Jim Rogers says we should all move to Asia.

The U.S. is toast. Will never get out of the huge debt hole. Do you agree with him?

Bitcoin. Currently you can

Bitcoin.

Currently you can take money out of the US. Just not in huge amounts in one swoop. As the legal amounts become smaller and smaller, and yuo start needing justifications (like, my daddy lobbied for politician this-or-that), It's much better to have your money, and to the extent possible transact, in Bitcoin.

You can't?

You can't?

If the debt bubble pops,

Americans won't be safe anywhere. The whole world will suffer, and who will they blame? The Yanks. I rather stay in the country my ancestors took part in building, then just leave it to the wolves. Might be tough, but we Americans are resilient (or at least we used to be.)

Actually Asia is supposed to

Actually Asia is supposed to have the least effects. If you listened to what Jim is saying, the Asian nations are the creditor nations, so they will be the first ones to reject the U.S. dollar, so they will probably not be hit that badly at all. They are going to be the booming economies of the future. The U.S. is done, like it or not.

They might have economic freedom

but that's about it. Other than that, they are not too "free."

If you want "free", move to

If you want "free", move to Somalia. Or Afghanistan. Most people are willing to give up a bit of freedom, in return for some safety and prosperity. OTOH, if you can organize to move with enough like minded, competent and decently equipped people, both the above may be good destinations. In most other locales, there will be local "elites" who have set up laws, rules and customs favoring themselves.

As time goes on, one can hope more people will wake up the way the Somalis did, and do to their government what they did to Barre and Co. (some permutation of dragging them behind pickup trucks for kicks), but for now, it seems most people are still gullible enough to believe their government is in some ways useful; for something other than target practice.

Maybe not now, but most

Maybe not now, but most likely in the future, much more than the U.S. will be.

Yeah but you may be missing

Yeah but you may be missing out on all what else is out there!

Some people have mentioned,

Some people have mentioned, Japan, Korea, etc. He lives in Singapore, which has a higher economic freedom index than the U.S. He's wealthy, so if you're not a business guy, it may not be for you.

I think you are missing the

I think you are missing the point. You go there to become wealthy.

Singapore does rock.

Best airport in the world. Downside is if you chew gum you get thrown in jail.

Obedience to God is resistance to tyrants.

Yeah, Singapore is awesome.

Yeah, Singapore is awesome. They have some arbitrary cultural rules, but you can live a good life there. Great tax system and something like 12% of the population are millionaires.

Airports all over Asia are amazing. New. Clean. Efficient. My favorite juxtaposition is the decaying dungeon of the Emirates terminal at JFK (4?, 5?) and the glass high street in Dubia.

So I guess moving to Japan would be a good idea.

And die early from all the crap spewing from Fukushima

All their fish and cattle are contaminated. Place won't be "safe" to live for a couple of generations. Maybe if I have great grandchildren, they might be able to live there.

Korea, China, Vietnam then?

Korea, China, Vietnam then? All the radiation has blown over to the West Cost lol.

Wonder what the Asians will

Wonder what the Asians will think of this?
