What is it called when you willingly do something that you believe to be immoral?

Right now a whole lot of republicans are getting ready to vote for someone who they know is for abortion, a big government spender, wrote the mandatory health care law and very very liberal. The republicans for the most part believe all this is wrong, but will ignore all that and vote for someone they think is bad because of obama.

Right now the democrats are about to vote for someone who has an assasanation list, started several wars without congresses consent, broke all his promisis about bringing the troops home, and also hurt civil liberties in many many ways. Most of the democrats believe these things are wrong, but are going to vote for obama anyway because they think the republicans must now win they will somehow be worse.

Both groups are flatly going to ignore their moral compass and vote for evil, heck even to the point that they will defend their evil with loud arguments, and banging of the chest and fire in their eyes, all the while saying I am voting for the lesser of two evils. I remember reading here and there about how some proffesors and psicolagest did experments to see if they could make people do what they thought was wrong, and what that did to a man, but I do not know what it is called or know where those links are now, as I was just reasing that as a rabbit trail for other subjects. If anyone knows links to those articles it would be appreciated, or if someone knows the term or terms used to define this I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

EXCELLENT observation!!! .

Gov't learned too much/too well from that experiment!

A patriot must always be prepared to defend his country from his government.

First you need to define immoral.

To the neo-cons WE are immoral because we do not blindly support the state of Israel. We are immoral because we want to close bases and defend OUR borders instead of crusading for "democracy". You see,we might as well be the devil to the typical neo-con and to the liberal for that matter. To us an individual's right to be and make mistakes is wicked to someone who wants to use the force of government to make us safe from ourselves.
So,in light of this reality all we can do is be the torch of freedom in an increasingly tyrannical nation until the world becomes dark enough for the masses to see the flame and reach for it.

Apparently the lesser of two

Apparently the lesser of two evils results in people being divided for no reason while the evil leaders run amock.

It's called "LACKING INTEGRITY", "lacking CHARACTER", in sum: WEAK.

The left believes they better hold their nose and vote Obama (i.e. compromises) because they don't want Rmoney in and visa versa.
