Tom Woods clears the air on Jesse Benton

Tom Woods: Ron Paul campaign chairman Jesse Benton is going to head up the campaign of Mitch McConnell. Gee, now why did those incorrigible naysayers have so many unkind words for him?

People who said Benton was positioning himself all along for bigger things in the GOP were scoffed at. Why, Jesse has a secret plan to get Ron Paul the nomination at the last minute!

Well, now we know the real secret plan.

Ask yourself this: how much money would you have to be paid to work for an enemy of the things you’re supposed to stand for? Maybe now people will understand why Jesse would fly into a tirade after some of Ron’s most heroic moments, when the rest of us were cheering.

I could go through a lengthy catalogue of problems with Benton. The grassroots folks already know a lot of them, so there’s probably no need. What’s done is done.

Not that the world revolves around me, but just a word about how I was treated.

working for McConnell kinda says it all

I'll be impressed if he can bring McConnell into the true liberty fold..

Government is supposed to protect our freedom, our property, our privacy, not invade it. Ron Paul 2007

Dear Mr. Tom Woods and RON PAUL R[3]VOLUTION:

Dear Mr. Tom Woods and RON PAUL R[3]VOLUTION:

I have worked since 2007 on behalf of Ron Paul - ON MY OWN.

I got a bad "vibe" about the "Official Campaign" very early on - around 2008 - just talking to them on the phone. I offered to help and ALL THEY WANTED WAS MONEY.

I asked them to send me materials (2008) to distribute and all I got was an envelope with a couple of stickers and a Donations Form.

Through Eric (Super Brochure Project) and Dr. K Research, if I needed materials, I would get A BOX DELIVERED - FREE OF CHARGE.

"I am out of brochures". Response: We will send you another box right away. Thank you for all your help. Need more stickers? "No, I still have about 100 from what you sent me, Dr. K."

Geez---you got more than I did......I must uv called

headquarters five times and never got squat. Then I must uv called California Liberty Caucus pres 5 more times; never got a call back.

Start your own caucus....works every time.

NO amount of deodorizer would "clear the air of Jesse Benton."

Oh, you said, "...clear the air ON Jesse Benton." Never mind.

Can we now revisit the

Can we now revisit the Paulfestival and what Jesse Benton did to it (which can be seen on the Peter Schiff video where he reads the text out loud to Deborah Robinet -who ran Paulfesival). Jesse sabotaged it. I know this first hand.

Paulfestival is still out $27,000 for the fairgrounds payment.

Ron Paul and Mrs. Paul called Deborah Robinet and Bryan Siemon numerous times before the event asking what they could do and giving praise to the fact that it was being done. YET every time they hung up the phone nothing they said they would do ever happened --including speaking at the event!

Can you all connect the dots now?

Wow. Dots Connected. Not Surprised In The Least.

Wow. Dots Connected. Not Surprised In The Least.

Thank you for your "Insider" information.

Jesse Benton and his crowd are a NATIONAL DISGRACE.

The PaulFestival looked like a great event.

I congratulate you, Gigi. Sorry I couldn't be there in person.

Is Mitch McConnel a cosponsor of Audit the Fed?

In the Senate? If not, why not? How about we send him some of that good old fashioned RP love?

The answer is 'Not' of course.

Not McConnell. Even these Senators below are co-sponsors. Will they actually vote for this bill is the question?:

Sen McCain, John [AZ] - 10/31/2011
Sen Grassley, Chuck [IA] - 10/31/2011
Sen Graham, Lindsey [SC] - 7/17/2012
Sen Brown, Scott P. [MA] - 9/19/2012
Sen Hatch, Orrin G. [UT] - 5/24/2011
Sen Rubio, Marco [FL] - 10/6/2011

we should mail him

a bunch of fake plastic handcuffs haha

Well I feel better

Knowing that my initial pessimism in mar 11 was absolutely warranted. Fuck this clown, AND screw all these other clowns who espouse this Bentonite mentality that 'S'ing off the GOP leadership is the only way to succeed. Stupid Whigs...

NO MORE LIES. Ron Paul 2012.

I'm glad Tom got the chance

I'm glad Tom got the chance to say this.

Mitch McConnell has sold out

Mitch McConnell has sold out to the libertarians! You're not allowed to hire people from Ron Paul's family if you are in the NWO.

Thomas Jefferson 1796, 1800, 1804; James Madison 1808, 1812; Ron Paul 1988, 2008, 2012; Rand Paul 2016.

Tom Woods has sold out. What

Tom Woods has sold out. What a sore loser.

Thomas Jefferson 1796, 1800, 1804; James Madison 1808, 1812; Ron Paul 1988, 2008, 2012; Rand Paul 2016.

Wow, did you ever learn the

Wow, did you ever learn the wrong lesson...

Jesse Benton is a traitor, just like Rand.

I don't play, I commission the league.

Debbie's picture

Did you ever look at any of the bills Rand is sponsoring?

They are to protect or restore your civil rights.

It is very

disappointing that Ron Paul would let Benton, Tate and Olson ruin his campaign, family or not. All heroes have feet of clay. Apparently, as smart as Dr Paul is, he has blind spots to the point that he allows family and friends to use him and his true supporters to further their own ends. Leaves a bad taste in the mouth, it has tainted his legacy with questions about his judgement.I have ZERO misgivings about Tom Woods, he's a good principled man....unlike the turd Benton. Too bad Dr Paul didn't judge the fruit and surround himself with less conniving family and more true libertarians.

