now you see

why it would be so hard for the liberty movement to penetrate the Democrat party. I am afraid they are too far gone. Most are full blown socialists or communists. They won't even defend the idea of individual liberty, in fact, they loathe such talk. And they are so sure of their superior thinking, they would never consider another point of view. You might as well write these people off, they are simply useful idiots. The sad part is that many of them are supposedly highly educated. They are always the first to tout their various degrees. How many times have you run into these "educated idiots" in the workplace. They are so full of their great ideas that they never believe it when their ideas don't work in practice. A mind is a terrible thing to waste.

unfortunately,

the Fox News idiots are just as bad

“With laws shall our land be built up, but with lawlessness laid waste.”
-Njal Thorgeirsson

thats true

most right wingers won't believe anything that doesn't come from Fox.

I don't blame these folks.

I don't blame these folks. They distrust corporations and they think their govt has their best interests. Little to they know anything about money or that our govt is already capping THEIR PROFITS by taxing them and stealing the money and giving it to war contractors.

Kind of like republicans who

Kind of like republicans who don't trust government and trust big multinational corporations to police themselves. There has to be a happy medium somewhere in the middle.

No, there needs to be zero

No, there needs to be zero regulations aside from liberty violations and an end of corporate personhood. People need to be responsible for their own endeavors, which means the free market regulating enterprise, capitalists being held accountable for their own risks and mistakes rather than the government being their to nurture their success and regulate their endeavors, and everyone reaping the entire fruits of their labor.

Liberty|Death

I do blame these folks.

They are showing no common sense. And even worse, they vote.

Surely there had to be one

Surely there had to be one who didn't agree with what he was saying. Good grief!

I think some of that should

I think some of that should be taken with a grain of salt. Some of those people didnt seem so sure on agreeing and some looked like they were in general agreement with the statements made without actually saying they wanted to take peoples money. I also have to wonder how many people he went up to that were smarter than that versus the number who answered on the video.

That said, yes, I think its a bit scary what those people thought. Banning profits? That is still rediculous.
Heres something I think you may agree with though: Ban corporate profits if they get money from the government. haha Bailouts are bad, banning profits are bad, but do two wrongs make a right in this case? I will let you think that over!(alright, this is just a funny thought, dont take it as a sincere belief)

To climb the mountain, you must believe you can.

A lot of talk radio does

A lot of talk radio does this. They edit the video and present it like they want to to tell the story they want to tell. For example, Breitbart and Sherrod.

We have so much work to do

to educate the ignorant that do not have a clue about free markets. I tried to watch a few minutes of the DNC today and had to stop when I became nauseated.

I don't know if this is more

I don't know if this is more funny than scary or more scary than funny. Evidently all that money we have put into education hasn't helped much.

OMG...

Are you serious? people think like that? We are in some serious trouble!!...this must be some serious brainwashing, or just some deeply rooted bad ideologies...I almost want to laugh but then you realize this is serious...very troubling indeed!! It's just a general question!! I would have even been a bit relieved if they all just said "let me consider the question, because I don't know enough about the subject"...but nooo! it's off the top ropes right away....lol!

Fear knocked on my door and Faith answered!

Fantastic, well done

... but so scary :-(

LOL Van Jones

Van Jones knew who he was.

This deserves a Drudge Bomb

...and if Drudge doesn't make this go viral, we should.

If you aren't ready to understand that free markets are better than big government trying to regulate, watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Ttbj6LAu0A

and this one addresses crony capitalism:

This is a classic! Best thing I think I've seen Peter do! This should be on thew nightly news! And they call US "fringe". This video was entertaining, enlightening and actually quite worrisome. Thank you Peter!!!!

I'm torn between pitying the

I'm torn between pitying the stupidity of the many Americans (especially those hiding in the Democratic party) and laughing at their stupidity. Regardless, Schiff is hilarious here ... Peter, keep messin' with their minds at inch at a time... Maybe, the lights will flicker a bit.

LMAO! Don't give those kooks

LMAO! Don't give those kooks any ideas Peter Schiff!

My goodness! ...and they call

My goodness! ...and they call RP supporters the "fringe element"??? Is this for reaL?

Truly frightening.

That video literally made me sick to my stomach.

lol

Along with "Anonymous Hacks Voting Machines, Finds Rigged Election" this was the funniest thing I've seen all day.

Hilarious. So many people are so pathetically ignorant it's amazing.

And horrifying. All at once ...

wow

people can really be that dumb?

Having fun...

I know Peter was just having fun but can someone spell out both arguments here in a serious tone. Why DEMS like caps or hate profits and where does that philosopy originated and vice versa...

Thanks....

Ez

I think

Colorado Sean is exactly right.

Another way to look at it is Peter was saying "ban corporate profits" or in other words make all corporations non-profits.

People generally associate non-profits with doing work for some noble cause. It's unfortunate these people don't understand capitalism enough to know how it's supposed to work, what drives it. They just hear of the insane amounts of money the rich make, and, truthfully, in a dollar distorted system biased to their favor.

Banning profits wouldn't seem so outlandish in that context.

We've got a lot of educating to do.

Listening to Grandparents

Listening to those in their 70's & 80's I hear the same themes:

They didn't want anything for free but they demanded access.
They took direct responsibility for community and did not look to a third party (gov., etc..)
They were civil & civic minded
They saw a bright future and wanted a part of it.
They saved... then they bought.
They knew "the rules", but mostly it all seemed fair to them.

I think they were right. That this did exist. Statistics show that CEO's made about 50 times the lowest paid person in the average company in the 50's. Today there is a chasm. The discrepancy is a thousand fold.

What happened? "The rules" changed and they were changed by a handful of people not "The People". So if you understood the new rules you benefit if you don't you are in trouble. We now live in a cronyist society that is less meritocratic than it was for my grandparents.

And so... for many people who know nothing different they cannot understand that cronyism is the threat, not capitalism. They have become one in the same. Doug Weade said it very well. We have become a country of a small group of insiders and a growing group of outsiders.

Over time, incrementally, my grandparents believed their country had been hijacked. I think Grandad had a lot of insight.

"One resists the invasion of armies; one does not resist the invasion of ideas" Victor Hugo

They are confused.. on purpose.

1. They don't understand economics so it is easy to make simple judgements.
2. Crony capitalism is what gets highlighted in the press.
3. Corrupt business leaders get press (Tyco, Worldcom, etc..)
4. Monetary policy is killing their buying power but they don't know why
5. They are seeing the results of overall policy that is bankrupting our country but know none of the details.

So... these people are being fed that all capitalism, profits and wealth are corrupt/cronyist. That money is bad. That being equal means getting the same rewards not having equal access to succeed. You can't tell the majority of Democrats any different and they can't articulate why.

Republicans are mislead to believe that aggressive foreign policy and offense are actually defense. You can't tell the majority any different and they can't articulate why.

It is a sad manipulation, divide and control.

Bump!

Well said!!! :)
