Jesse Benton Goes to Work for Mitch McConnell

Politico: Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has hired a loyal aide to Rep. Ron Paul and fellow Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul to run his 2014 reelection bid -- the latest sign of how the wily leader is already preparing to head off any tea party insurgency and Democratic challenge.

McConnell announced Thursday that he's hired Jesse Benton, who led both Ron Paul's 2012 presidential campaign and Rand Paul's 2010 Senate campaign, to run his reelection bid for a sixth term.

"We're committed to running a presidential-level campaign in Kentucky and that starts with a presidential campaign manager," McConnell said. "Jesse is literally the best in the business at building and organizing conservative grassroots movements and I'm thrilled he's chosen to return to Kentucky to lead my campaign."

Since Rand Paul defeated McConnell's hand-picked Senate choice in the 2010 primary, the leader has worked to win over the younger Paul, giving him political advice in that campaign, allowing him to operate independently in the Senate and touring the state with him back home. Such moves — including the latest hire — have helped cool speculation that McConnell could be vulnerable to a tea party primary challenger in 2014.

Enemy List

**disclaimer: this is purely hypothetical***

IF we as Liberty Lovers and the true sons and daughters of the American Revolution were to have an enemies list of those who need to be rounded up and "dealt" with after the dust settles, the #1 name on the list could very well be:

Mr. Jesse Benton

Gold. Guns. Girls.

He is just another republican. The ROTTEN-TO-THE-CORE party needs to be completely abandoned to move forward. COMPLETELY.

Brother Winston Smith

The r3VOLution is NOT republiCAN.

Jesse Benton

significantly contributed to sabotaging a rare--and perhaps the last and only-- opportunity to elect an honest man into office by sheer competence,if not collusion.

Thanks Jesse. When my family and I are living in Post Fascist Amerkia, I'll remember how you did your part to bring it about for thirty pieces of silver.

Conscience does not exist if not exercised

"No matter how cynical you get, it's impossible to keep up!
---Lily Tomlin

Rand is the future, McConnell knows that

Ron hired Jesse, his grand daughter's husband, for his campaign. If he was betrayed, I need to hear it from Ron Paul himself.

All this chatter is just that. Politics is a messy business and even Ron supported people he did not agree with--just because he was a republican.

This is more about McConnell saving his own arse.

We don't need evidence of betrayal!!!

Ron Paul is no longer in the 2012 race and didn't get a speaking spot at the convention - isn't that evidence enough to HATE this guy?

Ron Paul suspended his campaign and stopped his rallies when he was drawing 11,000 people and picking up delegates and much needed support. Why stop spreading the message?
Ron Paul himself said he was in it to the end...the end of what Ron? Benton called it off before he got there - it's sooo obvious.
There was no push back or law suits from the campaign about the fraud and bullying against the State RP delegates. Why not, the law was clearly broken many times?
The Campaign never attacked Romney like they did Santorum and Gingrich. The Campaign went soft on anti-Romney commercials. Why? if the RP campaign exposed Romney for who he is, we could have forced a brokered convention and things could have been different - much different.

Now it looks like we have been left only the choice between two evils for President and Mitch McConnel getting re-elected in 2014

Thanks Jesse (Jack Ass)

Preparation through education is less costly than learning through tragedy

Good luck

building a "grassroots" movement for that douche.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist, I'm just well-informed

Well aint that a contradiction

"building and organizing conservative grassroots movements" for one person to build and organize a grassroots movement it is what i would call it un-possible. This tells me McConnel doesn't understand shit or the term grassroots.

This is how it started...

Here's the launch of the 2012 Paul campaign and Benton showing how professional he is. McConnell just did the Liberty movement a huge favor.

OK, so who are we running against McConnell/Benton?

We need to win that primary!!! We can take down two birds with one stone.

Cuimhnigh orm, a Dhia, le haghaidh maith.

I will...

But wouldn't know where to begin...

Great idea.

Thank You Jesse!

