I can not in good conscience vote for Gary Johnson - if you don't understand the LIFE issue you don't understand Liberty

While I have no problem with My Ron Paul friends and Daily Paul activists choosing to vote Gary Johnson, I cannot support him and will not vote for him.

I am Pro Life, I believe once a person is created, that person has a RIGHT to exist. It's the highest form of true liberty, because if you don't have the right to exist, you have no other rights. I have heard all the variations on when life begins, some people saying multi cell structures are not humans, to those that believe in unrestricted anytime abortion like Gary Johnson. At conception, every aspect of a unique person is created in the form of a DNA strand, eyes, intelligence, height, even medical problems, there is no other person that has that exact DNA code on the planet. We have choices we make every day, we choose to marry, go to college, commit crimes, speed, back candidates and have sex. When you make that choice to have sex you know the consequences, just like when you speed or rob a bank. Once life has been created, it can't be turned back, unless that life is extinguished. Libertarianism is all based on laws that do not harm others, like legalization of Pot, but Abortion is the killing of something, no matter how small, so indeed it is harming by the act of destroying the person to be. The woman is not destroying her body by bringing a pregnancy to term, her body still has every organ and works the same regardless.

I wonder where we would be if abortions were legal back in the 1960's, 50's 40's etc? Would you be here, would Dr. Paul be here? Would Steve Jobs have been here? With well over 50 million abortions in the US since abortions were legalized, a good chance not.

For all my anti-war friends, if we allow there to be a war on the unborn, and if we don't respect life, how can we ever expect fellow Americans to care about war? Respect for life starts at the beginning, not at the end. We have cheapened life so much, that lives are now commodities, sometimes on the battlefield, sometimes on the abortion table, soon to be on death panels at your local post office like medical office. Are you too old? do you bring anything to society? are you a Republican or Democrat?, oh third party, health care denied.

It's a slippery slope, every step you take makes it that much harder to climb back up the hill.

I will write Ron Paul in, or if that's not possible vote for the Constitution Party candidate, or sit on my hands.

You do know you're being used, right?

"Pro-Life" W. Bush had a pro-life congress and did absolutely nothing to outlaw abortion.
There have been opportunities.
They(GOP) need the single issue pro-lifers the same way the democrat party needs pro-choice women to be scared of pro life republicans.

Both parties USE the unborn as a political tool and that is all.

Ron Paul was not going to outlaw abortion FYI

While I personally am against abortion entirely, this post makes it sound as if GJ is radically different in practical policy compared to RP, which if memory serves is a fallacy.

RP said he would overturn Roe v. Wade, and get the Federal Government out of the issue.

GJ I believe also said he would overturn Roe v. Wade and return this matter to the states.

The only difference is their personal views on the matter; Ron said on numerous occasions that the morality of the people must change, not the Fed imposing laws. He mentioned that abortions were still going on even when it was illegal, and was never going to "outlaw" abortion.

So this post implies a false premise.

And IMO if you are Pro-Life, than GJ is at least a step in the right direction with the repeal of Roe v. Wade.

Because you can bet Obamney ain't gonna do jack about it.

"If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy." -- James Madison

I'm with you and support your views on this

I'm doing the same. I can't vote for pro abortion. I toatlly agree and that's also where Dr. Paul stands.

Instead of having an actual vote, your just gonna write a name... Might as well just write your name, it would have the same impact.
Face it Gary Johnson is not going to win, but if he can get at least 5% of the vote and that would end the 2 party system. That would change america forever, it not about gary johnson and whether or not you want to have beer with him. It about what an open and free election would look like.

My state allows write-ins so it will be counted.

I understand your position about the benefits of Gary Johnson getting enough votes, and I considered it myself, but came to the conclusion that I could only be comfortable voting for RP. On the other hand, I'm not going to fault people for voting for Johnson.

For me, with respect to atrocity and loss of life, the abortion issue is just as serious as the foreign wars. However, I don't believe it should be decided at the national level and I'm well aware of how Republicans like to exploit this issue.

It basically came down to me voting my conscience. I didn't want to look back and have a bad feeling about concluding all my work for RP with a vote for GJ which didn't sit right with me.

To each their own...

well i was responsible and

well i was responsible and the condom broke and my girlfriend got an abortion so does that make me evil? should i call trojan and let them know they need to help me pay for this baby? or do i sign uo to welfare like everyone one else who has a baby before they are financially able to care for a baby? and you can speak of adoption but do you know the numbers of children who are not adopted and are forced to live under the care of the government like all of us refuse to do ourself? your post is ridiculous get off your high horse, life is not a miracle it happens everyday.

If your girlfriend decided to have the baby

would any of your arguments apply to why it would be ok to kill it? Of course not. If a fetus is a human life then killing it is just like killing any other human life. The questions, and the only questions are: "Is it a human life and on what rationale do we convey the right to life to anyone?"

Free and Brave
or Cradle to Grave
You can't have both

The box says 2 out of 100

The box says 2 out of 100 women get pregnant after a year of use. You shoulda read the box. And yes you did an evil thing. Adoption for infants is in very high demand. After about two years old people just don't want kids anymore because they come with too much baggage.

