Rand Paul to Campaign for Mitt Romney

An endorsement is one thing, but to campaign for the warmonger, friend of banksters, Romney, is moving well into the dark side.

Rand Paul, in an ABC interview said that he will soon hit the campaign trail to support Romney,

“We are hoping to help Gov. Romney get elected,” Rand Paul told ABC News’ Jon Karl.

Rand Paul said he is working out the logistics of appearing at campaign events for Romney between now and November.

“They’ve asked me to go places and I’m happy to,” he said.

When Santorum and other folks

When Santorum and other folks who bashed Romney betrayed their supporters and principles - if they really held them - to support Romney, folks here widely condeemed them, and rightfully so, for being hypocites. But when Rand does the same thing, we have folks trying to explain it away with wild stealth conspiracy theories.

It's time to admit facts. Rand is not Ron. Rand is willing to play ball with the establishment and go along with the establishment to keep his comfortable place in it and try to improve it. Is Rand better than a lot of these hacks? Yes, but little more so than a
DeMint.

If you are looking for leaders in our movement, I'd look to the Judge, Tom Woods and creating others before I'd look to Rand.

Time to wake up folks and smell reality.

Rand Paul = Black Sheep

Believe me, Rand Paul is the family black sheep. He is for sale. He is there where you can smell money !!!!

Go Ron Paul 2012 !

Everyone's got this all wrong...

Ron Paul is working the freedom movement and Rand is educating and bringing the Neo-cons along.

Rand Paul will be doing nothing more than putting out his ideas and getting his face out there. It's a brilliant plan. I'm glad he'll get the massive exposure. Better Rand than some other NeoCon. Rand won't compromise his values. He's there to help us. Take it easy on him folks.

He's also selling his new book. I know Rand Paul will be in NYC next week!

Rand is just PLAYING THE GAME.

I think Rand is just PLAYING the Game guys...He knows that he has to PLAY ALONG or else he will be open to attack and removed from Office by the RNC and the Lemming Mass of the Republican party who dont really follow the issues and have no idea whats really going on in thsi country.

I mean what is Rand going to say on National TV??? "NO Im not supporting the Republican party and Im not going to help the Republicans take the white house"??? (to the Lemming masses of the GOP that come out like "I SUPPORT OBAMA"----and thats exactly how Rush/Hannity/Orielly/Krauthhammer/Condrakey/Engrim and Mike Savage would play it...and play it...and play it.

Rand knows he either PLAYS ALONG----or----he out of office (and if hes removed from office he cant do ANYTHING to help Defend this Nation and Constitutional Rule of Law)

just MHO

Going against the party doesn't alienate you with voters

It gives you credence with voters. If sticking to your principles puts you at odds with your leadership, then that's a big reason to be proud! Rand is just wrong, and the bigger disappointment is those who thought Rand was different from the rest of the politicians by some sort of birthright. My father was an alcoholic rapist. What would people expect from me?

Rand is out of Ron's hands. He's not out of the hands of Kentucky's voters.

Michael Nystrom's fists can punch through FUD.

What we are looking at is plan B

I know its not the commonly held opinion on here, and I can certainly see both sides, but this is what appears to me as how this is shaping up. I remember watching a video of the Iowa caucuses, my wife pointed it out to me, she said "my God, Rand looks really pissed", we could see his face clearly. I believe Ron and Rand both knew full well at that early time, that the Republicans were playing dirty in this election. At the point it was evident Ron could not make the nomination (plan B), Rand endorsed Romney. Showing loyalty to the party assured Rand a possible inside route in the future and he could not be blamed for Romneys lost election. By not endorsing Romney, Ron Paul flat out ended any chances Romney had for 2012, IMO its not going to happen. Not every move in chess (or politics) is a capture, some are sacrificial. At this point its not about 2012, its about 2016 and a Rand Paul nomination. At that point the liberty movement "owns" the Republican party.

Call me naive, but I am a father and I am a son, I cannot believe that Rand would endorse Romney if it wasn't for the greater good of liberty and without Ron Pauls advice.

Rand endorsed with Ron's advice?

We know Rand gave his parents 30 minutes notice before endorsing Romney on Hannity. This was obviously not done with Ron's advice. It is terminally naive to think Rand is engaged in some secret plan here. The fact that his father didn't even show up for his convention speech should tell you something as well.

