Clint Eastwood is a Genius

Having enjoyed his speech again today a couple times, reading some of the response on the internet and remembering my own grandfather, it is clear Clint Eastwood is a genius. The media is all in a hissy over it, not talking about Romney. The left says he is senile and crazy, the Romney folks are on the defense distancing themselves from responsibility.

You know why it makes no sense to them? They think Clint is on the right. He isn't, he is an individual just like us. Libertarian. Forget the chair being Obama, the chair could be any anyone, he is attacking the corruption on the left and the right.

How embarrassing for Romney a rich multi-millionaire to be referenced as a lowly employee that should be fired if he does a bad job. Reminding people to vote for something more than someone who seems nice. What an introduction, the ultimate troll by Clint, like in all his movies. Watch it again and listen to the parts where Clint is talking, when he is not joshing, just being himself. Genius. He did not endorse Romney, he said there was a lot of work WE needed to do and Romney and Ryan could come along...

This Speech Might Have Gone Over My Head...

...but it didn't seem very "libertarian". Not even tea party. Kind of status quo Republican.

    The presentation

does tend to require a second listen, he was subtle.

Don't think he wanted to be dragged off the stage prematurely.

    He emphasized

stellar businessman, he said it twice as to make sure we got the hidden message, ie Ron Paul is a stella business man. This guy might not talk so well anymore, but his brain is still sharp to come up with that message.

    Channelling Some Ron Paul?

Clint's an actor. I think he did a great job making his manner of speech very much like Paul's. In fact, you could just about replace his voice with Paul's and close your eyes and you could envision Paul, especially when he talked about Afghanistan.

Also, did I discern a very clever method of Clint telling Mitt Romney to go f*** himself?

The ending was very sad though. People in the audience shouting "make my day" as if that's the only thing he's known for. It's a political event, don't tell him to dance for you. Reminds me of the cartoon Family Guy. The episode where Pearl Bailey is trying to do a beautiful aria and everyone in the crowd was shouting "Do Coppertone!" and she cried as she ran off the stage. You would think Republicans could behave more maturely.

    Thank you Clint!

You just secured your lasting legacy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hey GOP, where's my vote?

he should get an Emmy for this performance

awesome... Clint Eastwood should get an Emmy award for this performance.

I thought to myself while i was watching... his manner of speaking seems a lot like Ron Paul or at the very least he's coming across like Jimmy Stewart. What's up with Clint, I'm sure this is not his normal way of speaking.

Then i was like, HEY Romney never said, "Bring them home tomorrow!"... that's Ron Paul!

Then, did he just say, "Go f*ck yourself to Romney"? This is weird, i'm confused... is this a roast?

Then he said, "Politicians just want your vote very four years"... what? What kind of endorsement is this? He never mentions Romney's name in the same sentence with the word 'President'.

Well, NOW the title of this article makes sense.

After I read the comments, I went back to check and indeed, the collar on his suit is just like the collar on Ron Paul's suit. LOL LOL! It's so obvious, how did i miss it?

I HAVE GOT TO LEARN FROM CLINT EASTWOOD... This was awesome.

    Yup

Genius. The haters pretty much fell for it.

The Left Winged Media at it again...

I’ll take an unscripted Clint Eastwood, an American Icon who loves his country and supports our troops "ANY DAY" before any of the hypocritical America bashers on the "FAR LEFT" that is mainstream Hollywood. And I’ll watch Dirty Harry reruns, along with movies starring Greatest Generation actors like Jimmy Stewart, Lee Marvin and Clark Gable before I pay a nickel to watch a Sean Penn movie. They were better actors anyway.

Sean Penn spends his spare time hanging out with anti-American Dictator Hugo Chavez in Venezuela. Michael Moore HATES the American capitalist system that has brought more people out of poverty than any other nation in history, the very system that has made him a millionaire. Then there is Jane Fonda, aka “Hanoi Jane. “ Just ask any U.S. veteran, particularly from the Vietnam era, how they feel about her traveling to Hanoi posing for photo ops sitting in the air defense weapons that were shooting down American pilots and actually broadcasting anti-American messages while there.

I can't speak for the others,

I can't speak for the others, but I've figured about Mr. Moore after listening to a number of his anti-capitalist rants.

Here's what I found for myself as a personal conclusion. YMMV.

On the surface, when you listen to his rants, it sounds to you that the guy seems to be confusing PLAIN OLD "NATURAL" CAPITALISM, say, ideally based on REALLY FREE markets, with the horror we have today : CRONY CAPITALISM of course, amplified by currency debasing and counterfeiting schemes a la Federal Reserve.

Then, you ought to dig deeper :

So, eventually I came to strongly suspect he DOES know better, in fact : and he is indeed p*ssed off of not being quite INSIDE ENOUGH of the system, to be high up enough with the Gov't and MSM crooks for juicy contracts ; he'd probably wish to be much higher up in doing his business with these corrupt in power.

So, my theory is he reoriented his envy / despising / hate towards CAPITALISM ON FREE MARKETS, precisely because CRONY CAPITALISM doesn't work FOR HIM well enough. He naturally became a PLAIN DOWNRIGHT socialist who probably dreams to be doing his movie stuff for the administration and THE BIG STATE he craves for employing his services, AT THE TOP, of course.

Truth is : Michael Moore is THE PAST, himself, too. Because WE FIGURED about the GLOBAL SOCIALISM scheme and, the Hell, we are not willing to even downgrade to a 19th/20th Century National Socialism scheme either just because of his funky entertaining, BUT TOTALLY FALLACIOUS rants on a free market capitalism which would be too risky for his absence of talent.

    Try harder, Mr. Moore.

We know even better than YOU DO.

    Humorless Federal Overlords

Strictly speaking, there were some non-libertarian elements to Clint Eastwood's speech - like mocking the notion of due process for accused terrorists - but otherwise it was definitely an indictment not just of Obama, but of all federal overlords in general - e.g. the lawyer-centric culture in D.C. (or Occupied Virginia), people voting for personality over principles, etc. Federal overlords, however, are very jealous of the imperial power they wield over their subjects, and have no sense of humor when it confronted with criticism.

Naturally, both left-wing and right-wing statists are eager to criticize Eastwood's speech. He took a big risk, which presents a prime opportunity for mockery from the elites.

    Anarcho-Confederate

It is a combination of two flags dear to me.

The design is the Battle Flag of the Confederacy, which stands for independence and honor. The colors are anarcho-capitalist: black represents anarchy, and yellow represents classical liberalism.

In my opinion, the two flags have complementary meanings: Southern secession from the federal regime of taxation without representation was in keeping with the economics and politics of anarcho-capitalism.

It is something of a personal manifesto, but I did not design it personally. Hope you appreciate it!

    Maybe someone took offense. Haha

    Anyway

    It Made My Day

    I agree

Mr. Eastwood. You got balls! :D

He made them look stupid. Well deserved. It was his way of saying - words mean nothing. Only action does.

I look forward to his next twenty movies. ;)

    well I think

you should delete all accounts anyway...

    yeahhh I mean that really..

    But I agree with you...

THEY WILL LET CLINT SPEAK BUT NOT PAUL, PATHETIC

    HMMMM

I agree, Clint Eastwood is a genius

The Obama people hate it. The liberals hate it, and the Neocons aren't real sure if they should like it or not or if he is playing a joke on them. In case they are still wondering. He did.

Did you pick up the part when he was talking about Afghanistan, he may have said Romney but he it was pure Ron Paul when he said "I think X said it best, why tell your enemy the date of your withdrawal, just bring them home tomorrow".
