I think we have just found out who our candidate should be in 2016!

His name is Tom Woods! Not Rand or anyone else would make a better option. We need to encourage Tom to run. Other than Ron Paul, I can not think of a better statesman for the cause. He understands history, economics, and how to handle speaking to crowds and in debates. He is honest, humble, and kind. I can appreciate Tom on the same level as Ron Paul. If he were to decide to run, we could get organized early to help the cause. I would go to bat for him. Not one other person in this movement not named Ron would have as much support. Tom Woods 2016!

My picks may not be popular but....

1. Judge Nap is respected around all Libertarian circles and is well known in Republican establishment circles, and has the facial recognition for the conservative masses. HAS to be number 1 choice.

2. Rand Paul with the caveat that in the next four years he can balance Republicanism with Libertarianism without compromising his principles. If he sells out to the Neo-Cons or gets too buddy-buddy with them, he would not be accepted anyhow. So, it's a big IF.

3. Tom Coburn. Personally I just really like the guy.

Jessie Ventura is great, IMO running that conspiracy show really weakens him as a general election candidate. Jessie also has a tendency to shoot his mouth off, which is entertaining in wrestling or on TV, but not so much in an election or primary.

I like all these guys, as well

Prefer Napolitano on the Supreme Court, he could be a real standard bearer there. (I agree on your reasons for choosing him, however)

Rand, if he continues to prove himself in the Senate as a Liberty lover, would be a decent choice hopefully he can convert some RNC fence sitters..

Tom Coburn for the most part has proved himself as a liberty lover, in a state that is not friendly to the third party option. (even for President)

But that man should play the tyrant over God, and find Him a better man than himself, is astonishing drama indeed!~~D. Sayers

It would be great

Yet I am not sure that we should have somebody as smart as Thomas E Woods rotting in the capital.

My Picks for 2016 assumeing we are still alive

Amash,Judge Napalitano,Woods and Ventura in that order

Too many negatives...

Thank you for the link, enjoyed watching Tom and understanding why he would not run

Tom will not run.

Tom is an Anarco-capitalist.

Why is that the reason?

Why is that the reason?

He is an anarchist. I don't

He is an anarchist. I don't think an anarchist would pursue becoming a ruler. Maybe I'm wrong.

where does he qualify himself as an anarchist?

He wrote a book about state nullification. He also gives lectures on the constitution. Doesn't make sense.

Anarcho capitalists are anarchists. But here is a video of him declaring himself an anarchist.

Basically doesn't blieve in government, not even

a small government as prescribed by the constitution.

Well, I guess he can not be

Well, I guess he can not be involved in government while some Enemy of Liberty runs the show in the White House.

I do not understand this political non involvement stance.

But I don't think Tom Woods is

an anarcho-capitalist. Doesn't he give lectures about the constitution and has a book about state nullification?

I think the person above is wrong about Tom Woods being an anarcho-capitalist.

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom — go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, an

Tom, along with the likes of

Tom, along with the likes of Lew Rockwell, Walter Block, Tom DiLorenzo and Jeffery Tucker, are all Rothbardian anarcho-capitalists.

Here is a video of two people (one of which is Tom) talking about being anarchists.

Well I'll be damned

I knew about Rockwell but Woods always gave me the impression he was a minarchist/constitutionalist. You know what they say about the leap between being a minarchist and an anarcho-capitalist: about 6 months.

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom — go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, an

haha, so true.

haha, so true.

I have no idea what he

I have no idea what he believes. I was just asking why.

I love Tom...but he doesn't

I love Tom...but he doesn't have enough political experience to be taken serious as a Presidential candidate by the general public. Now, a Judge Nap/Tom Woods ticket would be beautiful!

Neither did Rand, except

Neither did Rand, except through his father. Neither did Obombya. However, Woods would be good running for a congressional seat. I don't think he would want to do it. He seems to like scholarly pursuits.

Isn't that hard to

say after we got stuck with the community organizer?

Did Ron Paul have political

Did Ron Paul have political experience before he ran for congress?

i'm all for a congressional

i'm all for a congressional or senate run by Tom Woods. I just thought this thread was hinting at a Presidential run. Tom just doesn't have enough political experience to be president. He's never held any kind of office. I know he'd be great at the job...just the general public wouldn't go for it.

Good points...well taken on

Good points...well taken on my account. Thanks!

Yes he would be a good choice but we would have to

get him a bus and start going all over Iowa, New Hampshire, etc

This would be the time

to turn our energy to propelling the movement for the next election!
