Had a dream tonight

I was riding bikes with some friends from work, listening to music from the mid 80's. All songs were period which threw me off.

Then I hopped in my car and was listening to Tears for Fears and looked over and a new neighbor (new to that period, in fact unknown at all at that point in time, our kids go to school together) and I were driving.

Everybody Wants to Rule the World.

Welcome to your life
There's no turning back
Even while we sleep
We will find you
Acting on your best behavior
Turn your back on mother nature
Everybody wants to rule the world

It's my own design
It's my own remorse
Help me to decide
Help me make the most
Of freedom and of pleasure
Nothing ever lasts forever
Everybody wants to rule the world

There's a room where the light won't find you
Holding hands while the walls come tumbling down
When they do I'll be right behind you

So glad we've almost made it
So sad they had to fade it
Everybody wants to rule the world

I can't stand this indecision
Married with a lack of vision
Everybody wants to rule the world
Say that you'll never never never never need it
One headline why believe it ?
Everybody wants to rule the world

All for freedom and for pleasure
Nothing ever lasts forever
Everybody wants to rule the world

I was driving home from work a few weeks ago and the song came on, playing out of Stanford of all places...

And even though I've heard the song played out, never quite listened to the lyrics. But they were fitting and I started bawling because it made sense and I finally realized what Tears for Fears meant. Only took me 15 years! :)

But then I woke up from my dream tonight because I heard my neighbor hooting and hollering in some Indian Language and I knew I was dreaming.

I don't know if anyone goes to this forum, but I figure it's where it belongs.
