2300$ Cap ... workaround?

I'm a devoted reader here, solid RP supporter, but infrequent poster... with a question on the 2300$ donation cap. This is important to me and my family members because of the upcoming money bomb, since several of my family members are capped out. I caught somewhere today that it is possible to donate for the general election as well? Mitt is now, at any rate... is this also true of RP's campaign?

~Mitt has called back all of his major fundraisers to have a huge national donation day like that had early last year. All of the people that donated the maximum allowed will be allowed to donate to Mitt again since Mitt is now accepting donations for the general election~

Is what I just found online... any ideas fellow revolutionaries?

Another thing we can do as

Another thing we can do as grassroots is get billboards put up across the nation. I have a few billboard ideas that aren't expressly stating or endorsing Ron Paul so can skirt around the max contribution that wayas well. Here is one of the ideas:

That does sound fishy

I'm not sure we want to base our decisions on the actions of some of the other candidates. My guess is that Ron Paul will play by the rules and start accepting donations toward the general election once he is nominated.

There are other ways to support Ron Paul. As someone already noted, there is the Blimp.

You can also sign up to be a Ron Paul Precinct Leader at

Canvasing your precinct is like printing money;)

Yes Sign Up As A Precinct Leader, but Donate to PACS

If you have extra money and have hit the 2,300 limit to the official campaign, then you send it to third parties you support paul if they are not linked with the official campaign.

I wish I had your problem. I

I wish I had your problem. I cannot afford to give the full amount for our home allowed by law. We have one income and homeschool 5 children. I would be happy to give any amount you care to give to me, though. We would have to have an honor system of Gifts for Freedom. It would have to be a gift with no legal strings attached or it would be subject to federal law. In essence, it would be a system of trusting someone you never met with no recourse if they rip you off. Not a great system, but I do think some people are honorable enought to trust. I cannot think of any other way to give to HQ. www.preteristcentral.com presteristcentral@zianet.com We can talk.

You can still donate to pacs

Please consider donating to operation broadcast freedom. You and your family members can donate another 5,000 each to this effort. This does not violate any of the 2,300k limit. Please consider donating for tv ads in mi, sc, and nv. Here is the link: http://www.operationbroadcastfreedom.com/
We need to donate money for the upcoming primaries and donate for the general election in the summer and fall.

That is definitely not allowed

I am almost positive that is illegal.

Donating to Political Action Committees is NOT ILLEGAL

Folks, donating to pacs is not illegal, especially when people are trying to raise honest funds for paul. You can absolutely donate up to another 5k to the operation broadcast for freedom because it is not tied to the official campaign. If you are at the 2,300 per person limit then you can head to that web page.

I could be wrong but...

I believe Mitt is violating the McCain Feingold Act!
But, I doubt McCain will warn him - just have him arrested!

I think you can only donate towards the general election AFTER the candidate is chosen, or drops out of the primary and goes 3rd party.

However, you can donate to a PAC (like the liberal's moveon).
I think that there is a Liberty PAC, but I'm not sure.

Try googling Ron Paul PAC.

Donate to the Operation Broadcast Freedom instead of

I am not worried about raising money for the general election, but if you maxed you can donate the general election. Why would you if can donate to a legit Ron Paul supporter trying to run tv ads in the upcoming three states?

muddy water

I would just donate time or donate money to grassroots organizations (blimp, chipins, etc), looking for a workaround is looking for trouble.

Keep in mind that it is $2300 per individual. If you are married, you can donate $2300 per person = $4600

I'm active locally...

in the trenches, as it were, but I'd like our next money bomb to have as much impact as possible, as I think it may very well be important for the long term. On another note, the silver coin idea is bloomin brilliant...lol

~Live life to its fullest, with an open heart, open arms and most important... an open mind~

There's also a sneakier way to donate.

Nobody's tried it yet, but if you gave the RP campaign a Silver Dollar worth ~$20 today and it was stamped legal tender as $1 and gave it to the campaign, legally, you've only donated $1. Check out this ruling:

Anyhow, it seems to me that after all that laughing at that Ron Paul has had to endure about his Gold Standard and alternative currencies speeches, the best way to demonstrate the power of the Gold Standard would be to hold a "Hard Money Drive". IMHO, that would send death chills across the political and financial landscape by proving the concept.

Silver dollars!!!

But of course!!!!

Bloody Brilliant!!!
