Run Ron Run! Here is how I see a Paul-Johnson/Johnson Paul announcement breaking down.

After a Paul-Johnson announcement (or Johnson-Paul, it would be understood as a virtual co-presidency) they would start polling at 20%-24% out of the gate, especially since Romney/GOP's treatment of Paul has pissed so many Republicans off. I have been reading moderate conservative websites and anyone who sees the Maine delegation walk-out video is "done" with the GOP. They are sending it to their friends and family and reporting the same reaction.

Then Paul's solid anti-war credentials and love of the Constitution start pulling Obama's youth vote, making it a competitive three-way race. Those record stadium crowds at UCLA and other campuses were filled with people who, down almost to the last person, voted for Obama last time, if they could vote. Ron Paul has awakened them.

The GOP establishment would crap its pants because they would know it's all over for them, and the base would start calling for the heads of the party leaders for not seeing this coming. Then it would be either Obama or Paul-Johnson.

With Paul talking about NDAA and fascist drones in the sky, Obama would be forced to pull back on these new forms of fascism. Anyway you look at it, Dr. Paul's voice in the race is a win-win for the country.

RUN RON RUN!

The GOP has already crapped its pants!

It is comical that when the primaries began every question to the good doctor was about not running third party yet they have forced him into doing so. The GOP is not only corrupt but also very, very dumb.

hthomas

If they had given him a fair shake and allowed him to lose the

nomination fair and square, it would be difficult to announce a third party run. Instead they enraged the world at his treatment and left everyone wondering why he doesn't. It would serve them right, and everyone knows it.

This has the added advantage of making the base start calling for the heads of the thugs at the top of the GOP. It's not so much that they didn't play fair, as long as you win. It's when you don't play fair AND you lose that heads roll.

The botox bimbo and bad hair club for men golf cheaters association is not just evil. It is stupid.

true, the RNC cheating now

true, the RNC cheating now validates a 3rd party run.

They set the stage better than we ever could have

and that is the biggest LOL of all.

They were so stupid!

They had the chance to be inclusive! Romney could have been the bigger man! He could have fought a good fight, and the thing is he might have won anyway. However, instead he decided to take the dirtiest road he could find, and try to squash Ron like a bug! NOW is the time to make a third party run!!! The country is energized against the establishment! People have no faith in either party! I know Ron must be tired, but we must all lay it on the line to save America!

Little Bit Farm

If RP DOES run 3rd Party, me and everyone I know won't support

it. At least not with our time and finances.

We'll be too busy implementing his original plan with liberty candidates and taking over the GoP to play with a rigged popular vote.

And really, if RP didn't attack Romney the whole campaign, you think he'd suddenly do it as 3rd Party?

Riiiiiiight...

I have been in the GOP my

I have been in the GOP my whole. As an elected official. Elected party officer. State Committeeman. Local Committeeman. Etc...

I am not leaving the party, and I am not voting for a third party, unless it's a vehicle Ron is using to further our cause and get our message out.

My plan is to write-in Ron, but if he runs LP, or any other party I will vote for him. He deserves to know that if he does it we will back him.

thus far? If I was a Romney supporter I wouldn't support RP either. Your post shows you are not a RP supporter. My guess is a GOP Troll!

Even the National Delegates would tell the GOP to stick it and support Ron Paul. Go away Romney Troll.

Everyone I know will support a third party run with their lives, liberty, and sacred honor. We will beg Dr. Paul to do it. It is only another two months, we've come this far, it is crazy to quit now.

We have finally forced the world to pay attention to every move Paul makes and every word he says. People don't trust the media because they said he was out. But there he was at the convention getting votes, his treatment even pissing off Wolf Blizter. There's one campaign ad right there!

Everybody saddle up.

We dont have to attack, we

We dont have to attack, we need to talk about issues. I have to imagine im not the only one annoyed with all the attack ads on tv these days. But for the reasons I illustrated just below I think a third party run is out of the question.

The only time RP got traction in the debates was when he attacks

None of the others would have been knocked out as fast and furious if RP didn't go on the offensive.

There's a good chance we could have had a Rick Perty Nominee right now if it wasn't for Paul.

That is speculating at the best, but nonetheless we dont have the money to attack...

Third party run I think would

Third party run I think would be out of the question. Is there sore loser laws in some states? However a enthusiastic endorsement of GJ would maybe cure some of the nay-sayers skepticism. And to those of you who call Johnson a neo-con. Please elaborate to me how someone who offers a balanced budget, wants to end the drug wars, and military adventurism is a neo-con? He isn't a Ron Paul clone so get over it.

"Sore loser laws" are irrelevent.

Nothing prevents Gary Johnson and Jim Gray from instructing their Electors to vote for Ron Paul and Gary Johnson in December, except perhaps their own willingness to do so.

No Way

There is no way that Paul could even legally do this. However, he could endorse Johnson and campaign for him while filling-up stadiums all across the nation.

Legally? It's their own

Legally? It's their own party, and they can change the rules if they want to in order to accomodate a Paul/Johnson ticket.

I honestly think that Gary Johnson would gladly step aside and let Ron Paul continue his presidential bid with Johnson as his VP.

It's their party, and the LP will make the republicans cry if they want to.

Never be afraid to ask simple questions.

No to the Co Presidency..

But let's make it happen.

A co-Presidency?? No,

A co-Presidency?? No, thanks. If I was Ron Paul I'd turn that down even if I was mildly interest in running.

But you aren't Ron Paul.

True

I guess on Tuesday we'll find out which one of us is right.

I think he will run if sufficient support and enthusiasm is

demonstrated. He's a the top of his game. In debates he would tear RomneyBama a new one. His new rock star status would make it perilous to keep him out, after the GOP disgrace. THEY'VE GOT A PROBLEM.

I agree he would give the

I agree he would give the Romney campaign apoplexy. But I also know how futile he believes 3rd party campaigns for the Presidency are. He did it in '88 and now he's 24 years older. He wants to spend his time as an elder statesman teaching, lecturing, and enjoying his grandchildren. I don't think he wants the bother of a 3rd party run and I don't think he wants to be remembered as the guy that re-elected the worse President in living memory.
To be clear about it I realize Obama is going to win anyway but to many Paul would still be remembered as the guy that re-elected Obama.

I LOVE IT! but...

but Gary Johnson and Jim Gray are already on the ballot in all 50 states and are being challenged. If they try to switch names around now, it could backfire.

What I have bouncing in my head is if Gary Johnson won the Presidency, he would be able to seat a new Federal Reserve Chairman...

..and what a wonderful world it would be!

Does the VP pick appear on the ballot in your state?

After some research, I discovered that Gary Johnson and his VP will appear on the ballot, labeled as Libertarians:

So, if Ron Paul were substituted, his actual name will be on the ballot in Ohio.

Johnson winning without Ron Paul is delusional

and as a 9/11 truther I have been called that many times. I don't use it lightly.

Johnson-Gray have the right to form their own ticket in accordance with the by-laws of the Libertarian Party. It requires only a meeting of the candidates and the national committee for, say, Gray to say "I am honored to step down and work for Ron Paul, the next Vice President of the United States!"

"Backfire?" By himself with no star power Johnson is going to draw maybe 3%. With Paul he could actually be pinching himself and sitting in the White House. There is no downside. Only up.