You have done an excellent job EXPOSING YOURSELF. I got the creeps from you during the 1st campaign, I knew you were a petty prick.

oh brother: Alex Jones just went apesh*T

here are a few of the recent blurbs on BeneDICKt Arnold Benton-ism:

I have AJ streaming LIVE in the background interviewing Jesse Ventura, where he just announced again (1st said on Joy Behar's show) that if a complete 100% grassroots can get him 100% ballot access in all 50 states, he may run for POTUS in 2016, as a NO-PARTY individual candidate.

prior to the Ventura's segment, some R3VOL caller pushed for RP's 3rd party run, etc. etc. and AJ just went ape like a girlfriend who got cheated on. the reaction was genuinely real

he is REALLY, REALLY "hurt."

he screamed and pledged "we don't need you!" "don't call us!" to Dr. Paul and Rand, as he cannot fully acquit Ron as he did hire and KEEP Benton; fair criticism.

but then, he went on to say he's done talking about him... in the 'he doth protests too much,' then in the next segment, calmed down, and talked about him, again! Then ran an entire segment of "AJ Walk" in Austin asking people whether RP should run against Perry for Texas governorship! lol.

then, Ventura praised RP's foreign policy.

LOL. you can't run from our Doc.o)

hope AJ calms the F' down and put it all in perspective.

for me, his 50yrs of public service is enough. his legacy is secure. as Dondero and newsletters have shown, Dr. Paul is clearly not a micromanager. so hey, our Doc ain't perfect, who is.

sad that it seems to many that the lessons of internal personnel management has not been heeded, and unfortunately they're not completely wrong.

the worst part? to think a nobody like Benton, one POS PUNK could drive this much wedge between the liberty movement, and the Anti-NWO patriot movement and all its important players like Tom Woods, et al.

Lew, bless his heart, has been able to put it all into perspective: one of the few who spoke at both PaulFest and the "We are the Future Rally."

Frankly, I cannot wait to have all our people learn to squash this sh*t and learn to get along again.

I hate watching AJ sour on the Pauls... .o(

PS. check out this little gem: Benton's first post-hire interview:

BI: So if you had the chance to address the Ron Paul Universe, how would you address any criticism that you have sold out Ron Paul to take a position with the GOP Establishment?

Benton: First of all, I absolutely love all of Dr. Paul's supporters. I admire every single one of them for the different things that they bring to the table.

My position is a bit different — I believe that everyone should pursue their passions, and be where they can best make a difference. Where I believe I can make a difference is to help bring the voice of the Liberty Movement and the voice of the Tea Party into a governing coalition. Some people want to work outside of the system, some people want to be 100% rigid — I view what I want to do is try to work with people who want to take our ideas seriously. I want to try to get as many of our ideas as I can included in the solution.

honestly, I'm beginning to truly hate this scumbag muthafrakker, even more, after reading this crap:

But Benton is also a controversial figure in the Paul Universe, where the management of the Paul campaign is a topic of endless debate. His decision to take a job deep within the heart of the GOP is likely to raise the ire of some of Paul's most active supporters, confirming long-held suspicions that the Texas Congressman's campaign aides sold him out to the Republican Party Establishment.

But Benton doesn't see it that why. In his first interview since taking the job with McConnell, Benton told Business Insider why he decided to take the job with McConnell, and why he doesn't think he's selling out all.

Below is the lightly-edited transcript of our interview:

BI: Senator McConnell isn't up for re-election for another two years, and he doesn't even have a Democratic opponent yet. Why take this position now? Do you anticipate a primary challenge?

Jesse Benton: No, we're not anticipating a primary challenge. But we expect him to be the biggest target for the national Democrats. It's sort of become a right of passage that the Senate leadership becomes a huge target. We saw it with [former South Dakota Sen.] Tom Daschle, [Senate Majority Leader] Harry Reid, and so on and so forth. We think that Sen. McConnell is going to have a big target on his back, but we're going to be ready. We're going to run a heckuva campaign.

BI: You ran Sen. Rand Paul's campaign in Kentucky in 2010, and Sen. McConnell endorsed his primary opponent. What's changed since then?

Benton: What changed was a friendship that we cultivated, both Rand and Senator McConnell and our teams cultivated in the [2010] general election.

Predictions in due Time...

"Let it not be said that no one cared, that no one objected once it's realized that our liberties and wealth are in jeopardy." - Dr. Ronald Ernest Paul

what's the big deal? these

what's the big deal? these two guys are perfect for each other.

