Jim Rogers says we should all move to Asia.

The U.S. is toast. Will never get out of the huge debt hole. Do you agree with him?

Jim Rogers has been singing

Jim Rogers has been singing the same song for years. TV programs love to get him on the air for his consistent, negative outlook. Honestly, if the US collapses, so does China. The US "owns" China because of the size of the debt.

Actually, its China who owns

Actually, its China who owns the US, not the other way around. We owe them. They don't owe us. They have been given the right of eminent domain here because of the amount of money we owe them. If the US collapses, they will just call in the debt and take the land promised them as collateral.

"He has been singing the same song for years"

And he has been correct for years. Those of us who listened to hin prior to 2008 and acted on his recomendations about commodity investing have done QUITE well. I choose to stay in the US for personal reasons but from a purely economical standpoint moving to China makes the most sence. Jim Rodgers is a brilliant man in my opinion.

There is no way in hell you'd

There is no way in hell you'd convince me to move to China under their current government.

What about Singapore where

What about Singapore where Jim Rogers lives. Everyone I know who has been there tells me it's awesome.

I guess it's "awesome" if you

I guess it's "awesome" if you like living in a real-life version of Disneyland, where you can be hauled off to 'Disney Jail' for the most minor of offenses.

Korea (South) is supposed to

Korea (South) is supposed to be nice. You would be surprised how much Americanized it is, since the military has been there for over 50 years.

Seems the South Koreans also

Seems the South Koreans also hate our occupying army though. Just ask "Psy".

Rogers is speaking to big investors NOT you an' me!

Rogers is speaking to big investors to flee with their cash, NOT to you an' me! If he can afford a gated palace community on Palm Island in Dubai, that's good for him.

The rest of us get the backwaters of Benares and Bangalore, which is about as close to hygenic hell as one can imagine~!

"Everyone Should Own A Little. Can They ? Will They ?"

I have already stated my position on this but I have another remark.

To whomever still in tedious doubt, watch the video linked from :

http://www.dailypaul.com/261454/the-great-silver-market-myth...

Then ask yourself :

1. which other country was ever created from a foundational text as appealing as the Bill of Rights, for those who can read into History ?

2. in which other country The People still has the freedom to be aware if they choose so, and to stack on silver and/or gold ?

3. where is the vast majority of Youtube posters stacking on those PMs from, sharing and debating knowledge thereof ?

4. how do the answers to the same questions #1 to #3 for China and India compare, for the proportion of their people above the poverty line ?

None of these are easy to answer with strong accuracy but the few clues I got from my own awareness were enough for my choice.

YMMV.

Too bad.

I will stay and fight. Just because our political class has sold us out to our corporate class doesn't mean we should turn our backs on our country.

Plus, with world government on the way, you won't be as free elsewhere as you may think.

What would the Founders do?

Oh please, it would be

Oh please, it would be impossible to control the whole world. The U.S. can't even conquer Afganistan.

Well, not to defend the

Well, not to defend the elites or anything, but no invader in history has been able to conquer Afghanistan for long.

If you do not like the

If you do not like the government in your business china is the last place to go.

True enough. If you think

True enough. If you think corruption is bad here, I got news for you.

They will liberalize

They will liberalize everything just like any country does when it becomes wealthy. North Korea is now.

Get caught with a bag of pot

Get caught with a bag of pot in singapore and let me know how that works out for ya! Yea the future huh jim? Stay there.

How about this:

What great Republic? We are now an Empire. What constitution? We now live under NDAA and the Patriat Act. Your Constitutional rights have been completely stripped.

I choose to stay and fight but I do not live with the illusion that this country is either a great Republic nor do I believe I have any Constitutional protection. If you do you are living in denial.

I'll keep defending the truth and sustaining my family here, in the USA, I won't let die.

Mr Thrive and Survive made a point I trust re: what's going on in Asia, too :

As bad as the situation is here for decades, let us not forget that America had the longest taste of Liberty and prosperity in man History.

I know all too well the statism of Europe to ignore that the craving for Liberty over there will not get anywhere close any time soon to the one of my fellow Americans realizing they are losing it after that taste of it.

Why would I even bother being an immigrant otherwise ? I know We The People can have this Phoenix be born again out of the ashes, eventually.

The fight is here and now and for tomorrow. For Liberty be restored the day after tomorrow.

I know the road will be tough, but the path had already been drawn. I have hard times to believe Asia ever had this luck so far, though I sure pray for their good people they will get there some day, too.

Peace.

A possibe idea

Yet most people are not multi-millionaires.

I have a sneaking suspicion that people from North America would not be that warmly received if they are not loaded imo.

I could be wrong but perhaps someone with some experiences might have other opinions.

I have traveled to Hefei,

I have traveled to Hefei, China 3 times because I married a Chinese from there. I might have seen one other foreigner in that city of 3-6 million (small for China). For my interests I enjoyed myself. The restaurants were about half as expensive as America and the technology noticeably improved from even 3 years ago on my first visit. They are more advanced than America in many ways. High speed rails, air conditioning was quieter and quicker, water boilers were faster, buildings newer, everyone has i-phones and knock off brands. Infrastructure in general was better. Also, I played basketball with people at the college. In America I couldn't find people to play so I just shoot by myself, but I had a lot of fun in China. I speak only a bare minimum and I have only studied about a year of Mandarin so I have a ways to go before I know the language but since my wife speaks as her native language I am fine. So we are opening an account in China and I am trying to develop ideas for finding a calling over there. I am not ready to move over there yet, but Asia has this optimistic feel about it whereas when I come back to America everything looks old, people seem defeated, and the energy isn't there. I just couldn't help but wonder how China has done so well. Thousands of years of relative stability and the central planning they do is effective because the people know how to deal with the bureaucracies and the government seems to be quite effective at planning as opposed to our system. Interesting to see. Of course there were not enough taxis over there and it was really annoying because the government for some reason wouldn't allow more taxis, but the last time I can back that problem was solved. The people work hard over there and are content working under what Americans would consider bad conditions. We would whine about it but they seem thankful and smiling just to have a job.

Stopped reading after this

Stopped reading after this sentence: "Thousands of years of relative stability and the central planning they do is effective because the people know how to deal with the bureaucracies and the government seems to be quite effective at planning as opposed to our system."

Since when in the hell does China have a reputation for stability? You gotta read up on Chinese history. Civil Wars and foreign occupants and controllers are the hallmark of Chinese history.

Effective central planning? Please, stop. Progress in China has come IN SPITE OF central planning, not because of it

Of the three times I've been

Of the three times I've been to China (in many different cities) the last time I was there was the best. Their restaurants are finally approaching Western standards of food quality in their large cities. If you can't enjoy the food when you travel, the whole thing becomes a real effort.

Having said that, there is just no way I could live there with their government in place.

As someone who has moved to

As someone who has moved to Asia already, I should probably comment.

It's not for everyone. Coming here as an employee is not a good idea unless you would be senior management or above. If you don't have top shelf skills and a strong work ethic, don't even think about it. Most places work 6 days a week and respected managers work 7 most of the time. You also need to be part of a group that knows what it's doing, or have enough money to hire good people who do. If a white guy goes to less developed parts of Asia on his own, he is going to run into scams and worse.

There is massive opportunity here. You can make a small fortune by just translating decade old American practices. National companies can be built in a decade. Millions can be made, but living conditions are not what they are in the US and Europe. You need to be adaptable and able to, if not ignore, at least look past some really scummy things.

If you do it, my advice is to more or less live at the office until you retire early.
