Some presidential electors defecting to RP

Now, this could be a major turn of events if more electors would choose not to nominate Romney.

At least three Republican electors say they may not support their party's presidential ticket when the Electoral College meets in December to formally elect the new president, escalating tensions within the GOP and adding a fresh layer of intrigue to the final weeks of the White House race.

The electors – all are supporters of former GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul – told The Associated Press they are exploring options should Mitt Romney win their states. They expressed frustration at how Republican leaders have worked to suppress Paul's conservative movement and his legion of loyal supporters.

"They've never given Ron Paul a fair shot, and I'm disgusted with that. I'd like to show them how disgusted I am," said Melinda Wadsley, an Iowa mother of three who was selected a Republican elector earlier this year. She said she believes Paul is the better choice and noted that the Electoral College was founded with the idea that electors wouldn't just mimic the popular vote.

Well, now Rance has read it.

Lol. Guess they'll change the rules so they can dump those electors now, or have a bunch of cops barricade them in their houses on election day, or plant crack cut with yellow-cake uranium on them, or...

Read this Rinse...you can

Read this Rinse...you can cheat all you want but in the end it is the will of the people that will win.

Wouldn't Obama have to sign off...

on any change to the Electoral College? I strongly doubt he'd help out Willard in any way. Willard is screwed, and it's going to be hilarious when it finally dawns on him.

I don't play, I commission the league.

Where did you get that idea?

The Electors are appointed in a manner chosen by the legislature of each State.

All States use popular elections held at the same time as Congressional elections to choose their Electors.

Two do it by Congressional district. The rest, do it as state-wide winner take all.

Some states require that there be one Elector from each Congressional district and two at-large, even though they are chosen and voted for as a "slate." Some states do not have this requirement.

Some states let the parties pick their electors, some, the candidates, and still others, use a state-run election to choose them before November.

Some may even choose their electors sooner than November, but use the "preference straw poll" vote in November to then direct those electors who to vote for.

In all of this, Obama, either as the sitting president, or as an opponent, has absolutely NOTHING to do with who the Electors end up being for a particular state.

That is entirely within the purview of that State's legislature.

If Pontius Pilate and the Pharisees could agree on anything...

It's that the good guy has GOT TO GO.

Yet both of them clearly would like all the power to themselves.

After spending as much money as he has on attacking Willard, Obama just won't turn around and help him. What does he gain from helping risk the remote possibility of Willard beating him?

I don't play, I commission the league.

Elector info

Check out this link:

http://www.thegreenpapers.com/G12/EC-Appointed.phtml

It doesn't give the electors' names but other important info. It looks like 24 states do not have bound electors.

ronpaul1fan

Thanks for the link.

I need names/addresses. If anybody is savvy enough to get that I will volunteer to head the rest of the project.

We need that list.

That list has to be kept TOP SECRET.

Period.

Google "2012 presidential electors"

It will show links to some of the individual states' lists, but try this one first - it's for Georgia.

Keep IT Up

And they thought we were just going to walk off into the sunset or lay down and die?
The establishment is getting the shakeup they have been deserving for decades. The line was drawn in 2008.
The revolution is alive and well.
VIVA the REVOLUTION!

RAND PAUL or NOT AT ALL

I'll second that!

Viva la Revolution!

Ok, so if we can get a list of electors

Can we mobilize an effort to educate at least 271 of them on how this government is supposed to work?

I'm thinking that if given time, I could wake up virtually anyone as long as they are not an actual card-carrying member of the .001%. Certainly, there are many others who could do this too.

I'm in.

I'm happy to email, call, whatever.
Given that between Georgia, Kansas, and Montana there are 27 Libertarian electoral, let alone Liberty Republicans maybe ..

Really, we don't even need 270 .. 100 will keep Obama and Romney from getting the 270 they need, and put it into the House.

We can pressure the house as well.

The House will elect Romney.

The vote is by State - each State gets one vote.

At best, Dems control maybe 4 or 5 state delegations. There are a few more too close to call, and about 35-40 are solidly GOP. Romney would get at least a 3/4 majority of states, more than enough to win in the House.

The Senate is not so clear on their pick for VP.

If the Dems retain control, we could have a GOP President and Dem VP.

Get that list and I am in. PM me if you are serious about this.

I sent the link via email to Ben Swann.

It would be great if he could address this since national media has been picking up on his RealityChecks.

Bump!
