It's time for a MASSIVE education campaign!

It is time my friends for a MASSIVE education campaign... It is now our jobs to educate the public about our views and issues and principals. It should be structured, funded, and well executed just like any other campaign, but most importantly it must be repeated over and over.... I know there is a long time between now and the next election, but if we can start getting these ideas and views into the minds of the masses, they will begin to awaken... The ideas of Liberty and Freedom are popular.. but they must be re-introduced into main stream discussion and psyche.

What do you think?

Here is an idea

I agree, ive thought about this a lot recently

Our schools need to be teaching Liberty and the Constitution all grades. They need to teach business(how-to) grades 6 and up. Add math and English and thats all people really need to know.

If people want to learn sciences, they can take electives.

The education should continue

The education should continue beyond 2016 so that when we win our country back, we will never lose it again.

AGAIN, use Title 47, Part 15

AGAIN, use Title 47, Part 15 UNLICENSED, low-power transmitters capable of a range ~ 1 mile. Yes, you must do a little research on proper placement of the external ATU. If just 5000 of these transmitters were put in place across the nation, i.e. ~ 100 per state depending on density and area, the impact would be significant. Although the quality isn't spectacular at ~ $550, the I AM Radio transmitter * is serviceable and most importantly, it works. Right now, I've been testing a repetitive broadcast written in text and converted via speech synthesis into audio (mp3 format) and recorded on the internal chip of the I AM Radio transmitter. The playback automatically loops endlessly until the message is reprogrammed. The internal chip can record a maximum of 5 minutes of speech. Naturally, one can yak all day long via the external line input as well if so desired.

The quickly assembled text and conversion to audio for testing purposes which consumes appropriately 70 seconds out the internal chip's capacity of 300 seconds:

"Fascism should more appropriately be called corporatism because it is a
merger of state and corporate power"

Benito Mussolini, fascist dictator of Italy during World War 2

Where do we find blatant examples of fascism in the United States today in
accordance with Benito Mussolini's definition?

In our airports and bus stations where the federal government's Transportation Security Agency has forced private airlines and bus lines to violate the United States Constitution's 4th amendment's protection against unlawful searches and seizures. Can you name your federal representatives who voted for the Patriot Act in direct violation of the United States Constitution? Why does the management of NONAME International Airport continue to tolerate this fascist arrangement with the Transportation Security Agency instead of using private contractors?

Naturally, I'll continue working on improving the quality of the speech synthesis as well. **

** Conversion of text to audio accomplished with the text2wave tool included in the Festival speech synthesis package. The RIFF output was then converted via Audacity to the MP3 format before storage on the transmitter's internal chip.

Excellent!

I LOVE this idea! And as a licensed ham radio operator I'm allowed to broadcast on other frequencies as well... I am going to be looking into this and possibly purchasing one... This will be an EXCELLENT way to start projecting knowledge to the masses.....

Thank you for this suggestion!!

Wow...

This is excellent to see this kind of response... Ok, so where do we begin? Need help with a name, organization structure, I take it we need a site(I can handle that part) anyone here good at fund raising? Content? Pamphlet design? List of core issues?

LETS GET THE BALL ROLLING!

A bunch of people are

A bunch of people are listening now that the campaign is over. We need a new image. Ron Paul has been labeled. NeoCons now have an image and instantly turn their minds off

I think educational stuff from the Mises Institute would be incredible

We Agree

Foreign Policy: The Iraq War must end as quickly as possible with removal of all our soldiers from the region. We must initiate the return of our soldiers from around the world, including Korea, Japan, Europe and the entire Middle East. We must cease the war propaganda, threats of a blockade and plans for attacks on Iran, nor should we re-ignite the cold war with Russia over Georgia. We must be willing to talk to all countries and offer friendship and trade and travel to all who are willing. We must take off the table the threat of a nuclear first strike against all nations.

Privacy: We must protect the privacy and civil liberties of all persons under US jurisdiction. We must repeal or radically change the Patriot Act, the Military Commissions Act, and the FISA legislation. We must reject the notion and practice of torture, eliminations of habeas corpus, secret tribunals, and secret prisons. We must deny immunity for corporations that spy willingly on the people for the benefit of the government. We must reject the unitary presidency, the illegal use of signing statements and excessive use of executive orders.

The National Debt: We believe that there should be no increase in the national debt. The burden of debt placed on the next generation is unjust and already threatening our economy and the value of our dollar. We must pay our bills as we go along and not unfairly place this burden on a future generation.

