Wasting Your Vote on the Lesser of Two Evils

Is there really a choice in the 2012 Presidential Election? We have to choose between a socialist, Obama, and a socialist, Romney. When I was in school, it was taught that communism was evil (communism is just an extreme of socialism). Some would say we have to choose the lesser of two evils when we vote, but let’s think about that. In order to pick the less of something, you have to have something that is substantially “less”. Here are some of the issues: government controlled health care, gun control, abortion, gay marriage, bailouts, corruption, NDAA supporter, war, the Federal Reserve, to name a few. A very important question is, where do these “candidates” differ?

I want to address the premise that we have to “vote for the lesser of two evils” in the first place. The people of this country have somehow been hoodwinked on this concept. Every four years, we are somehow made to believe that we “must” vote for a horrible candidate because the other guy is even worse. Common sense tells us, voting for the “lesser” of two evils is still voting for evil! If that doesn’t start getting you to think, how about what God says in the Bible in 1 Thessalonians 5:22 – Abstain from all appearance of evil.

Both candidates not only support government health care, they both “wrote it”, hence, “Obamacare” or “Romneycare”. It is unbelievable that so many people have accepted socialized medicine. A whole generation was fooled with Medicare. In the end, do you really think the government is going to “take care of you”? Well, in a sense they are because Obamacare contains death panels. And don’t think for a moment that Romney would change that.

Obama wants to disarm the American people – we already know that (UN Small Arms Treaty). As governor of Massachusetts, Mitt Romney signed an assault weapons ban. Under either one of these two “candidates”, your right to bear arms is in jeopardy.

On two “social” issues, abortion and gay marriage, Obama and Romney are no different. Regarding bailouts, Romney took a 10 million dollar bailout and “saved” Bain Capital because of it. And the media tries to get us to think that Romney is a great businessman. Is this truly how someone should run a business? We already know that Obama supports bailouts – just think GM. The National Defense Authorization Act, or NDAA for short, substantially reduced our liberties. We already know that Obama signed it. During the Republican Party debate in South Carolina, Mitt Romney said that he would sign the NDAA. Both support the Patriot Act. Again, there is no difference between the “candidates”.

The Federal Reserve is a secretive, privately owned entity in partnership with the Federal Government. They print our money and charge us interest. They print this money out of thin air, without any backing (if we do that on our printers at home they call it counterfeiting). Also, they loan out money through the fraudulent Fractional Reserve Banking System. Both Romney and Obama fully support the Federal Reserve and believe that the president should not question the “independence” of the Federal Reserve. Both Romney and Obama oppose a full audit on the Federal Reserve. Maybe both want to protect their biggest financial backers, the bankers.

Remember the song from the 1960’s, Fortunate Son, by Creedence Clearwater Revival? Google the lyrics and read them and think about what they say. They will draft OUR sons and daughters - we are not millionaires or politicians, unlike Romney or Obama, who can pay or make deals for their children to escape being recruited into required military service. So OUR children will be conscripted to fight their foreign wars. That’s what it all comes down to – money and power. Their children will not be used as disposable pawns. Henry Kissinger, who is infamously known for referring to military men as “dumb, stupid animals to be used as pawns in foreign policy”, has just been announced as a foreign policy advisor to Mitt Romney. Both Romney and Obama will attack Iran and they will use OUR children to do it. Think about why and remember the United States of America killed many Iraqi and Afghan people and many American soldiers died. Why? Did Iraq or Afghanistan attack our country?

Everyone knows (or should by now unless you are in a coma or something) how corrupt the Obama administration is. What about Romney? Did he honestly get the GOP nomination? How many people do you know genuinely support him? There are numerous incidences of fraud, cheating, and corruption during the primaries and caucuses across this nation. Don’t take my word for it, Google it! Even at the Republican National Convention the rules were changed before the vote was even cast. Part of the rules change was how many states a candidate needs to carry, increasing the number of states from five to eight, even though one of the candidates besides Romney already had the five required states before the vote. (How convenient for the Republican Establishment and the Romney campaign to eliminate any other candidate from being nominated by changing the “rules” of the election at the Convention.) During the vote, the teleprompter displays the words or “script” of what the chairman reads. The outrageous thing was that the teleprompter had the results for a rules change vote before the vote was cast! And further, the chairman called the vote in favor of the rules change even though the voice vote did not corroborate what was actually voiced. What amazing blatant dishonesty and corruption proving that the Convention is just ceremonial and the will of the American people is rendered irrelevant. In addition, Google what happened to Maine’s delegates at the Convention. What it all boils down to is that the Republican Party Establishment picked Romney for us time and time again with the help of a controlled and complacent media. And somehow we are to believe that a Romney administration will be more honest than Obama’s! It’s just “politics” as usual, isn’t it? There is no “change” we can believe in! Are you mad yet? You ought to be!