Let's all support who ever is running against McConnell.

It's a great idea.

And thank you so much Tom Woods for clearing the air on this
pathetic slimewad Benton.

And Fuxk you too, "Rand Who?"!!!!!

Was Ron Paul too nice?

Leading an effective campaign is something of a test of a presidential candidate's leadership skills. If he won't fire an ineffective campaign manager, what does that say about his ability to fire an ineffective cabinet head or advisor, something that is crucial to being an effective president.

There is no doubt that Ron Paul has all (or mostly) of the right ideas. But would he be an effective executive?

What do you think of Ron Paul as Gary Johnson's Secretary of State? Or Defense?

"Know what you know, know what you don't know, and understand and appreciate the distinction."

I wonder if Woods would ever run for office?

Woods is honestly one of my favorite human beings alive!! The man is golden...great soul!

You beat me to it. Noone I am

You beat me to it.

Noone I am aware of on "our" side, is better speaker, a better debater, and an all around more unassailable guy than Tom Woods. I had no idea he was a former "Mainstream GOP'er." Which, as he says, makes him even more likely to be listened to by the ever growing share of GOP voters who are feeling uneasy, but are still kept in the fold out of fear of the "communists" in the DNC, and the "anarchists" on our side.

Debating pretty much any issue I can think of, I cannot think of any politician, talk show host nor journalist who wouldn't be ran circles around and treated like a ping-pong ball by Woods.

With Napolitano backing him up on technical constitutional legal issues, I cannot think of a better dream team for constitutionally minded voters.

Corollary: Ron needs to make it clear quickly if he'll be running in 2016. If he is not, someone needs to take his place. GJ seems to have fizzled out. Rand doesn't seem to inspire trust the way his father did. Ventura is a wrestler, with questionable liberty credentials. Kokesh is too young. Etc., etc. But Woods/Napolitano; talk about dynamite!

Woods would be great

The one thing that we'd have to do in terms of campaigning, is to deal with arguments that Woods has no political experience. We'd need to emphasize his credentials as an economist and we'd need a strong running mate (like Napolitano).

No political experience??

That would be a huge plus.

It's not just Benton.

Yes, Tom Woods, it truly is amazing the conversation that pops-up over drinks. While in Tampa, I heard very disturbing things from someone I now consider a dear friend and who is a true soul of liberty (also someone whose anonymity I will respect)....Things to the tune of a very big rally being cancelled by the campaign in a very important first in the nation state, because simply, quote: "it was getting too big..." And that's not even the tip of the iceberg.

Now, it's not all simply just conspiricy corruption, though that self-serving garbage was certainly a player (and not just in Benton's case). Flat out ignorance was just as large a piece of the puzzle we've all been trying to put together now after-the-fact.

Let's just say, in my book, Saber Communications and the organizations falling under their umbrella can pound sand; John Tate is just as bad as Benton, though not for exactly the same reasons; I will never again support C4L; YAL is still an innocently good organization (for now); and Ron Paul will continue to have my admiration for being the most inspiring political figure I have ever known or may ever.

But, we still have a lot of work to do, and I like Tom Woods will not be silent nor toe the line when sometimes you just need to say what's on your mind.

I've adapted the motton on the Chris Duane Coin ...

Listen to all, Follow none.

I have to say...

That it has been the people like Tom Woods that have managed to keep the liberty movement alive and well. Jesse Benton caused a LOT of trouble from within the campaign, and in my opinion should have NEVER held the position he was given. It is Tom Woods or even Doug Wead that should have been given that position from the start.
Jesse most certainly did NOTHING to deserve the amount of money he squandered from our dedicated donations. In fact I would have been glad to donate to the max if it were not for the feeling that my money somehow was not going where it should have been going.
Jesse Benton took advantage of Dr. Paul and all of the rest of us, and managed to turn the campaign into something other than the grassroots kind of campaign we had in 2008. Just imagine what we could have accomplished this time if that feeling would have been prevalent this campaign. Sure we had the brushfires burning for the 2012 campaign...but nothing like we had in 2008. The momentum would have been tremendous. But every time we would get a leg up and the sparks started to fly, we would witness infighting and there would be some kind of spat between two of our best organizers. Instigated?
And every time the grassroots would try to take matters into our own hands and MAKE something happen, it would get shot down and we would be called extremist and/or the fringe element or some such thing by the very people we were doing our best to help with the campaign. There was no real help for us when it came to working together no matter if it involved the Calls For Paul or the Super Brochure effort. And Gary Franchi (bless his heart) opted to doing his best to cover the debates and stay out of the way, and more or less fell off the radar for a while. Can't say I blame him there.
We had dedicated people that could have done a far better job than Benton at a fraction of the cost because we had people that believed in the message and wanted to help spread it...unlike Benton who only believes in the (not so mighty) fiat dollar, and will chase it no matter where it may lead.
Sad to say, he may have single handedly destroyed the campaign and squelched any real chance for Ron to win...no matter the strategy. Because it was always Jesse Benton saying the wrong things at the wrong times, and I would not doubt for a minute that he was somehow involved with Rand's decision to do what he did when he did it as well. WARNING to Rand...STAY AWAY FROM BENTON in the future.
THERE. I feel better now.
Sorry Dr. Paul. But I know you were just trying to do what you felt was best. And as mother always said...you can lock out a thief, but you can't lock out a liar.

Yeah it's too bad...

I hear Gary has been banned here... Did you see the piece on RTR.org about it and the censorship of Gigi Bowman and those behind Paul Festival?
