The "fringe" media has been abuzz with this for weeks.

Drake, "Cobra" and Ben Fulford have all said the same thing. Fulford and, I believe, "Cobra" have been saying that General Petraeus is leading the opposition at the Pentagon.

Even George W. Bush so opposed an attack on Iran he barred Israeli flyovers of Iraq to attack Iran.

I would like to see this document myself...very explosive if true. If this is true, than I suggest Obummer tighten up his security after he begins his second term. Net-n-yahoo is not above extinguishing an American President...especially this one!

Based on population alone, an attack won't happen

Iran has a population of approximately 60 million, Israel has roughly 8 million people. It would be the dumbest thing in the world for them to execute a full on military strike on Iran.

Umm. In this millennium, squishy people are targets, not weapons

A ground war from Iran would have to invade through Saudi Arabia, Iraq or Turkey first, to get to Israel, each puppet nation bristling with state of the art US military bases.

Besides, 200 Israeli nukes will reduce Iran's 60 million people to 600,000 deaf, bleeding and oozing critical condition patients, in about the time it takes to get bifocals made.

You may not have noticed but...

we were kicked out of Iraq. And we left under fire. In the agreement we were forced to sign with Iraq, the U.S. may NOT use Iraqi military bases or airspace to launch an attack on any of Iraq's neighbors. All of our combat troops were kicked out of Iraq...we just have embassy security, advisors and private security forces there. Iraq has criminal jurisdiction over all crimes in the country including by U.S. forces as well...that is why our troops were sent to Kuwait and Germany.

Also, you may not have noticed but the folks running Iraq are good friends with the Iranians...in fact allies. If Iran is attacked Iraq will support Iran or remain nuetral publicly while covertly helping Iran. And all those Shia in Iraq...who do you think they will support if Iran or the U.S. attack Iran?

Iran does not need to send forces anywhere because they can use proxys. All Shia muslims throuhout the region will support Iran if Iran is attacked. Iran can fight on multiple fronts.
1) Shia in Iraq
2) Shia in Lebanon
3) Hamas and Hezbollah throughout the region
4) The Straits of Hormuz
5) missile atacks on the Saudi oil fields
6) Terrorist attacks throughout the world including the U.S.
7) other oil producers who back Iran such as Russia and Venezuala and Brazil could stop selling oil in dollars to put major pressure on the dollar and they would be supported by the BRIC nations as well as the 125 non alliance nations.

Where do you get your news?

I missed the news too.

I thought we removed the troops but increased the number of contractors. There are some 16,000- 20,000 contractors in Iraq according to the following articles.

Where are you getting this news? I would like to see it.

I get my news from

RT, Press TV, Keiser report, info wars, and a little bit of everything else...msm and bunches of blogs.

Israel can't use a nuke

I was in Pershing II missile unit. I can tell you that a nuke is a defensive weapon...last ditch. If Israel used a nuke, Russia would respond and it is likeley that Israel would be wiped off the map before their nuke even got to Iran...if the Russians didn't shoot it down first.

Also the political consequences of Israel using a nuke on a muslim country would be fatal for Israel....so Israel using a nuke is absolutely NOT an option...unless they want to committ suicide.

Respectfully speaking...

First off, I don't advocate any taxpayer funds going anywhere near the Middle East, and Israel should take care of itself. -----------

Israel's use of nuclear weapons would be defensive. Underground mfg of nuclear weapons by Iran is an agressive offensive action that completely destabilizes the Middle East, no different than the Russians moving nukes into Cuba in Oct. 1962. I ask you. Was that defensive or offensive.

This is like your next door neighbor pointing a Barrett 50cal. out his window at the center of your Lazy Boy chair in front of your TV.

The limits of ever heavier conventional bunker busters simply cause the Iranians to dig deeper, requiring a considerable upgrade for the Israelis to get down deep enough to get at them.

What makes you think the Russians will do anything? The Russians and Iranians hate each other. From what I can find, they have NO defense treaty. At all.

In November 2009, the Russian news service RIA Novosti published the results of a poll showing that 93.5 percent of Iranians have a negative opinion of Russia.

"•In December 2009, Ahmadinejad began calling on Moscow to pay compensation for the Soviet occupation of northern Iran during World War II, which produced a backlash from the Russian press. MNK

•In early March 2010, Tehran ordered all Russian commercial pilots working in Iran to leave within 60 days. Iranian sources blamed Russian pilots for Iran’s numerous plane crashes. MNK

•Moscow understands that it cannot prevent the United States or Israel from taking military action against Iran. Moscow wants to position itself so that Tehran won’t blame Russia or harm Russian interests if either the United States or Israel strikes Iran." MNK

If Israel lauches a nuke

on Iran pre-emptive strike...they will get nuked in return by Russia and or China. There are plenty of statements by Russian and Chinese political and military leaders that say exactly that they would defend Iran...resarch that. China has stated that they would risk WWIII to defend Iran. Both Russia and China are trading partners with Iran. Russia manages Iran's nuke program. Check out the speeches at the BRIC conferences and the non-alliance nations meetings.

