Ron Paul's WisdomSubmitted by jschackai on Thu, 09/13/2012 - 23:50
Ron Paul, like George Washington, never set out to be a politician. In fact, he still isn't, and he never was. He's a statesman. An idealist. A prophet. A sage.
An idealist, however, cannot make the necessary political compromises required to become the President. He can, on the other hand, stand his ground, lead by example, and light the way for others. He can, by a lifetime of dedication, gently point a lost and disillusioned people back to Liberty.
Rand Paul, on the other hand, doesn't need to be a philosopher. What Rand Paul needs to be is the President. But in order to become that, as we've so painfully learned over the past several years, first he has to become a really good politician. He has to build bridges. He has to make compromises. He has to form alliances. He has to do all of the things that Ron Paul simply could not do.
Ron Paul doesn't want to be president. He doesn't want to stage a coup d'état within the GOP. He doesn't attack his enemies, and he doesn't wish for his enemies to be attacked in his name. He also doesn't wish for his son or his grandson-in-law to be attacked in his name.
Get a hold of yourselves, people. This was never about Ron Paul. It's not about Rand or Jesse either. It's not even about "us." It's about this country. It's about our national values. It's about the Constitution. It's about freedom and peace and prosperity and sound money and personal responsibility.
Ultimately it's about working together, trusting one another, and being trustworthy. It's about integrity. It's about love and hope and faith and charity. It's about honesty and justice, but it's not about anger or spite.
It's not about who's to blame for your own childish disappointment.
Look around you. The people are waking up. Mitch McConnell is waking up. Mitt Romney is waking up. Does that mean they are going to do exactly what Ron would do, or exactly what you would do? Of course not. Does it mean that our movement will be considered before decisions are made? That depends on us.
This movement is only a movement if it stays together and if it stays in motion. If it comes to a standstill, or drifts too far off course, then we fail, and everyone goes right on ignoring us. And then all our doomsday predictions come true. Is that what you want? Do you think this is a game?
Rand needs our support. Jesse needs our support. Ron Paul supports Rand and Jesse. Do the math.
