Focus on MI Districts we can WIN!!Submitted by matias.rosendahl on Sun, 01/13/2008 - 08:09
As you all know by now Democrats are not awarding any delegates in Michigan. Republicans will have 30 due to penalty set by RNC (pre-penalty was 60). The rules go as follows:
District delegates are to be allocated to presidential contenders based on the primary results in each of the state's 15 congressional districts: each congressional district is assigned (pre-penalty 3) National Convention delegates and the presidential contender receiving the greatest number of votes in that district will receive all of that district's National Convention delegates.
Rest of the pre-penalty 15 would be awarded according to following rules
National Convention Delegates are to be proportionally allocated to presidential contenders based on the statewide vote. The party leaders include the National Committeeman, the National Committeewoman, and the chairman of the Michigan's Republican Party. These delegates will attend the convention as pledged delegates by virtue of their position.
RP is currently polling from 5% to 9% which means basically nothing - the precinct results matter.
The critical issue will be democrats and independents in key anti-war precincts. We should identify the precincts we can win with anti-war, everyone going bankrupt message and hit those places hard and win. Those areas that are pro-war or expecting hand-outs from government we should leave to McCain and Romney - second place in a precinct is as good as last place.
Let's finish strong in MI and carryt the monentum to SC.