If you believe that Israel or the U.S. can use a nuke on Iran or even a conventional attack and get no response from Russia, China and India... then you are delusional. Any action on Iran will be a disaster. That is why it is unlikely to happen.

And your source... Mr. Katz is a Zionist owned AIPAC shill.

has some big problems with his zionest wet dream. As mentioned by a comment below, Haaretz did a poll about two weeks ago that showed only 22% supporting an attack on Iran. Haaretz is not exactly a left wing paper and I think it is Israel's most circulated fish wrap.

Another problem: In the agreement the U.S. signed with the Iraqi's NO military strikes on any of Iraq's neighbors is allowed from Iraqi bases or over Iraqi air space.

Another problem: If Iraq cannot be used then the Israeli air force would have to fly south then east over Saudi air space. If Saudi air space is used there would be serious blowback for the Saudi's, who are already under intense pressure from the mobs that are now trying to join the arab spring...Bahrain as well.

All of this means that it will be much more dangerous to try and pull this off...and Israel does not have tanker planes to refuel..they would need U.S. fuel tanker aircraft and will need to refuel at least three times.

It all spells disaster.

The Israeli media are just as controlled as in the US.

There is nothing said in the Israeli media about Iran that isn't cleared with the military and the intelligence services first. All protest is carefully controlled as well to maintain the semblance of democracy just as in the US.

There is a case being built in Israel that Obama is their enemy. Obama is cooperating with this for the sake of solidifying his support from the anti-war crowd in the US and to put some clear water between himself and Romney. It always helps to have a clear choice being presented to the American people to maintain the illusion of America the free.

This will be countered by Romney who is friendly with Netanyahu who has strong support in Israel and in the US among the Zionists both Jewish and Christian. Romney has promised to move the American embassy to Jerusalem and to support an attack on Iran. Once again they are defining the traditional roles of the two wings of the bird of prey. Here is an interesting article by a real Israeli dissident who is a political prisoner in Bolivia. It deals with the internal politics that are at the root of Israeli attitudes in the international arena:

My personal view is that Romney is the designated winner of the Presidency. He is a warmonger and a ruthless operative of the oligarchy who is the ideal choice to complete building the police state. Remember his support for the NDAA. Whatever it takes to elect him is what will happen. Now that they control the counting of all the votes it will be a simple matter to arrange. The media Greek chorus will provide the justification for the victory. Obama will just have to accept his defeat gracefully. Maybe all the evidence that he isn't an American will suddenly bear fruit.

"Jesus answered them: 'Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.'" (John 8:34-36)

Agreed David

I think Obama has lost his glow and is of no more use to them.

Even POLITICO is not writing PRO Obama stories....just ANTI Romney.
I am feeling in my gut that the press has been given their instructions and the "evil ones" have deigned Romney as their next puppet.

This, they feel will give the masses a feeling that they have WON something, and will (they think) put them back to sleep.

At this point, I think this is a done deal.

Thomas Jefferson: “Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that His justice cannot sleep forever."

Viva La Revolucion!

Romney will be in like Flynn...

One of the biggest things Romney is attacking Obama for

is his reluctance to go to war with Iran for Israel. Which disproves the notion that Romney is in any sense better than Obama.

During the VietNam war there was a saying

"What if they started a war and nobody came"

This is what I pray for every night. That the military men and women will simply put down their weapons and walk away, that the pilots will refuse to fly, that the recruitment offices are empty.... as all of our young people JUST SAY NO.

This warms my heart.

Thomas Jefferson: “Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that His justice cannot sleep forever."

Viva La Revolucion!

I was there.

The way I remember it is, "What if they gave a war and nobody came."

What if "they" gave us an ELECTION and nobody came.;-)))))

Hope you don't mind

I just used that to change the title of my post:

If Wars Can Be Started by Lies, They Can Be Stopped By Truth.

what's being announced and

what's being announced and reality are two different things. War must be imminent and obama wants to be able to say I did not start it. We will get involved in the war in order to keep the straights of Hormuz open and it will expand from there.

I thought so too

its for show I guess

Yes, they have to play pretty before the election

Reality will set in after the election.

There is dissent in Israel

there are many there against the policies of their government,we just don't hear about it much if at all here. I do hope we pull back from beating the war drums on Israels behalf and encourage diplomacy in this matter.

If Wars Can Be Started by Lies, They Can Be Stopped By Truth.

I'm sure it is there as it is

I'm sure it is there as it is here. Governments everywhere are running amok and out of control.