And can you really trust a single word that comes out of Romney’s mouth? He would probably win the award for the biggest flip-flopper that there is if there were such a contest. He even flip-flops his stance on an issue in the same day. He is worse than a typical politician. He is a LIAR! He doesn’t stand for anything. And of course Obama’s record speaks for itself. Did he even keep one of his campaign promises?

So, hopefully I have demonstrated that there is no difference in the “candidates” who were chosen for us by the “bosses” of the two party system. These two “candidates” are both socialists who are enemies of freedom. Mitt Romney is just a carbon copy of Barack Obama which means there is no “choice” in this election! I propose the American people vote their conscience and protest this madness and write in a candidate to prove to the powers that be that they will insult our intelligence no longer. For the most part, we don’t have an election system anymore, at least not on the Federal level. So why continue to play the game? If someone wanted to play Monopoly with you and you knew that they wanted to be the bank and cheat while doing it, would you agree to or even want to play? What would be the point? Therefore, what is the point in voting for either major political party’s “candidate”? This “game” is no different. And don’t tell me if we write in a candidate then we “wasted our vote”. The Establishment of the Republican Party gave us a weak candidate on purpose. Why? Get away from your TV long enough to ponder that one. The only “wasted” vote is one that goes against our conscience, common sense, and what is right. Shame on you if you fall for this mentality yet one more time! There is a saying attributed to Einstein that says that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

I used to wonder how in the world the Germans could have voted for Hitler. A century from now people will be wondering how Americans could have been so ignorant and voted for socialism (communism). Once enlightened, protest is our only option other than revolution. What would the American colonists have done?

If you can’t stomach writing in Ron Paul, who is founding father material and believes in the Constitution and a free market, who has a consistent voting record for liberty, small government, believes in a non-interventionist foreign policy, and wants to audit and reform our financial system, and who is really the best and honest candidate we have had in our life times, then vote for Mickey Mouse or Bugs Bunny or Aunt Clara or even yourself. It would be a better vote than one for evil.

liberty isn't, gary is

What you have probably noticed is that a lot of daily paul, people that have been keeping track of gj long before this election, don't really think he is a liberty candidate. Many posts have been written about this, and the fact that you can once again repeat "but he is a liberty candidate", still doesn't make it right. He is a liberty candidate that supports wars, supports leaving bases overseas (leaving them there..), supports FED and price fixing and so much more that constitutes a pillar of what we fought against all these years.

If you want to make an impression on GOP, there is one sound way, unless gary johnson's people here on daily paul don't manage to completely destroy that movement. And that is the fact that you can vote for Ron Paul as easily and as legitimately as for GJ, in 42 states. It counts as though he was picked in primary. So what you all are effectively doing here is lying to people that they can't do that because "Ron Paul is not running anymore", and dividing the movement by pushing forward a candidate that doesn't fair well even amongst our midst, hasn't really campaigned at all near the scale that other candidates have, and so on.

What you are securing here is that neither ron nor gary get enough votes to make an impact.

So, will you vote for fed, for price fixing, for "justified, cost-benefit" wars, when you still have the option not to?

Quit your handwringing and vote for GJ

Your vote means a lot this time - a lot more than it did in the last several presidential contests. Don't sit it out or waste it. Make it count by putting life in the 3rd party. If Obama wins, he'll be out in 4 years.

If RP is still running, let him say so. Don't go writing him in. Be a man and vote for the best candidate there is. It is not a protest vote to vote for Johnson; it is conscientious.

i can't vote

I can't vote so you don't have to worry, i'm a foreigner. Ron Paul doesn't have to say anything for the write-in rule to work. But nothing will work if intruders manage to persuade some people to leave ron paul camp and join one of enemies.

