Good news from Tampa
Submitted by spacehabitats on Fri, 08/31/2012 - 13:57One of the nicest things about the RNC was meeting all of the other Ron Paul supporters from all over the country and getting to know the activists from my own state.
When I compare the wrinkled, potbellied, braindead "leaders" of the mainstream GOP to the young, smart leaders of OUR movement I am really encouraged. (And yes, I realize that I am also wrinkled and potbellied. But at least I am not a zombie.)
Its funny sometimes how things work out well even when they have done something bad to you. For example, because the RNC decided to not send a bus for the Iowa delegation the first day (no, I did not say the bus was late, I said they literally did not even dispatch a bus to our hotel), I decided to drive my car to the convention. Because the security perimeter is so huge, it takes almost 30 minutes to walk in. On the way I ran into some RP Alaska delegates and had a chance to talk about their situation. The next day I ran into them again and met their new state chairman. He was excited to get in touch with our chairman A. J. Spiker to get some pointers. I passed his card on to A.J. the next day at breakfast.
Today on the way home I ran into another delegate from Alaska who was NOT a Ron Paul supporter. He wanted to ask us to support Romney. I told him that I personally would vote for Mitt only because I am the country chair, but that I would NOT be delivering the 50 or 100 (or more) votes that I could through campaigning for him because of the rules he crammed through at the RNC. He stuttered a little and then said that it was the RNC and not Mitt who did that. I laughed and said that since it was Mitt's hand picked hatchet man Sununu who had chaired and rammed the rules through the committee, I was going to continue to hold Romney personally responsible for this travesty. "Why should I work my butt off for a candidate who has told me that he doesn't ever want my kind at the RNC again?" That shut him up. Maybe he won't be as anxious to cross our friends in Alaska when he gets home.
The Lord works in mysterious ways.
****Update****
So as I am sitting at the gate waiting for my flight in Tampa guess who shows up to sit next to us? That's right the same couple from Alaska that I met walking to the RNC!
I finally decided that God was trying to tell me something.
We exchanged contact information.
Its a small world.

Fight the Ron Paul blackout on the Daily Paul (now 'P AU L'), put his removed poster back as your avatar:

You should remove the ageist
You should remove the ageist comment altogether. Adding the comment about yourself doesn't make it ok.
You make 'our movement' look just like the way the MSM tried to portray it.
Point taken.
Besides most of the RNC crowd weren't wrinkled, they were Botox'ed. Oops, I did it again didn't I?
Sorry, I just can't seem to get this politically correct thing down. ;-)

Thank you for
sharing that story and thank you for all your hard work! It is appreciated in many ways and has done good in ways you will never see, but believe it made a difference!
Thanks space!
I agree wholeheartedly.
I hate sounding like another old fart... but what young people haven't normally experienced yet is UTTER DEFEAT, UTTER CORRUPTION, UTTER INJUSTICE, etc. This is why when these things happen they think that SOMEONE must have done something WRONG, or it all would have worked out just fine. The truth is that evil and injustice and corruption EXIST and are never defeated in an immediate sense. But that doesn't mean that GOOD doesn't come out of every situation.
This convention was a TREMENDOUS eye opener and ENERGIZER for all of us.
What you must always know is the these kinds of experiences are ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS beneficial for us in the long run. We learn and grow so MUCH more from the agony of defeat, and from seeing evil face to face, than we ever learn from the thrill of victory.
This REVOLUTION is just getting started, and we are now much more knowledgeable and mature than we were before.

TY
for all of your efforts.
Isn't your vote supposed to be secret?
How will anyone really know if you vote for Mitt? How will anyone know if you vote for a third party? Are your ballots different than they are in Texas? On the general election ballots, we can vote for any candidates in any party for any office. I will be voting for some Repubs, some Dems, som Libs and some other third parties on my ballot.
I don't believe anyone on a committee like that has the
option to vote in "secret", and they may have had to sign an oath to support the GOP puppet nominee just because of having a valued seat on the committee. In some, if not all, cases, committee people have to cast their vote on paper and that paper is seen and reviewed by the other members of the committee, insuring they do not violate the damned oath they had to take to get the seat in the first place. I could be wrong about that, but that is what I believe to be the case.
I doubt the guy will ever
I doubt the guy will ever vote Romney, he's just bluffing to the Republicans, he probably just doesn't want any of them seeing this.
THANK YOU
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU and Welcome back! God Bless YOU and your wife! I'm so happy to hear this report! I'm so fired up after watching the RNC from the safety of my office chair.. I've decided I'm going to hold my committee to the loyalty oath they took to the constitution. The good news is, they are already shifting to Liberty as there are two bonafide Ron Paul RepubliCANs seated, and it appears we were hit with the Palin Earthquakers,, 4 showed up meeting before last seeking seats. At least we have things in common. I'm proud of you. Sorry CA did not win so I could have been there with you! Missed YOU! Welcome home! THANK YOU!!!!
