Mitt Romney's Bain experience - a thorough analysis to quash current fallacies

Mitt Romney's Bain Experience
Summary

Mitt Romney has not created a SINGLE nett job in 28 years.
I do not know why anybody would think that he has.
Furthermore Mitt Romney has had a significant negative effect on America's wealth over the last 28 years.
The consequences for America's wealth are dire indeed should Mitt Romney ever be elected to the White House.

Mitt Romney's own claims on job creation at Bain

Romney claimed to have created 100,000 jobs whilst at Bain, during the Republican debates.Within 6 days he had to reduce his claim to 10,000 as the fact checkers got to work. The true number is probably zero.Bain was an LBO. Like all LBO's it wasn't their business to create jobs. Just make money from cheap money.

Staples was a very good idea and a gap in the market. It was waiting for an investor to get it kicked off the ground. It had nothing to do with Bain's business expertise. The CEO of Staples who had the idea, built Staples - he would have got funding from another investment fund eventually. Romney just got lucky he was in first. It was a v good idea.

If we take a more conservative view of Romney's job creation and do not give him credit for creating jobs at Staples, Romney's job creation record whilst Bain CEO becomes negative.

Awesome analysis

Now, I do not blame Romney for jobs lost (after all, he was dealing with companies that were already going under), but he can't claim credit for creating jobs, either.

Another point is that Romney himself never actually took too many risks. Even when he accepted the Bain offer, it was only if he was given an absolutely sweet back-up option in case the Bain thing didn't work.

"Moderation in temper is always a virtue; but moderation in principle is always a vice." -- Thomas Paine

Read the article again.

"Now, I do not blame Romney for jobs lost (after all, he was dealing with companies that were already going under)"

All of the companies he dealt with had assets and properties and little debt. e.g. KB Toys. This is why he wanted them so that he could load them up with debt to pay his dividends, fees and bonuses. He also wanted in some cases to destroy competition for other larger corporations like Raytheon.

No, he destroyed much more than he created so while he made money for his wealthy investors he was doing so by looting American industry. Having spent more than 25 years in the financial markets I have a certain degree of understanding of how they work so I can see what Romney was doing. He followed a certain business plan and could quickly identify companies that fit his plan. It was money for old rope once he had set up the contacts and the lines of credit. He was ruthless and predatory and has demonstrated the same characteristics in the primaries.

"Jesus answered them: 'Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.'" (John 8:34-36)

I agree with everything you have said here.

This is why I believe Romney will be President. The oligarchy love to rub Americans' noses in it. It''s one of their guilty pleasures, one of the few kicks they have left. It is the condition of radical depravity and a deranged personality.

They hand picked a Kenya born junior senator who had been disbarred from practising law as had his wife and they made them the first couple of the most powerful nation on Earth with command of the most powerful military in the world. This man then proceeded to trash the Bill of Rights and the Constitution with impunity, launch an illegal war, commit horrendous war crimes, kill tens of thousands, destroy an entire country and drive the US deeper in debt than it has ever been. A genuine psychopath.

In spite of this he still has an approval rating of close to 50%. That is some accomplishment and tells us that the oligarchy running America just do not care about what people think of them because they know they can make people think whatever they tell them to think. They have only contempt for the American people.

Romney will be even worse as your blog has indicated and this is a main reason why he has been chosen. The other reason is this: http://roitov.com/articles/romneyiran.htm

"Jesus answered them: 'Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.'" (John 8:34-36)

you know . . . I agree with you--

I didn't know that about Ms. Obama--!

She, too, was disbarred?!

I had some respect for her, because she wasn't so 'upper class'--

but now I wonder--

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

I read that in an article some time ago.

It was describing in detail all the reasons why the Obamas are not qualified to be the first couple. To be fair I didn't check against any other source but in other respects it was a credible article so I just filed it away with all the other trivia that clutters up my subconscious mind and pops up to the surface every so often.

I have no doubt that the oligarchy is turning America into the opposite of what it was intended to be and flaunting it in the face of the People. There is a depth of depravity at which one has to do ever more evil things in order to have any sense of being alive. From what I have read some of the very very richest and most educated elites on Earth are among the most depraved.

This includes those at the very top of of every religion in the world. Many are involved in esoteric practices that would make your hair curl. It is why I stopped reading about such things. There is a limit to which one should expose oneself to the deeds of darkness. Some men are able to do so and remain sane but personally I would rather seek to know the path of righteousness and rise above the horrors and evil in the world. This does not entail closing one's eyes to it all but rather seeing it from a different perspective and knowing that it will one day be destroyed and that light, love and life will prevail.

"Jesus answered them: 'Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.'" (John 8:34-36)

yes, I understand--

I didn't ever bother to read about the Obamas; I didn't take them seriously; I just felt defensive of the 'first lady', because she's not the typical 'pretty' woman most presidents marry--

but that's my personal quirk.

I understand what you say in paragraph two, and I can only read so much, too; it is very depressing and not uplifting--

Your last sentence is true.

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

Won't it be easier for Obama to bomb Iran?

Dems might mount a protest if Romney did it.

Obama has done a very good job (for tptb) in damping down the antiwar and anti bank protests.

"In the end, more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all -- security, comfort, and freedom. When ... the freedom they wished for was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free."

My guess is Romney but it doesn't really matter.

They are all the same in the end and will follow the same path.

"Jesus answered them: 'Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.'" (John 8:34-36)

bumping, because I bookmarked--

My own opinion (which doesn't stand for much, I realize)--

is that Romney is a vulture capitalist thug--

not a real businessman--

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--
