Jesse Benton Goes to Work for Mitch McConnell

Politico: Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has hired a loyal aide to Rep. Ron Paul and fellow Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul to run his 2014 reelection bid -- the latest sign of how the wily leader is already preparing to head off any tea party insurgency and Democratic challenge.

McConnell announced Thursday that he's hired Jesse Benton, who led both Ron Paul's 2012 presidential campaign and Rand Paul's 2010 Senate campaign, to run his reelection bid for a sixth term.

"We're committed to running a presidential-level campaign in Kentucky and that starts with a presidential campaign manager," McConnell said. "Jesse is literally the best in the business at building and organizing conservative grassroots movements and I'm thrilled he's chosen to return to Kentucky to lead my campaign."

Since Rand Paul defeated McConnell's hand-picked Senate choice in the 2010 primary, the leader has worked to win over the younger Paul, giving him political advice in that campaign, allowing him to operate independently in the Senate and touring the state with him back home. Such moves — including the latest hire — have helped cool speculation that McConnell could be vulnerable to a tea party primary challenger in 2014.

This only reinforces my assertion that it was step backward for the liberty movement when Rand won.

The rule is never leave a job until you have another one...

already confirmed.

Benton resigns from the C4L on September 11, two days ago. Now this new announcement today. It takes weeks to negotiate and finalize the details of a new job opportunity. How long did it take Benton to workout the details of this one, proving his worth by "GETTING TANGIBLE RESULTS" that McConnell could see! It's called upping your pay-grade before even being hired. Benton is such a warm and fussy guy isn't he?

He resigns on 9-11-12. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Why did he choose that date to resign?

I agree with this 100%.

I'm sorry, but shame on Ron Paul (my hero), for not having the balls to fire this traitor despite him being a son-in-law. The termination could have been with taste, but Ron couldn't bring himself to do it. I hate the Globalists, I know Ron does too, I just wish he wasn't "too" nice. Ron Paul still is one of my heroes. He's not perfect, but I still love and revere him for the great work he did. And maybe he'll run again in 3 years!
I'd say that yes, Ron Paul does own some of this.
To keep this in context, this benton liar was only a husband of his granddaughter, it wasnt like he's a son-in law of 15 years or something. To allow "feelings" for his grandaughter to get in the way of his life's work is probably the biggest mistake Ron's made in a LOOONG time. He should have grabbed benton by the scruff of his neck out behind the woodshed and told him, get lost gracefully, or Ill get you lost publicly. If you think a punk like you will sidetrack my fight for this country, you got ALOT to learn!

As far as benton is concerned, i certianly hope the RPers in Kentucky
will help ensure mcconnell fails. Id vote democrat in this case. This is another battle in the gop war against liberty guys. The insinuation here is that benton controls us and were here cause of him.

Another MAJOR concern of mine....

...is that RAND Paul allowed himself to be deceived, or "handled" by those who placed Benton in such a critical position within his own campaign! Who is the one that gave the order to push David Adams out and bring Benedict in, AFTER the primary battle was handily won in KY?

Does Rand have a blind side like his father? Or is this another example of an unseen power working behind the scenes to control the most latent political force in American politics today?

Anonymous1, what do you think about Rand's judgment?

Im not sure

I really like Rand.
Rand will give in in the smaller battles to try and win the war. I wonder if he'll end up corrupted before the war is won though.

I think the Paul family is a family I'd want living right next to me, no doubt. I think they are the only TRUE Christian political family in the US and I think it comes natural to them to only see the good side of people naturally.
This is an achilles heel in politics.

I'd also wager that benton is divorced within the next 4-6 years. He, like Newt will get rid of the old and in with the new.

I don't think Rand was

I don't think Rand was deceived at all. He has been following, albeit less crudely, the Benton handbook from day 1.

Adam Kokesh

Was right about Benton being a Con-Artist Nigerian Prince Scammer

I thought I was the only one who noticed, but Adam was the 1st

public commentator who also noticed, well at least the 1st public commentator I watched who made the same comment.

can't find Kokesh's commentary video now, but here's the original YT upload he was referencing:

around 1:10 mark, it shows Benton is clearly aware of just how much he is despised by the world; he's clearly wearing something that even Dr. Paul as the most 'dangerous' POTUS candidate since JFK did not wear: rifle-round rated ceramic bullet resistant plate body armor.

it's the video where the pissed off Maine RNC delegation is being told by Benton, basically passive aggressively chided: 'don't be a bunch of biotches!'

you can clearly see the 'trapezoidal' top-half silhouette common to current body armor designs.

I do believe he was only wearing a plate on the rear side; perhaps was wearing a pistol-ammo rated soft-body armor with plate carrier pouches.

how pathetically evil do you have to be, when the POTUS candidate whom you ran the campaign for never 'needed' a body armor, but you do?

Benton is one pathetic POS!!!

That Snake!!!

That bulletproof vest wearing scumball can go to hell. All our money that we gave the campaign was so he could further his personal career. He is a reptile of the lowest order. Big thanks to Valori for getting knocked up by a loser like that.

