RNC Corruption: Should Libertarians Leave Republican Party? by Julie Borowski

The RNC mistreated Ron Paul and his delegates. Does this mean it is time to leave the Republican Party? Or does it mean that libertarians are being effective in the GOP?

Gary is our man folks

Never bother to prostitute yourself with the GOP.

I totally agree . . .

. . . with the young lady. I've wanted to say to all here for a while that it's over for Ron. Get over it and support the Republican candidate for president. Then vote for Libertarian candidates on a local and federal level. That's how you really win in the longrun. Prepare the country for Rand. Show the people how Libertarians can get things done. I love Ron and have for a decade. But it's time to let go and move on.

Should Libertarians leave the GOP? A better question is.....

Should the REPUBLICANS leave? How can anyone bear to remain associated with such SCUM? EVERYONE should leave and I guess the Democrats have shown identical true colors at their convention. Voter Fraud abounds in both parties. Nobody cares about the grassroots of having a fair election. It is all about maintaining the status quo.

OK, so what WOULD teach the GOP a good lesson?

The question isn't should liberty candidates run for office and do they need our support. That's easy. The question is what to do with our 2012 presidential vote, and how to have the greatest impact in November and beyond. If I thought it would be reported, I'd write in Ron Paul... but it just won't be.

Does "staying with the GOP" mean voting for Romney? Maybe our voting for Romney would help more liberty candidates in future elections, but is perpetuating the two-party system the best way to support the liberty movement? I think it's the heart of the problem. What does she expect Democrats who support Ron Paul to do? Stay with the GOP without him? I don't know of any who are, so why can't they move to the Libertarian party without being told their running away?

Plus, she's simply wrong about the GOP not attacking 3rd party candidates and their supporters. The GOP IS challenging 3rd party candidates like Gary Johnson to keep them off of the general ballot. Besides, Ron Paul is essentially a 3rd party candidate. It's the liberty message that Ron Paul carries that is a threat to the GOP, not his running as a Republican. "Boots on the ground" is about as clear of a strategy as "hope and change" was. Not a very useful video in my opinion. Actually, it kind of pissed me off which is probably not the desired reaction, but I sincerely appreciate her fight.

The GOP has lost its way

I merely want to report why I'm no longer registering as a Republican Party voter. The Party no longer has much in common with my value system, thus it fails to represent my interests in shaping government policy. I see no reason to be affiliated with this party even as other parties fail just as badly and many fail worse. Think what you will, and do what you will. I'm not posting here to change anyone's mind.

What's Crazy About Our Constitution?

Not a chance in the world I'm voting for Romney.

I think staying with the Republican party in order to change it is like asking an abused woman "to stick by her man". They want us gone...let's go. My honest hope is that Romney loses by a percentage equal to or greater than the amount of votes that Gary Johnson gets. It will then become apparent that The Republicans are doomed without the libertarian wing of the party. They'll either given in to us or go the way of the dodo bird; either one is fine with me. But, what if Dictator Obama ruins the country before the 2016 election?...four words: gold, silver, guns and ammo! Not necessarily in that order.

Gary Johnson 2012!!!

Live Free or Die Trying

You want four more years of Obama?

Go ahead, take votes away from Romney and give them to Obama. You know that Johnson's not going to win so you're just pissing in the wind. WAKE UP!

And, then, we focus on NULLIFICATION of all 50 states!

My guess is all of this wont

matter much when the global economy completely collapses. The people will be hungry. Pissed off. And will be looking for some "payback." Now is probably not a good time to be in "power." Cambodia?

With all this talk

With all this talk about quitting I was going to post a long a comment calling out the trolls, but I honestly have just ceased to care at this moment.

When looking for someone to blame, you need look no further than the nearest mirror.

If we lose, it will be because of people giving up. Go ahead and quit, but don't you dare blame it on anyone but yourself if we slip back into being irrelevant. Especially without blame, are all the people who worked so hard and sacrificed so much to elect everyone we have to local, state, and federal power positions in government and the GOP.

Edit: Bring on the down votes, I've seen plenty of legitimate points down voted to oblivion here so I suspect no different of mine.

GOP is NOT my Party

After my Ron Paul write-in vote in November I'll be going back to Independent. I am only in this party because of Ron Paul,I have ZERO allegiance to this Stalinist party!

