Talking down Rand and Jesse suggests you think Ron Paul is a fool

I really can't take any more of the crap being spewed against Rand and Jesse.

For those of you Rand/Jesse haters, be sure to tell Ron and Carol that you think Rand is total shit if you ever get the chance to do it face to face - I'm sure they would appreciate your sentiments. You really should be ashamed of yourselves - the things that are said about these two - wow! What a bunch of assholes you guys are.

Rand's crime? He's not Ron Paul.

Jesse's crime? He didn't win the election against one of the most powerful and corrupt political parties ever. Yeah - you're a jerk for that Jesse!

You think Ron is too damn stupid to see Jesse the way you do - that Jesse is actually working for Romney or is just bilking the movement. Ron must be pretty dumb to not see what you guys see so plainly.

It really makes me sick. I can't believe what the Daily Paul community has sunk to. The majority here are immature children with no sense of logic, reason or patience...

Lots of trolls

is a big part of the problem, as one person said, LINO's. We have definitely been infiltrated, I just hope the true blood supporters don't fall for it. We can't afford to be naive. I am 100% behind Rand Paul and just found out he wrote a new book. He was on Glenn Beck today and Beck actually even made some sense.

This is the deification Michael Nystrom was talking about yesterday, it is unhealthy for this movement, unhealthy for this site, and unhealthy for the individuals participating in it.

take a deep breath Mr. bill . . .

Im not a Rand hater. most of us look at facts.
Fact
ron wont endorse romney EVEN NOW!!!!!
Rand did it in like 10 minutes
IMO, Rand's actions werent the real issue here.

Fact
Ron Paul is NOT infallible
So, he might have been too busy given that he was almost full time in the congressional duties DURING his full time campaign to realize what benton his FAMILY member was doing.

You dont think there should be any suspicion of Trygve???
Thats foolish!!

Anyone that came on here bashing benton or rand did it AFTER they did significant things that looked foolish and/or countered logic.
I dot remember anyone bashing anyone over their hair or suit color or something insignificant!

Ron Paul is smart and mature enough to take the DP input, IF he reads the Daily Paul, and use it as he sees fit.

Lastly, you can bluster and all these "Ron Paul supporters" can rail on and on about not wanting to hear bad things from us about the campaign, but here's a question NOONE will answer but NEEDS answered.

Ron isnt funded by large corporations who dont care about the $$ they gave him
He's funded by US!!!
Ron stopped the campaign and still had $$ in the coffers and benton knows this!!

where is it? Where'd it go? What is going to be done with it!!

What logic could benton possibly be using to think that the Libertarians do NOT want an accounting of the money left over???
simple Accountability. Not from Ron, but from the campaign management!! thats all anyone wants.

Who Do We Hold Accountable???
August 19, 2012

Not RP, not his campaign staff, not the Brand Paul turn a noble cause into a business, and target the grassroots… No accountability at all. And if anybody speaks the truth and takes issue with this THEY are the problem… Well talk to me after the convention when whatever goes down, goes down. But some folks have had enough of the run around and are moving on! You have targeted your supporters, abandoned them and now are declaring war on them… Well have your wasteland and call it victory… We deserved SO much more… Pathetic and oh SO sad! They had EIGHT YEARS to get their act together, and they want to kiss the ring, instead of throw it in the fire… Pathetic! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHPcPqtco1s&feature=youtu.

Why are we holding everybody but the people who are directly accountable, accountable? I don’t get it. Once is an aberration, twice is a coincidence, three times it’s a program, how may times do we allow them “to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory…”

http://freewillobjector.wordpress.com/2012/08/23/your-suppos...

Oh come on

You don't have to take it.

We have a bunch of garbage trucks running around the DP looking for a place to dump. See them for what they are and let them go, be and do what they want.

You've got the gold. Shine on!

Some people also need to look into Trygve Olsen's background

and ask :-
How the hell did he ever get into campaign HQ?

"In the end, more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all -- security, comfort, and freedom. When ... the freedom they wished for was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free."

Whichever way you slice it

the timing of Jesse's email and Rand's endorsement were designed to cause maximum sabotage to Ron Paul's campaign as some sort of momentum was building.

Some people just do not want to face up to the issue of the timing.

"In the end, more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all -- security, comfort, and freedom. When ... the freedom they wished for was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free."

Please

This movement gave up (not the delegates, but half of the voters/donors) long before either of those events. The last several money-bombs were flops ... Ron asked for 5-10 million and we responded with, like, 2. Joke.

I agree with the OP and I've said the same. To think Jesse wasn't following Dr. Paul's orders is to think Dr. Paul is a simpleton or a coward. Too dumb to see it happening, or too afraid to make changes. Joke. Ron Paul is probably the most courageous man I've ever seen with my own two eyes and he's smarter than ALL OF YOU.

Joke

That's why I've stopped coming here almost entirely.

Work for pay, pay for freedom
Fuck 'em all, we don't need 'em

Wrong!

We obviously gave plenty, as there is still a pretty hefty chunk left over. Even at the convention the delegates (the people) tried to get Rons name put into nomination and were cut off at every turn...and the campaign just tried to play nice and did and said nothing!

And how much of that money

went to build Jesse Benton's mansion!

rabid backlash from posters like you prevented healthy dialog

We can express any observation we like as long as we are singing the praises of the Ron Paul campaign (while they drive us into a ditch). I guarantee that Romney was not the first choice for the religious right GOP but his campaign managed to get nominated despite the fact that he had NO SUPPORTERS when he started. I say if the shoe fits let Jesse wear it.

This is no "popularity contest".