The Trojan Horse is a tale

The Trojan Horse is a tale from the Trojan War about the stratagem that allowed the Greeks to finally enter the city of Troy and end the conflict. In the canonical version, after a fruitless 10-year siege, the Greeks constructed a huge wooden horse, and hid a select force of men inside. The Greeks pretended to sail away, and the Trojans pulled the horse into their city as a victory trophy. That night the Greek force crept out of the horse and opened the gates for the rest of the Greek army, which had sailed back under cover of night. The Greeks entered and destroyed the city of Troy, decisively ending the war.
The main ancient source for the story is the Aeneid of Virgil, a Latin epic poem from the time of Augustus. The event does not occur in Homer's Iliad, which ends before the fall of the city, but is referred to in the Odyssey. In the Greek tradition, the horse is called the "Wooden Horse" (Δούρειος Ἵππος, Doúreios Híppos, in the Homeric Ionic dialect).
Metaphorically a "Trojan Horse" has come to mean any trick or stratagem that causes a target to invite a foe into a securely protected bastion or space.

And if the Trojans knew what was in the horse?

What would they have done?

Burned it. That is my guess.

the trogan horse is not for

the trogan horse is not for the elite kings of the RNC. Its for the dumb soldiers who rolled it in. AKA sheeple USA older generation voters and clueless officials who want to be in the cool club.

The most important part about the Trojan Horse tale

is that it was a secret. Do you think they ever would have let that horse inside the gates if they knew it was filled with soliders?

Rand Paul has to be the most widely advertised Trojan Horse in history. Think those neocon goons don't read the Daily Paul? They're probably here participating. They are most certainly aware of the "Rand Paul as Trojan Horse" idea as anyone here.

It is getting old and trite. Let's stop beating this dead "horse."

allegory - ˈalɪg(ə)ri/ - noun - 1. a story, poem, or picture which can be interpreted to reveal a hidden meaning, typically a moral or political one.

They will also read the contempt some Ron Paul supporters

Have for Rand, oh BTW, thanks for your comment. The negative comments will add to Rands "street cred" as an insider.

No ones ever beat a dead horse, just a rented mule. LOL

Rand opposes Obama, it looks

Rand opposes Obama, it looks like. Very sad that Rand would oppose Obama.

Thomas Jefferson 1796, 1800, 1804; James Madison 1808, 1812; Ron Paul 1988, 2008, 2012; Rand Paul 2016.

Let Rand do what he has to do

nothing he says will make me vote for the Rominee ....He probably knows he wont garner much support for Ramrod. My guess is he is just going along to get along...same ol chit, different day...

"If ever time should come, when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin."

Man!

Some people just don't get it. Rand isn't "playing" Romney in order to win in 2016. He genuinely wants Romney to win because of the fact that we simply cannot tolerate another four years of Obama's policies.

Oooh, Obama!

Obama's policies are marginally worse on some things and marginally better on others. How can you even be at the Daily Paul if you think Romney would improve things?

Plus

Rand, by being a good soldier, will get a nice cabinet position. Maybe Commerce Secretary, like Bill Richardson. And he can run for president when his turn comes -- maybe when he's Bob Dole's age, and he is about as appealing to America as Dole was.

That's how things work in the Grand Old Party. They don't call it "old" for no reason. They're not "conservatives" for nothing. They do things the old fashioned way - the way they've always been done.

Many of us had higher hopes for Rand, but those have clearly been dashed. He'll bide his time and wait his turn and in the mean time, he'll keep in mind who's the Big Dog around here.

The big dog's name is Mitt Romney.

allegory - ˈalɪg(ə)ri/ - noun - 1. a story, poem, or picture which can be interpreted to reveal a hidden meaning, typically a moral or political one.

He has to do this.

It will take away any ammo the GOP can use against him in 2016.

Rand "has to" do this

And then in 2016 when he sticks the knife in deeper, you'll have a list of other things he just "had to" do, and which the rest of us are too stupid to understand.

Compromise and "playing along to get along"

is what got us into the mess we're in right now. Chances of Rand changing the power stucture from the inside is pretty much nil. Much more likely that it will corrupt him...especially now that he's been sucked into playing their game. People say that Ron didn't accomplish much because he wouldn't compromise. I disagree, he accomplished the beginning of a revolution and a great awakening world wide and he never could have done it without his stellar reputation as someone who never sold out.

Flip flop your way to the top

I think that is the lesson Rand Paul learned.

It worked for Mitt, didn't it? And being consistent didn't net Pa nothin' - not even a speaking spot at the convention.

Rand didn't compromise his VOTES or LEGISLATION

It's no skin off Rand Paul's nose to show up at some pep rallies for Mittens Romneycare.

Rand will get credit for being a "team player" and Romneycare will lose in the end anyway. They won't be able to pin Romneycare's loss on Rand.

Rand wins, the Liberty Movement wins, Rand's political capital in the Senate rises.

Do we want influential, pro-Liberty Senators or don't we?

Ron campaigning for Romney?

Answer me this: under what circumstances would Ron Paul campaign for Romney?

I doubt it.

The second he threatens the oligarchy, they'll take him down.

agreed