The Federal Reserve: We seek a thorough investigation, evaluation and audit of the Federal Reserve System and its cozy relationships with the banking, corporate, and other financial institutions. The arbitrary power to create money and credit out of thin air behind closed doors for the benefit of commercial interests must be ended. There should be no taxpayer bailouts of corporations and no corporate subsidies. Corporations should be aggressively prosecuted for their crimes and frauds.

We're already on it! I've

We're already on it! I've been busy for the past week (not that I wasn't already). It's just when you have the proof on your side, it's easier to open eyes. I've opened the eyes of quite a few liberals this week! I'm very happy about that. The establishment GOP-supporting friends seem to be quiet about it all. Not sure if they are soaking it all in what happened and trying to decide for themselves or they just don't want anyone to know they condone those actions. One big neocon-supporting person I know was going on and on about how Obama had to be taken out but when the GOP did what it did, he wasn't happy about them changing the rules at the end. But I had been trying to tell him they were doing that all throughout the primary. This week has been real eye-opening for a lot of people!

Patrick Henry

was a genius. He was possibly the single most enlightened founding father, as far as the philosophy of liberty is concerned. I was reading through his June 5th, 7th 1887 speeches earlier and it occurred to me just how far the United States has taken humanities understanding of the principles of government and economics. Up until recently there have been ridiculously few individuals carrying the torch for our principles, but now we have a movement that is exploding at a time when an unprecedented level of enlightenment is literally at the finger tips of people around the world.

The future of humanity is liberty. People will evolve their thoughts until they achieve a society in which the actions of individuals and communities will no longer be brokered by force, I.E. government. The story of human progress could also be called the progression of liberty.

The point is that things are looking much better than we realize and an education campaign today and even our own individual contributions could change the world. The opportunity that we have right now will probably not last forever. It is imperative that we spread our ideas because when our future generations are looking to gain their own liberty they will reference the writings of today. If we want to start educating, I'm in.

Awesome, Shamus.

That's What I'm working on...

However, most people will never vote---this is both good and bad. You really only have to convince a small subset of voters to win an election (if it's fairly counted)

Here's my project: http://iroots.org/2012/08/16/hold-the-republican-partys-feet...

I'm happy to collaborate with others. I'm building a video training curriculum starting with the basics of sales and business...applied to campaign work.

The education/philosophy side is another part of this. I'm still working out how big of a role this plays...and it is big...

YES YES YES

Education is the ONLY thing we need to be working on.

This is the only way we'll win. Period.

Maybe, billionaire PayPal founder, Peter Thiel could fund some sort of nationwide education campaign that uses TV, Radio, Internet, Print, and billboards to spread our message?

Bottom line: We need to brainstorm some ideas and make this happen.

Well, couldn't agree more

"I know there is a long time between now and the next election, but if we can start getting these ideas and views into the minds of the masses, they will begin to awaken... The ideas of Liberty and Freedom are popular.. but they must be re-introduced into main stream discussion and psyche."

Well, couldn't agree more; then, have you seen this ?

Then...

... question is... do WE folks agree with Confucius :

"He who says he can and he who says he can't ... are both usually right."

Agree, I don't see any other way through this

except to educate the masses. I cannot afford to purchase air-time, so am considering fliers and pamphlets as a possible means for disseminating information. But I would prefer to present it in a way that cannot be so easily ignored. Any methods you could recommend?

It averages seven "contacts" to "get" a sale for anythng.

Well, this is the average anyhow.

In other words, some way, somehow, one must be contacted seven times: in our case that could consist of:

l. knock on their door
2. a week or two weeks later a flyer under their doormat
3. a phone call
4. a door-hangers (these are good and cheap)
5. another doorknock and conversation
6. a phone call
7. twitter (I know-you thought it was going to be another door=knock)

Now you may choose to do the whole thing your way all on the internet or whatever. But if you want to "nail them" this is how.

Oh sure...some people will come around right away. Others it will take longer. These numbers are not my numbers. These are sales industry numbers.

yah know guys

you dont have to be so logical to get a message across. Thru out history Music and Art has been able send messages to the masses and quickly. Iv always loved Jon McNaughton works even tho im not christian. still his style notable for the LDS when combined with his expression for POTUS was pretty intelligent. what i learned in art school was; if you scream it at them, they will listen.

Great Idea

That sounds like a wonderful idea and I'm all for it but the question is how are we going to accomplish this?

Don't let us become defenseless, support the Second Amendment!

As I see it

The ultimate goal of getting people NOT to vote would be very worthwhile. Think crickets in the polling places.

Unless of course Dr. Paul ends up on the ballots of all 50 states, which I believe is not possible, right?

Yes

Imagine a nationwide "Don't Vote!" campaign...