I could care less about what you think of me or any one else here who talks down Rand or Jesse Benton. However, you misrepresent the criticism of Benton. Had he listened to our advice and still lost you would not hear us complaining.

No, I do not think Ron Paul is a fool. I do think Ron Paul is a nepotist who put his family ahead of the good of the country; and I will
not waste any more time promoting Ron Paul, barring some miracle with the civil lawsuits. So, for now, GO GARY JOHNSON!

Little too harsh. Ron, Rand

Little too harsh. Ron, Rand and (presumably) Jesse agree on most every issue but there is disagreement on tactics and the value having the Romulan vs Obummer in the white house.

Personally, I agree with Ron. Snuggling up to the GOP establishment loses more than it gains, and Rom is NOT, as Rand insists, far better than O.

So Rand and Jesse are misguided, but that doesn't mean Ron should've expelled them from his campaign.

A wise man listens to a variety of perspectives before making a decision.

What?

Rand endorsed Romney. Did you expect everyone to praise him for that? I guess so. Benton calls grass roots supporters a fringe movement and wishes they would just go away. Yes, Ron is human, and he makes mistakes. We all do. Ron is not God, and some of us don't believe we are not a cult of worshipers.

These men are all individuals.

My only problem with Rand is

My only problem with Rand is that he either doesn't share my principles or is willing to compromise them for GOP gravitas. I think it's the latter, but assuming so, I much prefer the way Ron rolls.

As for Benton, I can only speculate and that's not worth doing.

I must be willing to give up what I am in order to become what I will be. Albert Einstein

Rand is okay.

But Jesse IS a fool.

Ron was too kind to give him the boot.

Yes.

Exactly. It's all about FEELINGS and not facts. Any rational person has to look at the facts and reality, what Rand has done and what Benton has done and face that reality. I'm willing to accept that there were threats that precipitated the derailing of the campaign. But not the unbelievable endorsement by Rand of his fathers competition and his premature pronouncement that the nomination process was over. Rand seemed quite comfortable with that endorsement and participating in the farce in Tampa that insulted his father.

Who does a Billionaire Consult?

Romney could EASILY bankrupt the entire Paul family with frivolous lawsuits and not blink financially.
What would I do?

I talk down Rand & Benton to give feedback

But I know Paul is behind them, I just don't know what his plan is and would like more transparency.

All three of them play politics, but the RP brand name needs to keep their feet to the fire. IE, when Campaign for Liberty spent money to fund a neocon's reelection.

If RP wants to say, "We have a deal" and explain himself, okay. But leaving people in the dark over where their hard-earned money is spent (especially when they are lead to believe it won't go towards mass-murder, torture, and bankrupting the USA)...

That's just not acceptable.

And so we as customers and costituents need to be doing our homework and calling out fishy stuff before it stinks anymore--many on the fence democrats and republicans are watching and documenting.

Benton may be a nice guy and fighting hard behind the scenes, but publicly he's RP's unwanted mouthpiece and dealmaker, often out of sync with the liberty movement's values.

IE, everything he's saying may be from backroom talk with RP. That doesn't mean you go in front of reporters and start running your mouth. And that's really how it looks.

Let us not forget...

That many of Dr. Paul's supporters are indeed young men. Some of them are therefore by definition not very experienced patient, wise and thoughtful. They tend to be impulsive just like I was when I was in my twenties and they jump to conclusions as a means of getting regular exercise.

I do agree with the OP about the poison being spread about Jesse Benton and other campaign staff members. The ones who originated the calumny are more to blame than those who absorbed the poison and passed it on heedlessly. Gossip has a way of worming its way into the hearts of men and taking root there. Unless one is forearmed against it one can easily fall for the talebearers' tricks.

Let us trust that it will soon wear off and those who have started it all will fall away or find other venues for their work.

In the meantime we should remember how we viewed Jesse Benton at the beginning of the campaign before the nonsense started. He was well liked and cheered on when he protected Dr. Paul against the more aggressive members of the media. Let us remember that Jesse and not the figment of the imagination of some confused and dark minds who are possessed of a deranged animus against him.

"Jesus answered them: 'Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.'" (John 8:34-36)

I think most of it is pure paid trollery.

"The majority here are immature children with no sense of logic, reason or patience..."

No, I think the majority of Jesse and Rand bashers are paid operatives from the Rombama campaign whose mission is to divide and conquer the Liberty Movement.

They don't have to spend a lot of money to fight us on the airwaves if they can spend a little money around here and get us to take each other out of the fight.

There may be a few who are so uninformed that they truly do not understand how political campaigns work, and may be wholly ignorant of the concept of "campaign strategy."

But since so many of the bashers claim to worship Ron Paul and the ground he walks on on the one hand, while they bash Jesse and Rand with the other, I suspect there's a lot of Rombama cash flowing around here.

My 2¢. Counting down to the first troll down votes....3....2...1

Uh, it is

Rand and Jesse who have divided the liberty movement, if there really is such division. Most of us will not support a Neocon, no matter what "promises" are made. They have made it quite plain they intend to run out any dissenting voice from the Neocon platform, they BRAG about it. I do not see how "making nice" and going along with their evil is going to result in good.

I agree

I just shake my head and ignore those threads. It always seems like the most ignorant are the loudest.

They need to get over how impure Rand is. I wonder how great of Senators they would have been in that situation.

Rand is trying to expand our base while they argue and bicker with GOP and Liberals on reddit telling them how dumb they are.

The American People have to have a change of heart. Until that happens, no amount of treading sewage will get you above the level of the electoral cesspool. Playing kissie-face with neocons won't help either.

Only Nixon could go to China. Only Clinton could pass NAFTA and GATT. Only Romney can take your guns.