Why wait?

"After my Ron Paul write-in vote in November".

It's not a primary, anybody can vote or write in anybody. Quit now, or better yet we should all do it simultaneously in an "unregister bomb".

I suggested that a while back, got a record number of down votes! :)

'Cause there's a monster on the loose

You're right!

Just checked my voting laws in my state, I can absolutely go back to Independent now. Thanks. I just voted you up to take one of the -1's off you. Respect, you're purple, you've been around since 2007. ;)

I was only Republican to vote for Ron Paul.

At least, that's how it's been for many years.

I hope there's a mass exodus.

Same for me Kevin,

Same for many of us. Unregister folks!

You can come back to the GOP when it's time to vote in the primary for another libertarian candidate.

To leave the GOP or not to leave is currently irrelevant...

for most of us. The candidates have already been chosen for 2012. There is nothing that can be changed for this election cycle. The changes that could have made should have been attempted during the previous year, like we have been trying to do, not now. It's too late, now. The political memory of people is very short, so whether we stay or go only matters to those who already have positions within the RNC. If you do not have a GOP position, then to stay or not is irrelevant.

If people are woken up now, they will be waking-up to a nightmare of no real choices among nearly all of the current political races. For example, Rand's endorsement of Romney means that he would like others to also vote for Romney, us included. Why does one make endorsements? Answer: To have an impact on how others vote. How is Romney winning going to change anything? As you can tell, I don't like this current political game at all. The heart of the Liberty Movement is being eviscerated by all of these actions of trying to change this party from within, IMO. What will be left when this process is completed?

Let the GOP die off.

Stop trying to "take it over." Its demographic continually shrinks. We don't need it.

Let it shrink until it is a third party in its own right, then we don't have to take it over.

Frankly I want no association with the name GOP, Republican

RNC or anything else that represents a criminal element.

Anyone who votes for Mitt Romney

should fall off a cliff. He or She is signing on to BE A MALE WHORE OR A CONCUBINE serving GOP and the ISRAELI RIGHT WING!!!!!

We can outnumber the baby boomers!

Hey, I'm a baby boomer

and I've supported Ron Paul since 1987! Go easy on us "old farts."

Anyone that sticks with the GOP/RNC is a fool. Plain and simple.

How many times do you need to get burned before you walk.

Romnites bring on the down votes!

Anyone who sticks with you is

Anyone who sticks with you is a fool, I think you're a fake

Would you like me to send over my PCP Credentials?

Would you like to know what I went through in front of my entire County GOP Party trying to convince them the CD1 Oregon Alternate delegation was nothing short of fraud and abuse of power?

I have good reason to leave the GOP/RNC. I've exhausted all of my resources, and I was still burned at the National Convention.

80% of that room felt the RNC/GOP will apologize and redress their wrongs by "Grievance Letters" and "appropriate contact" - whatever the %$#& that means.

"I think you're a fake" - I'll tell you what accusations speak loudly. I'm calling you out.

You called us fools

You called us fools for staying GOP, how long have you been in the GOP? What do you think Ron Paul had to go through for 30+ years in the GOP. There would of been no Ron Paul Revolution if Ron Paul would of left the GOP. You have no dedication, work ethic, and once you figure out what third party's are all about what will you say then?

I've been a Republican since I could vote about 15 years total.

No. I'm not an old fool buying the same old line over and over expecting a different result.

I studied the history of the GOP and RNC and I found this is a cyclic pattern, and that every generation seems to think "we just gotta stick with our party and all will be ok".

No ethics? Let me tell you by staying with the RNC/GOP and supporting them by doing so, you are effectively an accessory to all that has happened and that will happen as the years continue forward.

Don't use the Dr. as an example, please. In case you don't remember Paul resigned from the Republican Party in 1987 to run as a Libertarian.

Trial and error says one thing: LEAVE or stay and continue indirectly supporting the cyclic GOP/RNC corruption.

Ron Paul came back to the GOP

Ron Paul came back to the GOP & since then there are more & more Liberty Minded people in the GOP. People now more than ever know about the federal reserve.

SteveMT's picture

I hear you, Miguel.

Ron Paul did come back to the GOP, but he retained the same values that he had before. He changed nothing else. If the message had changed, then no one would have been awaken to this tyranny.
