Ron Paul got 42,426 that were counted in the 2008 General Election.
Submitted by RONonymous on Thu, 09/06/2012 - 20:25The Federal Elections Commission reports that Ron Paul got 42,426 votes as a write-in in 2008 while the Libertarian Party candidate got 523,715 votes, more than 10 times as many. More may have voted for Ron Paul but because of the state's laws on write-in votes they were not counted or reported. Gary Johnson is a much better candidate than the candidate that the Libertarian Party ran in 2008 and will surely get many more votes. Gary will be on the ballot in all 50 states.

If you are going to write-in Ron Paul's name then you should know the laws.

Let's send a message of Liberty that will be counted and reported!

Because Ron Paul didn't endorse the Libertarian Party candidate
in 2008 or else nobody would have written him in.
Give it up and move forward.
'nuf said.
It would be awesome
if Ron Paul got more votes as a write-in than Gary Johnson got as the LP candidate. I'm voting Ron Paul!
Sorry, but these weren't all write-in votes!
In Montana, the Constitution Party put Ron Paul's name on the ballot despite his request to remove it.
In Louisiana, the Louisiana Taxpayers' Party put Ron Paul name on the ballot. The philosophy in Louisiana is that the actual election is for the presidential electors, and not the candidate whom they support:

Thus no candidate's permission is required in LA. (The deadline to do this again this year was Sept. 4th.)
There may have been some write in votes reported but the vast majority of Ron Paul's votes had to come from these states.
The Libertarian Party is on
The Libertarian Party is on the ballot in only 43 states so far. I, however, will write in Dr. Paul unless he becomes VP for GJ.

What if Ron Paul was GJ's
What if Ron Paul was GJ's Secretary of the Treasury? Something that is probably assured with a Johnson win..
