Libertarian and Constitution Party should unite!

The two party system has failed the American people. Both parties have blamed each other, but the reality is that both have participated in the destruction of our economy and our culture. They both have deliberately abandoned our Constitution and have pushed polices that have eviscerated our Bill of Rights.
In order to save the country from endless wars, adding trillions of dollars more onto the deficit and the new police state both parties are building, the Constitution and Libertarian Parties need to come together. We have to realize that we have more in common than differences that separate us and understand that by combining the power of both we can save the country and restore the government to it's proper role in society.
Neither party by itself has the man-power, the money or the talent pool to gain the national spotlight and challenge the Republicans and Democrats. Only by combining our efforts can we show the public we are a viable alternative to them. Only by combining can we have the power to force them to stop trying to deny our right to be heard.
Therefore, for the good of the nation, for the preservation of our sovereignty and the restoration of our way of life, we sincerely ask you to forge a new party that will draw all Paleo-conservatives and Libertarians into the fold. Dr. Ron Paul ignited a movement, the GOP squandered that energy and this is your golden opportunity to take up the mantle and harness the new generation of activists hungry for liberty.

Incongruity

Saying that the LP and the Constitution Party (CP) should unite is about the silliest thing I have read in a while. Do you fail to see the incongruity?

The Constitution party is based upon religious myths not facts and reason. The LP is based upon logic and reason, not silly religious myths. The CP's platform keeps invoking "God" basically begging the question of whether or not such a magic sky-dweller even exists and in so doing, excludes the substantial and growing portion of the population that is atheist.

The day that the LP and the CP unit will be the day that hell freezes over. That will not be anytime soon.

We need to unite the Libertarian Party and the RonPaulRevolution

The Constitution Party does not live up to its PR of being a large third party. It is small.

I voted Chuck Baldwin in 2008 in Texas and I had to write him in because the Constitution Party was not on the ballot. It has never been on my ballot and I vote in every national election including the midterms.

No need to merge the Libertarian Party with a much smaller, weaker party.

There are 2 liberty party websites.

I had asked a friend about setting up libertyparty.com but the domain was already taken. Google popped up thelibertyparty.org which has some good notes on the Affordable Care Act (ACA/ Obamascare) and libertyparty.org headed by John Cunningham who mentioned on the site that he tried running as a Ron Paul Republican. A lot of the info he has on his site is word for word Ron Paul and was started back in 2008.

Back in 1830, there was an actual Liberty Party that was formed for the abolition of Slavery. How apropos that our government seems to treat ALL Americans that way and we, the people, are looking to abolish that as well.

Personally, we shouldn't involve other organizations like change.org or the joke that is campaign for liberty (C4L). The GOP has pretty much said 'F' the grassroots so this should be a definite grass roots movement that's not looking for money or to cash in but merely to restore the principles of the founding Fathers and the good Doctor who woke us from our collective coma, Dr. Ron Paul.

I am also thinking that we make any candidate running under the banner of the Liberty Party sign an affidavit stating if they violate or prove derelict in standing by and upholding the Constitution as sworn under oath, they immediately resign. You take lobbyist money or vote "Yes" in any way that expands government power and spending, you're outta there. Plain and simple.

This is not attached to John Cunningham.

As for this petition being on change.org, I didn't know of another free petition website. Frankly, using the left's resources against them doesn't make me squeamish at all.

This petition's purpose is to try and forge a new third party out of the groups and two main limited government parties that exist right now. Both the Libertarians and the Constitution Party members are not going to get very far separated like they are. In order to challenge the GOP and Dems there needs to be a good third option that appeals to both of the crowds as well as the independents who were very enthused about Ron Paul.

Not sure why someone would vote this down. Instead of automatically being skeptical about what can be done, think about what should be done and then do it regardless of the odds. Only the daring will get anywhere in life.

I didn't vote you or your article down

I only mentioned John Cunningham's site because I was gonna try to build a website for the Liberty Party to help get the ball rolling at the grass roots level; upon my search it looked like John was trying to do the same thing a few years ago. I totally got the message of merging the two parties. I'm not an complete idiot, some of the parts are missing. But yes, I agree whole heartedly that we need to unite the country under the banner of Liberty instead of the tents of 2 different yet similar big government parties that constantly jockey for power every 2-4 years.

Time to bring the power back to the people, my friend. Please count me as your ally in getting this done in time for 2016.

Glad to see this idea already has some support!

Thanks for letting me know about the other effort, I'll look John up.

Sorry

I wasn't saying you did vote it down, that's why I said 'someone.' I should have put that in a separate comment, I can see how you would have seen it as directed at you.
