Ron Paul Reportedly Considering 2012 Presidential Run on a Third Party Ticket

By Christopher McDaniel

This article is set to serve as a call to action for all voters that do not want to cast their vote for either Barack Obama or Mitt Romney. Rumors have caught fire within the last 24 hours that Dr. Ron Paul has not discounted a potential run on a Third Party ticket in 2012.

I know what many of you are thinking. How can he run so late in the game? I have to be honest. I do not profess to know all of the election laws in the United States, but if Dr. Paul says it can happen, then who am I to argue. So let's sum up the rumors.

Since mid-July, there have been rumors that Gary Johnson would be willing to bring Ron Paul onto the Libertarian ticket as his running mate, and that Judge Jim Gray would oblige, graciously, according to Gary Johnson "insider" Mike Cann.

Gary Johnson – “Libertarian” Candidate – is Out of His Element

In an interview with the Daily Caller, presumptive Libertarian Party nominee for president Gary Johnson tries heartily to describe his foreign policy…or at least a foreign policy. Plainly put, the man is confused. He says he supports U.S. military intervention in Uganda to root out the Lords Resistance Army and kill its leader, Joseph Kony. He thinks the drone war in Pakistan and Yemen creates more enemies than it eliminates, but doesn’t want to take drone strikes off the proverbial “table.” He wants to “completely withdraw our military presence” from Afghanistan, but wants to keep our military bases there. In fact, U.S. military bases should be maintained throughout the Middle East, he says, even though America faces “no military threats.” He supports “humanitarian intervention.": http://antiwar.com/blog/2012/04/12/gary-johnson-libertarian-...

Rumor Has It

http://libertycrier.com/politics/libertarian-party-chairman-...

The above is the LP official position. If putting him on the ticket would cost us ballot access in several states, then no other alternative party would be able to do any better, as it is looking like the LP will be the only one to have access in 50 states this time.

Let's take over Congress, instead. I'd be happy to take the blame for costing some incumbents their seats, because that will give us more clout, going forward.

What do you think? http://consequeries.com/

As I suspected...

"First, we have no indication that Ron Paul is interested in or would be willing to pursue such a path. Without such an indication, this really remains an intellectual exercise."

It's just so much mental gymnastics on the part of supporters. People are just inventing a deus ex machina when one is not forthcoming.

RP is NOT considering this and if you imply otherwise...

....you're a liar.

Whether you AGREE with him running 3rd or not or regardless of how you FEEL about it is another issue. I don't begrudge you your feelings, but feelings are not facts and the fact is it is not going to happen under any circumstances.

Oh he's considering it quitter you are just out of the loop

November 6th 2012 I voted for Dr.Ron Paul

There is no evidence under that link.

Just more rumor spreading.

YOU ARE LYING.

Deliberately deceiving people into believing one thing (evidence exists of Dr. Paul's intentions) when another thing is actually true (no evidence exists of your assertion) IS CALLED LYING.

Minus voting facts....

...is that what "objectivism" has come to?

Absurd.

Blatant fabrication? Hopelessly delusional?

Who the hell are you to post something like that in two lines.
If you have something to say, then post up your facts, or get out of the way.

PolicyMic

PolicyMic is a site that basically any of us could post on. So what happens is that someone like the OP posts an article on PM, then comes on here and says, "Hey look. Ron Paul is open to running third party! It says so on the internet."

If you're a candidate stupid enough to run R or D

I will not vote for you. I have officially reached my line in the sand, BYATCH !!!

Don't pressure him

The last thing I want to do is pressure Dr. Paul into doing something he doesn't want to do. He seemed so relieved to be leaving politics. I think he's looking forward to retiring from dealing with vipers, and looking forward to focusing on educating the rising generation and anyone else who'd listen. Considering all of the vote flipping and the cheating that has happened, him running third party would serve no purpose except to give us a name to vote for. It would be a big waste of time and money and stress for vanity's sake (our vanity, not his).

Wrong. First, even in defeat

Wrong. First, even in defeat Paul's message wins, for the crash will occur regardless of who wins. This would forever separate Paul from the two numbskulls in the major parties, especially Romney.

Second, this will definitely defeat Romney, which will teach the neocon infested GOP that they can not F with us without consequences!