Question is...

Does Gary Johnson have ties to the CFR?

"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not." (Dr. Seuss)

CFR

Who cares? Most of the mouthpieces you see on TV are CFR. You can be a part of an organization to get its measure without being tainted by the ideas. Please keep the debate substantive.

Answer is...

A vote for Gary Johnson sends a public and visible rebuke against the GOP for their blatant corruption and fraud in 2012. It also best positions the Liberty Movement in 2014 and 2016. If the GOP continues to spiral down the neocon toilet, a good showing by GJ also gives us all a credible alternate path/party to follow in the future, should we decide to take it.

Some on the DP have claimed that GJ has ties to the CFR via people that work with him. I don't know one way or another honestly. But I won't let it affect my vote for him, because to me the #1 thing to me is to send blowback to the GOP, and best position the Liberty Movement in 2014 and beyond.

Plus, if GJ has any contacts inside the CFR, if he learned anything about the NWO I believe he would actually share it with us all, bring it all to light, and still keep America on a Constitutional course.

My 2 cents :)

If he has a CFR connection...

then voting for him is not voting for liberty. Period. Someone needs to find out for sure, if that is possible.

Here's how your message is translated

MARIJUANA

That's all they hear, see and care to think about your vote for GJ.

C_T_CZ's picture

Maybe....

Maybe...

But no matter what they hear, see, and care to think, I still choose to send some blowback their way. How they choose to interpret it is up to them.

Generally I think the Paul / Liberty Movement has done a great job in explaining our message on a wide variety of topics, including the (failed) war on drugs. If they choose to ignore everything but one topic, well they'll lose my vote in 2016 as well :)

rEVOLutionary Ads: It's Better Than Sitting On Your Rump Doing Nothing™

It's a predetor trap

What's the point of sending a message they interpret to disempower you?

Personally I think MSM and the 10 fat cats have done a great job to not get the message out.

Those 10 fat cats gave us GJ to divide the movement. Those who are under the influence of MSM are so repulsed they can't see the forrest of Ron Paul Republicans through the front man Robme tree.

Did you know that Ron Paul's campaign had so many people register Republican that our committees gained seats, and the Democrats last seats? We are winning, so why not focus on OUR work in the GOP rather than front men?

C_T_CZ's picture

We agree somewhat...

I think we're in complete agreement that the GOP needs to change, Granger.

However I choose to teach the GOP a lesson, and not contribute to their reach for power, by casting my vote for Gary Johnson. Simultaneously, I am a GOP precinct delegate and will do everything I can to change the GOP from the inside.

I have not advocated for people to leave the GOP. I want people to work from within to change it. But especially in 2012, for all the BS they pulled, all the blatant fraud and corruption, I will not vote for them.

So you want to change them from the inside, I get that. But you will vote for them in the meantime, and I won't.

I personally think the way I will send my message is more powerful than the way you will send your message. But in the end we're all Ron Paul Republicans, and I sincerely wish you all the best in your neck of the woods in rooting out all the neocon garbage. It's not an easy chore :)

I am the GOP. I am elected to my seat and I serve two years like hundreds of Ron Paul RepubliCANs. Right now I get personal emails, not robot emails, personal emails to me from Republican office holders, Board of Supervisors, City officials.. when I write a letter to the editor, It now gets published because I represent thousands of voting Republicans.

You message is for me, and people like me, who are GOP ELECTED.

You are NOT teaching me a lesson. YOU are abandoning me and those like me because 10 fat cats stole the nomintion. WE ALL KNOW THAT.

MY COMMITTEE, EVERYONE KNOWS THAT.

And those who oppose me. LOVE YOUR MESSAGE, those on my committee tell me, WE TOLD YOU SO. Your Ron Paul is a Flash in the pan. No one we need to hear from, MARIJUANA LOSERS who can't think out of a box. And they are LAUGHing that I, and all of us, would work so hard to be defeated by our own, who refuse to stand with us, but think voting for a REPUBLICAN who is leading another PARTY, is sending me/us a message.

I get YOUR message. You're NOT with me, the 10 fat cats can have the GOP and dump Ron Paul ELECTED Republicans in FEMA camps as far as you're concerned, you don't have our backs.