Oh no I did an "evil" thing?

Oh no I did an "evil" thing? I guess I should be getting a invite to an imaginary lava resort then? lol

Lava? nah, you're body is

Lava? nah, you're body is going to be burned in a saline solution while your brains get sucked up with a shop vac for eternity bhawhwhwha! JK, in all seriousness, most people don't think you did anything wrong so i think you're good. You have the knowledge of good and evil so only you can really know if you did something evil. It's not my place to tell you [even though I did, sry(but not really), it was just an opinion].

However, if it was back in the common law days and I was on a grand jury though I'd indict you for being an accessory to murder, if you are in fact the one that encouraged/coerced your GF to abort...

Here's a little youtube for you if you dare watch of an abortion survivor. yeah some of it's religious but can you really blame them for it?

mods! I need a mod! ^

Oh one other thing I wanted

Oh one other thing I wanted to point out that nearly half of women get an abortion during their life. So all my ramblings are absolutely theoretical mumbo jumbo at this point. Basically it would be higly impractical to make the penalty for abortion any more than a speeding ticket.

It's not Pro-Life vs Pro-Choice it's Pro-Intervention vs Non-

If you are a TRUE non-interventionist then you DO NOT want Gov't subsidizing abortion NOR do you want them having a monopoly over Health-Information.

If you want TRULY private health care then know that that means TRUE client-doctor "privacy" -- Which further means you WILL NOT know an individuals health-procedures NOR will you be able to control the "health protocols" a doctor has available (at his discretion).

When you say you are Pro-Life it means you will vote-to-regulate the activities of others and THAT activity begins with Zero Client-Doctor Privacy.

Only when there's ZERO Privacy can you know what an individual is up to (in this case abortion).

This means there must be a DMV, an IRS, and Public Medical Records -- Or something similar.

That assumes that only the

That assumes that only the mother knows she's pregnant. By your logic a mother can bring her newborn baby into the doctor and say, "let's give it some drugs so it'll die then we can throw it out. Doctor-patient privacy will keep the nurse from telling on us." Preposterous!

I back this fellow Patriot to vote their conscience

Let your conscience be your guide

So if I flush my newborn down

So if I flush my newborn down the toilet (as often occurs http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2012/09/28/anaheim-woman-21-f...) it is ok as long as nobody finds out? wtf? How many times do I have to say this laws are not meant to prevent crime they're meant to prosecute criminals after crime occurs.

Outlawing abortion, which has

Outlawing abortion, which has been around for thousands of years, will also require ourlawing
herbs too. Unintended consequences....

tx, that's retarded. That's

tx, that's retarded. That's like saying speed limits will outlaw fast cars. hmmmm maybe they will.

Actually enwo it was meant

Actually enwo it was meant more in a way of if you have fast cars then you're still gonna have violators. People have been doing this for thousands of years, King 545 isn't gonna put an end to it. People, individuals, have the freedom of choice.

Yeah I think absolutely

Yeah I think absolutely you're right. I pointed out that half of all women get abortions at some point in their life, these are mothers, daughters, wives, GFs, grandmothers. At this point it's just the way it is. In the past it was a similar situation with slavery, everybody did it. Unfortunately given the feudal direction of our country, looks to be reverting to historical norms. The culture has to change first. Like you say King 545 can't reverse thousands of years of momentum in one day.

Far be it from me to tell someone to violate their principles.

But, just keep this in mind.

If Obama is reelected, Roe v. Wade will NEVER be overturned.

If Obama is reelected, your tax dollars will continue to be used to fund abortions.

If Obama is reelected, your tax dollars will be used to a greater extent than ever before to fund abortion.

Obama is such a barbarian, he even supports partial-birth abortion.

You're saying that if Obama

You're saying that if Obama is reelected that Roe v. Wade will be indefinite? That's like the people that tell me that if Obama wins we will all be Muslim.

That's exactly what I'm saying.

Obama will appoint two pro-Roe Justices, bringing the count to 7-2.

There is zero chance of Willard...

overturning Roe v. Wade, especially since Willard is a known anti-lifer.

I don't play, I commission the league.

Mitt Romney is pro-life.

He himself can't overturn it, but, he can appoint Justices that will.

you're a sucker

If you believe Romney is pro-life.

You're a sucker if you think

Ron Paul is against the death penalty.

Nice straw-man

.....totally off topic and completely obvious; but I applaud your efforts to deflect.

Mitt Romney was pro Choice

Mitt Romney was pro Choice when he was Governor. Now your saying he is Pro Life. Yep, that's Romney all right. He is pro choice when their isa liberal audience and pro life when their is a conservative (gag, cough) audience.

Just the man I want in the White House, a Flip Floppin' Bilderbrg Group Liar. It sounds sooo good. Not!

Agree 100%, joeinmo

This is a great post, joeinmo!
To be honest, I am torn between writing in Ron Paul and voting Virgil Goode.
