New Michigan and New Jersey Polls

Good news out of New Jersey. Without any campaigning Ron Paul is at 8% according to a Research 2000 poll. (400 likely Republican voters, margin of error 5%)

Giuliani 34%
McCain 18%
Romney 11%
Paul 8%
Huckabee 8%
Thompson 3%

He's climbing higher.

The latest Michigan polls have Paul lower, but newspapers (aside from The Des Moines Register) aren't usually as accurate as the previous polls.

Romney 27%
McCain 22%
Huckabee 16%
Paul 5%
Giuliani 4%
Thompson 4%

Detroit News:

McCain 27%
Romney 26%
Huckabee 19%
Giuliani 6%
Thompson 5%
Paul 4%

Mitchell Research:

McCain 22%
Romney 21%
Huckabee 12%
Paul 7%
Giuliani 7%
Thompson 3%

Mason-Dixon

Romney 30%
McCain 22%
Huckabee 17%
Thompson 7%
Giuliani 6%
Paul 5%

I know that these numbers aren't as good as the previous weeks, but Paul has always shown to place at the high end of the polls so I'm still looking for him to beat Giuliani and Thompson. And with New Jersey starting out that high, there's not reason we can't get him into double digits and maybe a third or second place finish. He should be able to beat Huckabee in the Garden State.

Giuliani's New Jersey coup

Unfortunately, third place (or even second) would be a meaningless symbolic achievement in New Jersey.

Giuliani's cronies, aware of his strength in New Jersey (particularly the farther north you go, as it's close to NYC), recently managed to change New Jersey's GOP primary to "winner take all."

I believe its WTA by Congressional District + statewide

We CAN beat Rudy in the 13th in NNJ and in the South 1st and 2nd. Also the heavily Democratic district in Newark.

Every district is treated evenly although some have a lot more Republicans.

Its like California.

I live in Hoboken in the 13th.

I didn't even look closely at the New Jersey polls. Ron Paul could easily get second place with a little work! And if Giuliani drops out after Florida, he could win!
