fact that Ron Paul is currently running the most successful liberty, presidential campaign of the past 200 years? Duhhh! Some people just don't get it.

A choice for liberty is always a choice for liberty.

Do you really need to ask? RP

Do you really need to ask? RP probably has nothing against Johnson. But for RP to effectively take over the Republican party, he needs to be seen as a REPUBLICAN. What do you think the Romney campaign or the RNC would do if it were known that a republican voted for someone OUTSIDE his own party? They would immediately tear down RP and then we can kiss our attempt to take over goodbye, cause any republican we would talk to would say in disgust that RP is no republican. Saying that we would return the Republican party to its roots would thus fall on deaf ears.

You are a rude dope for asking this question. Go back to your

room and think about it. Dope. It has only been one day. What's he supposed to do....wet his pants because you said so?

Paul ...

I know many are angry at him ... just remember ... THE APPLE DOES NOT FALL FAR FROM THE TREE !!!

He will say things in ways that many of us will be suspect of ... he must gain the neo-cons support to lead them to liberty.

Just repeat after me ... THE APPLE DOES NOT FALL FAR FROM THE TREE !!!

Sometimes it does...

Congressman Howard Buffet was the Ron Paul of Nebraska in the 40s and 50s.

'Unshakably ethical, Howard refused offers of junkets and even turned down a part of his pay. During his first term, when congressional salary was raised from $10,000 to $12,500, Howard left the extra money in the Capitol disbursement office, insisting that he had been elected at the lower salary.' His wife said he considered only one issue when deciding whether or not to vote for a bill: 'Will this add to, or subtract from, human liberty?'

Howard Buffett is remembered for his highly libertarian Old Right stance, having maintained a friendship with Murray Rothbard for a number of years. He "would invariably draw 'zero' ratings from the Americans for Democratic Action and other leftist groups."

Warren, his son, fell very far from the tree and rolled down the hill to boot. How unfortunate.

I'd say Ron Paul isn't endorsing him because:

I'd say Ron Paul isn't endorsing him because:

1. Ron Paul consistently SAID what he MEANT all throughout the last 40 years of his political involvement, in his standing up and defending the Constitution;

2. Likewise, Ron Paul consistently DID what he SAID during the same period;

3. given (1) and (2), and after the GOP/RNC INFAMY that occurred two days ago, if Ron Paul has officially, publicly, endorsed Johnson (or anyone else for that matter) I'd like to see it appear on audio or video record of his own statement somewhere.

Sincerely,

Number of Reasons

Some thoughts:

*He is aligned with his son
*He wants a future voice in the GOP as an elder statesman
*He may not believe in the GOP be he knows how hard it is to be heard as a 3rd party candidate
*He is not 100% in alignment with Gov. Johnson so he can't "fully endorse" him.
*He may not be impressed with the present day Libertarian Party and so doesn't want to add credibility to them.

But parse the words, read between the lines. Dr. Paul told Neil Covuto that he won't be endorsing Romney. When asked if he would endorse Gov. Johnson he gave a signature drawn out "welllllllll" then didn't answer.

They key is he didn't say NO so he does not oppose the Gov.
Dr. NO knows when he means NO.

In 2008

In 2008, I don't think Ron endorsed till around the end of September. He went with Chuck Baldwin of the Constitution party. He also held a press conference with several 3rd party candidates, and encouraged us to vote 3rd party. I expect he will do the same this year.

Because Gary Johnson...

...is pro-abortion and Paul is pro-life? I think that may be one of the reasons.

As a pro-life voter, it's personally hard for me to vote for Johnson too, but I will, considering I cannot write in Paul's name in my state (Virginia) and I don't trust Goode of the Constitution Party.

I'm really disappointed Paul isn't going to run third party -- he'd have such a great chance to win. Even my sister, who's a very liberal anti-war Democrat, loves Paul and I know she would vote for him for sure if he ran. She voted for Obama last time but can't stand him anymore.

Its funny that so many people

Its funny that so many people here are making the same kind of baseless claims against Johnson that the GOP has been using against Paul for so long. Bunch of hypocrites ya'll are.

Don't tread on me bro

Pro-abprtion, pro-humanitarian wars, pro drug war.

Pro using big government to fix big government?

Free includes debt-free!

You heard it here first...

Gary Johnson is pro War on Drugs. :D

Who says you can't learn anything on the internet?

Convince me he is not pro war on drugs?

Convince me that even if he were he could do anything about it.

Free includes debt-free!

I met Gary Johnson once...

...a couple of years ago at the Cannabis Revival in Joplin Missouri. :)

Seriously?

Not trying to be a jerk here but you do have internet access right?

I mean, he admits to smoking pot after breaking his back in a handgliding accident... after he was governor.

How many prosecutions for narcotics as Governor?

?

Free includes debt-free!

Beats me

Were you expecting him to pardon every last one of them?

I mean, he even publically advocated legalizing heroin, which got the White House drug czar to fly in just to condemn him.

He was a governor, not a dictator.

There's only so much he can do. How many arrest have the Feds made while Ron Paul has been in Washington? Does that mean Ron wasnt really serious about ending the war on drugs? It seems that many hold Johnson to a higher standard than Ron Paul.

How many sentences suspended or canceled.

?

Free includes debt-free!

he doesn't have to endorse

he doesn't have to endorse anyone.

if i had to guess, i think he wants us focused influencing the party

Those are all wrong! He

Those are all wrong! He won't because he knows Mitt will lose and he doesn't want the RNC to point fingers at him and especially Rnad and say "The Pauls cost us Republicans this election"! The RNC establishment would use this to blackball Rand from now on!

Bingo

#1 reason

Yup

game, set, match

Ron Paul did not rule it out,

with his interview with Cavuto.

same reason he will not endorse wrongney...

it would be a big fat lie?

Because Ron Paul

knows that Gary Johnson is part of the establishment.

I'm sorry

but that is not an intelligent comment, have you forgotten that Romney is trying to get him off of the ballot? I mean what facts do you have to back up that statement?

"To say, 'nothing is true', is to realize that the foundations of society are fragile, and that we must be the shepherds of our own civilization. To say, 'everything is permitted', is to understand that we are the architects of our actions.

Ron Paul Knows

Ron Paul knows we know to stay true to our Liberty message.

Ron Paul knows we know how to spot the difference between Liberty and Tyranny.

Ron Paul knows we know who the best, most Liberty-respecting choice is among the three candidates.

Ron Paul knows we know how to take the right path.

You raise a very good question

I suspect the single biggest reason is he knows it would be a complete slap in the face to the Republican Party to do this at their own convention, right after he negotiated concessions in the platform, Rand speaking, and the playing of a commemorative video.

It would ostracize him, cost Rand future support, and damage the infiltration strategy.

Team Obama and Rachel Maddow would have a field day mocking Romney over this betrayal.

Yes, the Ron Paul delegates were silenced in an underhanded manner, but major party conventions are coronations and marketing presentations these days (look at how the Hillary supporters fell in line with Obama at the last convention) and I'm sure he anticipated heavy-handed efforts to present a unified front.

Or maybe Johnson is a CFR puppet that eats small children, dunno.

Another question one might ask is "why has Ron Paul not come out and stated Gary Johnson is a CFR puppet and not a libertarian." He owes Johnson nothing, so why not say so if that's what he really believed? Presumably because he doesn't believe that.

Because you don't start a revolution against the establishment

and then endorse one of their CFR Puppets.