There is no harm in signing the petition at ronpaul.com, or in calling the ROn Paul offices, or in emailing those same offices, or in emailing the LP leadership and requesting the two sides come together. By showing overwhelming support, we can at least make the thought a possibility.

Dr Paul is concerned that we cannot raise enough money and garner enough support to make a run worthwhile. Let's show him that his concerns are misplaced and that we have his back to the end.

This thread is a blatant

This thread is a blatant fabrication and you know it. Quit starting rumors and spreading false hope to people here. If you believe this you are hopelessly delusional.

Are You Talking to Me?

If You are, then few words.

If not, then forget what I said.

Why are You saying what You say?

How in the world did I 'start a rumor' and how am I 'spreading false hope to people here'?

I did not start this 'rumor'. I did not write this article and even the guy who wrote it did not start it. There was already a lot of threads about this before I posted this article.

Yes, it is a rumor and as long as people understand that it is a rumor which might have some truth to it or on the other hand might also be 'a blatant fabrication' there is nothing wrong about reporting rumors as rumors. Yes, of course, if one believes that this rumor is for 100% factual knowledge, then one might say that this person is 'hopelessly delusional'. But I don't see many people believing this to be the case.

'Hopelessly delusional' is a pretty strong notion to be used for a thread which is reporting a rumor.

If something is a rumor, then how can 'I know' for sure that it is 'a blatant fabrication'. 'A rumor' and 'a lie' are not the same things, even if eventually they might turn out to be the same thing.

I'll remember these words...

when Ron Paul is our first Libertarian Party POTUS.

I don't play, I commission the league.

I will bet you right here and

I will bet you right here and now that the mere fact that Ron is not on the ballot will be enough to remove all chances of him ever being elected president. Prepare yourself for a real shocker come the election... and I don't mean "shocker" in a good way.

The DP has gone to the dogs. There is nothing but spam

about 3rd party.

None of them seem to ever do homework on feasibility.

No one is posting - look here's a deadline - let's file.

No, they just push out "feel good" nonsense that has no chance of becoming reality - that is because they are doing NOTHING to make it a reality.

(and sadly, there is no time to)

I've grown weary replying to every thread that the deadlines are all passed.

They don't care.

Some of these fools think we can just "declare" Ron Paul on the ballot and "make our own rules" and somehow he'll magically be there on Election Day for you to choose from.

I think the site has been hijacked.

It's that bad.

I'm all for discussing which party or a new party to work with for the next four years, but this nonsense about trying to pull it off NOW has got to stop.

Sadly, it won't.

In an hour or two, even after there is no major announcement on Leno, there will be threads still, as if none came before hand, about running 3rd party.

It really is sickening to see the DP become like this.

And view the irony of that....

...certain RP supporters wanting to do EXACTLY what John Beener and Rience Priebus did to Ron Paul.

But it's ok if it's your guy, right?

Wrong.

The hypocracy amongst so-called libertarians (not everyone obviously) is sickening, moreso because they claim to know better, and yet they do it anyway.

Oh, but I'm "cynical" for pointing this out. (eyeroll)

100% ON BOARD

I have spoken to many people about this since the conference call last night. We have decided that this is the best course of action.

We MUST NOT be silenced. Ron Paul MUST be able to speak if only 1 last time. Look at the options - I will NEVER cast a vote for romney/obama.

I have REFUSED to speak about GJ prior to convention. My dedication was 1000% to our delegates. Convention is over. I must do what is in my and our nations best interest. It is definately NOT romney/obama.

If this were to come to fruition, our combined resources would be huge. I will leave it up to the LP, GJ and RP to decide the technicals. We MUST be respectful of that.

100% ON BOARD.

Please Run Dr. Paul!

I'm behind this 100%. Ron Paul in any capacity is better than the alternatives.

Ron Paul for president!

The U.S. Constitution neither mentions political parties, nor PROVIDES FOR THEIR EXISTENCE!

Go get them Ron Paul!I know that there is alot of people that would love this! They are tired of both parties!

Instant moneybomb

As soon as it's announced I propose Daily Paul drops the first

A third party run would be

A third party run would be tough at this point. You are going to be spending a lot of time getting ballot access in all 50 states.