Finally, irrefutable proof that everyone's suspicions were correct. Let this be a lesson to all of us.

“Although it was the middle of winter, I finally realized that, within me, summer was inextinguishable.” — Albert Camus

Jesse BUILDS grassroots movements?

Is this what he's going around saying? HE BUILT THE R3VOLUTION?

Oh man that is rich. Well if this is true he should have no trouble building on again.

So go ahead Jesse, build another grassroots movement. We'll watch.

Definitely explains how

Definitely explains how neocon McConnell ended up with a part in the Ron Paul tribute video at the RNC.

Blessings )o(

Lets hope...

It's part of bentons super secret strategy to gt McConnel to lose.

Brilliant one liner!

Too bad

Looks like the Paul family is starting to have career politicians

If McConnell loses

If McConnell loses re-election who would be the Republican Leader of the Senate? Can McConnell really lose re-election? Is McConnell vulnerable?

All that betrayal

just to work for another useless neocon RINO.

Remember: keep an eye not only on Benton, but anyone aligned with him and his camp. Look out for "Bentonites" in other campaigns. Not only must Benton be refuted, but any campaign having anybody like him and who aided and abetted him should not be supported.

Benton and everybody like him should not have any future in politics.

So I don't care if God showed up to run for president. If Benton was working for his campaign, I still would not support it.

"Benton and everybody like him should not have any future in

That's the nice route. I think part of the problem with politicians is that they feel they can get away with it all.

I mean what's the average person going to do against the power of the government? Protest? Write angry letters?

They do this to people because there are no hard consequences.

vote. the average person simply votes for someone who he feels is different enough to save hiim from whoever other people vote for.

I have read a lot of your posts and I know we communicated

about one year ago. Can i ask why you joined up with the Granger and Danton in attacking me, because it seems to me that you and I are on the same page with a lot of your comments.

I am currently researching Johnson, because in my state i cannot do write-in, but i am alo looking at Goode.

I cannot get on board with these peolple who want to support Romney.

I am in touch with a guy from Florida who is supposed to send me the local article on Jim uprichard, when I get it I will send it. I have searched and searched but did not find any article. But, he says that is how he found out, he was the maintenance man at the campground where Jim was staying.

Dude, if you're going to con someone.. How about getting

on some sort of mental supplement. You're off a bit.

So I'm guessing you're Evan42? lol

I "communicate" with a lot of people on here.. If you're talking privately.. I don't do that.

I'm not "on board" with any of them.

You're Steve Parent.. You know that's why I say things to you.. I've explained that many times. You can pretend all you want to but even your friend ATruePatriot outed you as Steve.

Danton happens to be spot on about you.

So how about listing the hospital that Jim was at like I've asked 5 times. List it here.

If you paid attention to any of the posts jack ass you would

know the hospital, the phone number to it and the room number. YOU ARE A JERK! AN IDIOT and Moron!

I am not Steve Parent, I am not Eric Petroni with Never Quit, they are two different people. I did not start a website called delegatetraining or hermancainforums. You are an inconsiderate, complete ass. People like you are why people are moving away form the liberty movement. While my friend is fighting for his life you insult and act like a complete jerk. I have attempted to talk to you, but you are full of idiocy.

Jim Uprichard is a Nevada National Delegate who was in a horrible accident. You are an inconsiderate, insensitive JOKE!

I have had enough of your accusations of everyone on here. You are completely against politicians, why don't you keep your HATE toward them, not toward a man that almost died just a little over a week ago and someone who is sincerely trying to help him. You have crossed the line, as well as Danton. Are you the same? You, Danton, and theGranger all the same? Whatever, how stupid!

The number to the hospital and the address was posted, you chose to ignore it and run around the dailypaul accusing people of being scam artists, when you may need to look in the mirror. Yeah right rp4pres, he would never agree with your continual postings and insults and accusations. You are a bully, an internet bully. I would love for you to say all this to my face, you would not because you would be too cowardess. What a joke!!!

If you would have paid attention when I gave you this info before you would have seen the hospital. Also, it has been in several posts. http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/jimuprichard/mystory

You are the type of person to kick when someone is down. You should join the RNC. You would be fabulous as a top ranking member.