Reminds me of the Victoria's Secret catalogs.

Where they hire gorgeously beautiful models to wear the lingerie. Frankly these beauties could wear ANYTHING and it would look good.

Then two-ton Bertha comes along and buys the same product and wonders why she looks like a cow wearing it. Its because she IS a cow.

Ron Paul's revolutionary ideas and personality would look good using the services of ANY campaign manager.

Mitch McConnell is going to end up looking like a cow wearing lingerie.

next time around

... I demand a full-term commitment from any liberty candidates to stay in the fight until the very end, to fight as hard as humanly possible the ENTIRE RACE, and to call out fraud, deception, and lies rather than meekly accepting these crimes like a docile little baby lamb. I want a signed statement of commitment, and I want a declaration of ALL memberships in secret societies, clubs, groups, organizations, and ALL affiliations. I will never again vote for ANY candidate with a D or an R next to their names.... ever.

Thank you, jesse!

I personally thought Mitch was out of touch when he voted for the "bank bailout" of 2008 while holding Nancy Pelosi's hand.

But I understand politics is a messy business and somebody has to shake the devil's hand. I am glad that someone is Jesse Benton. All is not lost--there is a plan here. Rand is the future. Though not his father--as Lew Rockwell has said "he is still the best man in the Senate".

You are a fool or a shill.

Ok, but.

A blog from Ron Paul would be more convincing. But airing dirty laundry is not his thing.

Perhaps we should take the good doctor's advice and make our fight about ideas and not personalities. If we don't, we will be just like Rush Limbaugh. He has successfully lulled the GOP fast asleep assassinating people's character with no ideas of his own. Accept maybe--America good and let's bomb those brown people.

Anyone can be an arm chair critic.

I'm just going to throw this out there:

We've been diverted into a box canyon -- led like sheep by false shepherds to waste time and resources in a futile peaceful process that's been sabotaged from the start.

Think about it, and think about the success of the peaceful process in relation to the American Revolution, Stalin's purges, and the Holocaust.

I've been thinking

this lately also Jake. The time will come soon for many of us to put up or shut up and move on with our lives.

well well well ....

What do all you Benton defenders have to say NOW ?

Don't Give me Liberty, I'll get up and get it myself!

I really don't want to think right now. lol

I am down.

My thoughts are more on why I've busted my butt for five years doing activism for free.

I am seriously deciding to remove from activism and entertain as a Liberty musician. Less stress, more respect, money in the pocket instead of being in the hole. I moved from a gift to working the party. A vibe is around me about letting it go.

Yep, plugging myself.

What movement?

Why do people even bother running at all? It's already been proven that the GOP doesn't listen to the public. They pick their preferred candidate. End of Story. They even went as far as to say that their nominee has the right to strike down any delegate they don't like.

The only way to reform the republican party is to get these guys out systematically. We've got to get people voted in as PC's and work their way up. Even if the people vote for other candidates, at least it can be assured that the people on the ground will be honest in reporting their county's and state's votes.

I debated the campaign

I debated the campaign bashers for a time but its clear they were right about Benton!

Ventura 2012

it was pretty obvious it was

it was pretty obvious it was the weakest political campaign of all time, all he did was visit 20 or 30 colleges, what is that like .0001% of the colleges in the nation? most people that were not already ron paul supporters could not even understand or follow what he was saying in the debates or whenever we post a youtube video. ron paul is awesome and i personally would love him to be potus but his campaign was clear trash from the beginning and the candidate himself was not presidential material to the majority of americans. they want a leader who they think looks good and speaks well. all they care about

I guess you werent around in

I guess you werent around in 2008? This was 100x better than that one and RP would be president if it wasnt for the media and probably some vote fraud too.

Now we see...

Now we see where Jesse's sympathies really lie, with opportunism.

A political chameleon who changes his coloration to suit his latest master.

Jesse was never a liberty minded ideologue, he was just an opportunist that leeched off of Dr. Paul and our cause.

In short, he is a parasite.

We very well may be looking at Jesse's "reward for a job well done", his thirty pieces of silver, payed in full by the very people we are fighting against.

Am I the only one here that sees this as a good sign?

Is there anyone else on here that thinks maybe McConnell is afraid of losing his seat and has taken the "if you can't beat them (RP supporters), join them" attitude?

We shouldn't underestimate the impact Ron Paul's campaign & his supporters have had on the Republican Party.

Take it from an old Kentucky

Take it from an old Kentucky boy. McConnell's a snake, and no friend of liberty.

No, you're not the only one. DP is infested with Romneybots

I think Romneycare and his paid operatives are terrified of Ron Paul, to this day. I've been on the DP for almost 5 years now (this is my 2nd account) and I've never seen this level of trollery and shilling before.

There are only 2 reasons why an establishment lifer like McConnell would hire someone like Benton:

1. Because Benton is so effective that McConnell wants to keep Benton from working for his eventual opponent
2. Because McConnell knows he can't win without making nice with the Tea Party and Liberty voters in the GOP