I would LOVE to have Ron Paul Republicans come to my meeting and tell these rats how they hurt US, instead of running to another party to teach me a lesson.

Their message to you is, GET LOST, and you are.

C_T_CZ's picture

I have not left the GOP (yet)

I'm not leaving the GOP (yet). And I am showing up to GOP meetings in my area, and I'm voicing my opinions.

But I'm not voting for the GOP nominee because of the fraud and corruption against us in 2012 primaries.

You can continue to push for people to support Romney - good luck!

I will continue to push for people to support Johnson!

rEVOLutionary Ads: It's Better Than Sitting On Your Rump Doing Nothing™

I am not pushing FOR Robme

I am pushing against the exodus to GJ by RON PAUL Republicans.

My opinion is not as important as my vote on my committee

The rule we have adopted for ourselves and intend to place in the by-laws is, Constitution = YES VOTE

I do NOT support Robme. I'm not asking anyone to support or vote FOR Robme.

I am ASKING for you to consider the seats with VOTING POWER who are in the GOP FOR RON PAUL.

Your vote FOR GJ disempowers us, as it does EXACTLY what Robme and his 10 fat cats want.

You Got their Message: GET LOST!

Your vote says: YES SIR!

A Vote For Johnson = Vote For Liberty And Support For Ron Paul

A vote for Gary Johnson is a vote for Liberty and shows support for Ron Paul.

A vote for Romney is a vote for the GOP, for the fraud and corruption of 2012, for their continued fielding of horrible neocon candidates.

I got their message: GET LOST!

So what am I going to do? I am going to vote for Gary Johnson, while simultaneously maintaining my GOP precinct delegate seat and while being a thorn in their side.

I do *not* need to support the GOP while I am trying to change it. In fact the GOP has done NOTHING in 2012 that makes me want to support them, even a little bit.

I applaud your activism Granger, and no doubt we all would be better off if everyone went out and became truly active. But right now Ron Paul Republicans are in the minority of the Republican Party, and I have no interest in supporting the neocon majority of the Republican Party with my vote. Even if it means, by association, I am not supporting the Ron Paul Republicans who have already infiltrated into the GOP. I'm extremely certain they all will understand my position. Indeed, I expect the vast majority to join with me in voting for Gary Johnson.

rEVOLutionary Ads: It's Better Than Sitting On Your Rump Doing Nothing™

I don't see Ron Paul as an Island

I see hundreds of elected Ron Paul Republicans like myself who are being hung up to dry in the name of Ron Paul by the same people who hoped he would FAIL in the GOP so they could FORCE him, and us, to do it their way. And they only thing they have for their way is their fear and loathing of the MSM propeganda and boasting of the 10 fat cats.

We are the minority and this GJ push is hurting US, not the fat cats. GJ who is a red herring for those whose consciencness has nothing to do with fighting, but running away, in high hopes there will be a third party or indy run eventually.

Too many have no idea of the work Nader and political activists did, we KNOW there will not be a Indy president because the NWO global corporations corporations have a plan, and those who run away to GJ are doing EXACTLY as they wanted, leaving Ron Paul's elected Republicans like sitting ducks.

Yes we infiltraited, that's exactly how they see it, TROLLS that must be eliminated.

Of course GJ will return to the GOP when he's done being a pawn to mislead Ron Paul Non-Republicans and Republicans alike to never- never land.

A vote for the GOP is to empower the Ron Paul Republicans to enable them to FIGHT BACK armed with the constitution.

We know what we're up against, and truley it's a shame so many say they applaud us, but whan it comes to helping, forget it.

I understand. It's not like I didn't know what I was up againt, I overestimated the sincerity and willingness to FIGHT for Restoring constitutional government.

We have tried..

to reform the GOP at the federal level. They are even more corrupt or they have displayed even more blatant corruption.

I think our only bet to any reformation of the GOP is at the lowest levels - starting with our towns and counties.

I became a committeeman last year and my husband became a town councilman.

That's what we need to do. Reforming the party at the federal has proven to be a total failure.

We really have run out of time. I agree with the post above. Time to really get serious about survival preparation and buying silver. I've been doing both since 2007. I'm going to concentrate more on this from now on; however we are going to support and help some local candidates.