Just a simple white billboard with the black letters: "Don't Vote!" and a website that teaches them our message.

I think it would get a lot of attention

;-))

Elites Gave Us Their Reelection & Nobody Came!!! HAHA Love iT!!!

Principles

A principal is someone who runs a school. Sorry, not trying to be a dick, but if you don't make that mistake again, your message will be more effective. :)

Educational Commercials

I have been very impressed by the quality of the videos put out by Gary Johnson's campaign (please, for a moment, set aside your like or dislike for Johnson, and just consider the message of those videos). Plaster TV and cable with similar messages of liberty, what it truly means, what the Founders envisioned, what's in the Constitution, how we've been led astray by the duopoly, etc. All the major networks and cable news, Comedy Central, MTV, A&E, History Channel, etc,. as many as possible.

One small caveat here... major dollars needed to buy all the air time. There will need to be an organization to raise funds from the wealthy as well as the grass roots, produce the commercials and buy the air time. It should be truly Independent and not affiliated with any of the parties, and not advertised as liberal or conservative. Total saturation, as for all intents and purposes, it would begin teaching what is no longer taught in our public schools, and informing the general public, both young and old alike, a job which the controlled media has abdicated as well.

These are just a few ideas, not necessarily well thought out, but perhaps enough to light a spark.

Yes, and the good doctor has said we should study and learn

the issues so we can then educate others. I would like to see a Ron Paul Institute, similar to the Mises Institute, where all of RP's speeches, video's, interviews, debates, books, writings, etc. are gathered in one place and made available to anyone who wants to study Liberty. The library would also contain our founding documents and writings of the Founders and other works related to what Dr. Paul writes and teaches about or references. It would fill in the gap from our education that treated our history shallowly. We would gain a great knowledge and appreciation of our true history and our Founders, so we know where they got their great ideas and philosophies that they applied to crafting our Declaration of Independence, Constitution and Bill of Rights. People could come from other countries and study there. It would have conferences and give awards for advancing the cause of Liberty. I heard Tom Woods mention that there should be s/g like this too, and I believe it will happen. It just needs someone to donate a facility to house it. What are your thoughts on this?

Atlas Shrugged trilogy part 2 in theaters October 12th

I imagine that Progressives think they are in favor of freedom too. Statists probably are deluded into thinking that they advocate a free society and that a certain amount of coercion is necessary and justified because they believe that productive businessmen are selfish and lacking in generosity. Besides they don't pay their employees what they deserve or need to have a decent lifestyle.

So just pushing the idea of freedom is not going to be enough.

The bad guys don't think of themselves as bad guys rather they see themselves correcting the mistakes or shortcomings of those from whom they wish to tax and regulate.

There are philosophical premises underlying the statist's positions and like it or not only a discussion of more basic ideas is going to be necessary.

But we don't have to reinvent the wheel.

I am not saying that Ayn Rand's books are all that is required. After all even Ayn Rand recommended books by others such as Ludwig von Mises.

Ron Paul's books shed light on the goings on in the halls of government which is also necessary and worthwhile. Keep in mind that he also recommended Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged, with reservations which he did not make explicit.

All I am saying is even today I heard Ron Paul say that advocates of liberty must continue to "study." I suggest you read Atlas Shrugged and then see the movie in October. Then read her non fiction: The Virtue of Selfishness and Capitalism: The Unknown Ideal and For The New Intellectual and The Romantic Manifesto and The Objectivist Newsletter 1962-1965.

"Today, when a concerted effort is made to obliterate this point, it cannot be repeated too often that the Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals- that it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the

I believe it's your job to inspire others to start asking

questions. Ie how does liberty and bloated governments effect them personalt? Do they fear when their kids go out that they might end up in prison for a few years over minor pot possession? Or that they might loose a week or months paycheck because of a speed trap? Or that they might loose their business over some code enforcement issue?

I always. bring the conversation back to family friends and neighbors.

"A vote for the lesser of two evils is a vote to keep things the same", Buckminster Fuller..
A vote for liberty is always a vote for liberty.

That is what the revolution was always really about

The only important issue is the education of the people in the ideas of liberty.

Everything else was always and will always be just vehicles to achieving this goal.

Good Idea

This is what I had posted on another thread

"I think as soon as Ron has had a little RR..We should hit him up with the idea of having him go back on the road and continue the educational rallies. They are very important and don't need to stop just because the election is over. Actually this is a time in this country where we need someone like Ron going from coast to coast waking people up and giving them hope in such tough times. Break out the money bombs and let's get this man, The Ron Paul Wizard back to being mobile and on a mission to enlighten.."
