Proof the Republicans want More Government and Less Freedom
Submitted by Silverismoney on Sun, 09/02/2012 - 08:44From Lew Rockwell site.
This is part of the closing remarks of the speech that Marco Rubio made at the Republican Convention:
"That in the early years of this new century we lived in an uncertain time. But we did not allow fear to cause us to abandon what made us special. We chose more government instead of more freedom." [If we didn't fear anything to abandon what made us so special (presumably our freedom), then why did we choose more government?]

And the Live audience cheered when he said it
Which proves the mindlessness of the party partisans infatuated with the false left-right paradigm. These people have no principles. They don't even really have a platform. They are for "the party" just for the sake of it and nothing else.
They are not republicans
If they support more government, then they are NOT Republicans.
They are infiltrators who have taken over the party, REAL republicans are those that support Dr. Ron Paul.
These guys need to leave the party and create a NEW one, where they can shout, cheer, and applause when someone wants more GOVERNMENT.
Big Government is not a part of the TRUE REPUBLICAN platform.
If you are for more government then you are not a republican.
If you want less freedoms, then you are a complete idiot.
Viral maybe?

The fallacy of the Republican Party
Promising smaller government is the fallacy of the Republican Party. Every election year we hear the Republicans voicing the attributes of limited government, however when they get in power they do the exact opposite! They just pander to the constituency that wants limited government, while never intending to follow through. I heard it said once, "that not even a donkey hits its head in the same place twice", but that's what Republican voters do. All the Republican presidents of the 20th century substantially grew government, Eisenhower: interstate hwy system, Nixon: wage and price controls/Vietnam war, Ford: never reduced government, Reagan: huge increases in spending, The Bushes: wars and bailouts.
None of these former presidents tried to repeal any of the social welfare, wealth transfer Ponzi schemes of their Democratic predecessors.
Then, along comes a Republican who will actually reduce the size of government and look what happens!
Rubio's Freudian Slip

Did you notice
That the NPR transcript has freedom first. When he clearly said more government.
Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph.
I'm quite sure it was written correctly, with "freedom" first.
(I imagine the media got copies of the speeches.) Truly, I think it was a Freudian slip on Rubio's part. The way he SAID it is contrary to the founders, but it IS what the Republican Party has come to stand for!
The Teleprompter
It's too bad nobody was recording the teleprompter for this one.
